Scammers
May 20, 2021

E renters insurance extracted money from my bank account without my knowledge and refused to return it. They are saying that they voided the transaction but my bank says otherwise. They literally ripped me off and canceled my policy at my request under the assumption that I would get a refund of the $185.50 that was taken from my bank account. I've called to ask to speak with a supervisor but left on hold for 15 minutes before I gave up. This company is a rip off in my opinion but I will not stop till I get my money back.

I signed up with erenters for a year and paid the full year upfront. I then bought a house and called them to cancel on 5/15. They said they would mail me a refund check for the balance remaining. After 4 calls to them and 2.5 months later I still have not received my check. How hard is it to cut a check and send it in the mail? I expect the same timely payment back as I gave up front.

Ridiculous! Shop around and choose a more reputable company. This one is horrible!

Rip Off
July 19, 2022

I moved out of my apartment in September of last year. Called them in July to cancel and they told me to wait. I bought a home and it completely slipped my mind to call them and when I did the representative had the nerve to tell me I may not get my money back. Do not get renters insurance through this company. They are a rip off. They have no integrity! I will file a complaint with the BBB if I do not get my money back.

Fustrating Website
November 29, 2016

I went online looking for quote for renters insurance. This website comes up on Google search as "Low Cost Renters Insurance." But after you provide your email and zip code, it will not let you continue unless you select a property. Well, my property is not listed. Doesn't say anywhere that they ONLY provide quotes for renters insurance for the very small list of properties they have on their website. So frustrated that I called tolled free number. I tell the guy that answered that their website doesn't work. He says, "OK." Like fine! Doesn't ask the problem or anything! So I go on to say that I'm try to get a quote, but it won't let me continue without selecting a property and my property is not listed there. And in a condescending way he is like "you have to select a property to obtain a quote," or something like that. So I'm like, so you guys only provide quote for the properties listed, and he's like "that right." And I'm like... website doesn't say anything like that, it is very frustrating. And he is like, "OK" and hangs up! Crazy, this company will not survive!

May 14, 2019

I am very happy with my service. Any time I had questions they were informative. They are very cheap, And I did get money back when I moved out to pay for damages.

Been on the phone for over an hour on an issue they created and am unable to reach anyone to correct the issue. Go elsewhere they obviously do not want your business just your money.

I canceled my policy in 2017 and they are still charging me. PLEASE DONT GET A POLICY WITH THEM. I received several confirmation emails of my cancellation, yet they continued to charge me for years. When I confronted them with this, they offered me a $30 refund (they stole $700 from me.) I would not accept and asked to speak to a manager. After 15 mins of waiting, I was told the manager was not available and would contact me in a few hours. It's been four days and no one has contacted me. This company is a scheme that teams up with property management companies that force you to get their insurance! The man I spoke to told me that in my terms I agreed to pay even if I canceled my policy and I asked please read me the line in the terms that reads that. He said, "it's there it's in the terms." I said okay please read me the part where it says that if you cancel a policy that you still have to pay. And that is when he transferred me to his manager that did not exist and I have yet to here from. Do not get renters insurance from this company.

NO GOOD I FEEL ROBBED
August 1, 2023

I lived in Bridgeport apartments for 7 years. I never once claimed anything
My vehicle was broken into my tools stolen my truck was riddled with bullets my wife and I were almost shot while sleeping my door was locks got jammed by broken keys and forced entrance my wife's jewelry stolen. I lost everything I mean EVERYTHING
We were forced to move out with bad health issues due to a terrible case of mold mildew no matter how much we cleaned to no avail. We paid into e rental for 7 years and when we put in a claim we were denied no matter how much we pleaded we were left empty. So there you have it what do I think about e rental a big scam the apartment complex forces you to get or they threaten you with breach of contract and you try to put in a claim they give you every excuse in the world not to do what is right! Shame on you and your scam. The BBB
Should do an investigation on this matter I am not the only person with this problem there are so many others and nothing has been done about this terrible situation.

Moved into my apartment and obtained renter's insurance through eRenterPlan, per the property management's requirement. Three months into my lease, my apartment flooded and became uninhabitable. By month's end, I moved out what could be salvaged and threw out what could not. I contacted eRenterPlan to file a claim and they forwarded me to the insurance provider (American National) whom they brokered the policy to. Unbeknownst to me, there is no communication/updates made between the insurance company and eRenterPlan during the claim process despite the insurer being the only point of contact once a claim is made. I notified the insurer of having moved out of the apartment but eRenter continued to charge. HEADS UP, until you directly contact eRenter to request policy cancellation, they will continue to charge and collect via auto-pay. Their company policy is to backdate the cancellation no more than 90 days from the date of official cancellation. I moved and obtained renter's insurance thru Lemonade and am now paying 25% of what eRenter charged for the same coverage.
