Horrible experience because floors were scheduled 7/11 then canceled & rescheduled for 7/12, rescheduled for 7/13, no show again. At 3:00 pm we canceled the entire job. It too bad because we were long time customers. But
No longer as of today.

Cut some of the laminated floor boards short. Did a shady repair job with a bad attitude. Empire scheduled many no show appointments to repair the shady repair job. Then completely stopped answering the phone.

Bait and Switch
December 14, 2022

Rep came to my home. I selected carpet and padding. The price quoted was $1983. I said it was too high.
Rep supposedly called his boss and got the price reduced to $1600. However, the electronic contract read $1983. I immediately canceled the contract. Beware of this company. I have read many bad reviews. Unfortunately, not before I first contacted them.

Completly unreliable
September 10, 2019

I was told 3 x they were coming over to do the tile in my kitchen.
The first time I was told it would only take about 2 hours. I took off from work to get it done. The first day the car broke down. The second time they brought the wrong color tile. The third time the guy was supposed to come in the afternoon. He didn't arrive until 650pm. He told us it was a 6 hour job and could not disconnect the stove and put back to do the tile the way it is now. I was on the phone so many times trying to get this tile job completed.
The sales person made it sound like it was going to be a piece a cake and that everything could be done quickly. My husband is disabled and I wasted my time with this company. I finally I just cancelled it.

Don't do it

So what you know now. Empire salesman are just that. I had my kitchen floor done just 7 months ago and now it's cracking. The big deal from the salesman was that it was a LIFETIME WARRANTY. I guess I should've Google'd the company before committing to a contract cause they don't know what lifetime mean. After only 7 months they're trying to charge me 120.00 just to come look at their faulty merchandise. RUN RUN RUN

Poor service and lies
September 24, 2022

First none of the installers work for empire today they are all in contractors in fact even their sales people or independent contractors and do not actually work for empire. They told us the job would take 4 to 6 hours after six hours they were about halfway through the job. They had to leave for the day because they didn't have enough material to finish the rest of the job. Customer service was of absolutely no help. Called the sales person who was of no help didn't even remember who I was even though we only met three days before then. Told me he would have the installation manager called me they did not call. They charged for a product we found that we didn't need and they didn't ude even though we paid for the product and the labor. I could go on for a long time with all kinds of issues bottom line is to not use Empire today

Llaminate flooring
September 30, 2023

Worst experience had contractors out to install flooring today only to be told they were not doing the job cause appliances were still in kitchen and laundry room (had them all unplugged) said it was not their job to remove appliances and there was no room to lay the entire roll and it cannot be cut and placed in and even yelling at their manager in my house in Spanish guy said here talk to boss only to find out they were not going to get tarps and not moving appliances said it was to be moved before they got there and was only offered $1,000 off I said no I wanted to cancel due to unprofessional behavior and refusing to do job I called empire and informed them they also tried offering $1,000 off I said it was insulting and empire wanted me to wait with house in shambles until Wednesday with no appliances til they finally cancelled and refunded. Anything other than carpet I suggest you RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN

WARNING!

Please do not use Empire horrible nightmare. It started with the installation had to have living room redone bc you could see the division lines was not laid as one piece. On the install 2 no show appoint. Had to have 5 repairs done. JBathroom floor was splitting apart. Transition pieces kept lifting. It has been 10mos and still fighting to get repair. Today was our 4th no show repair for this last opended ticket. We have over 15 opened, numerous calls not returned. I have contacted General managers, sales, corporate offices. People to mention so far are Donna Martin, her general manager and Laura Lopez in corporate. The carpet under my transitions pieces is constantly coming out. Please do not bring this stress on yourself. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Stay away and run!

Doing a basement remodel. Called empire as they said they had great deals for viynal plank flooring. Representative showed up and gave me a quote of $26,000 for viynal flooring. Other contractors quoted job from 8 to 10k. It was over 100 dollars per square foot. Again vinal plank. Ranges from 2.99 to top end 5.00 per square foot. Is this company out of there minds? Stay away dont waste your time. Total rip off.

We purchased 4 rooms of flooring and blinds for one room. They installed 2 rooms of flooring first and even after seeing the width of our baseboards, cut the flooring too short. It took a couple of weeks and several phone calls to get them to come back and fix the floors. The second two floors went in fine. Now the blinds are a problem. First they can't find our order and again after several phone calls and being promised a phone call back - still no idea where or when we will get our blinds. We ordered the blinds a month ago. Will never use Empire again.

They came out because of the 99. A room special. Warning: Closets are considered another room. I wanted the special. I decided against the closets and just doing the 3 secondary 12x12 bedrooms in my home. The cost with the 99. Per room sale came in at a little.over 2000... Do not do business with this company! They run very misleading advertising and scam you!

No Show for Appt

I took off work for a consultation between 11-1 and they emailed me at 11:05 letting me know that they needed to reschedule for later in the week. This is very inconvenient and unprofessional. Empire Today doesn't care about its customers when the warrany expires. Less than 2 years after getting carpeting installed, we had to have it re-stretched and Empire made us pay for it. They were only concerned that the warranty for their installant had expired and if we wanted the fix, it would cost us money. It seems that Empire Today doesn't stand behind the people who install their carpet. If the carpet was installed incorrectly, we should not have to pay for their mistake. This was an frustrating experience. Nobody from either their installation or customer servive seems concerned. They just kept quoting the warranty issue. Having to fix your carpeting less tan 2 years after it was installed is just totally wrong.

Horrible horrible
September 19, 2018

I used Empire for my whole house, I am now needing a couple extra boxes because I'm doing a kitchen remodel and then insist a sales person needs to come out and do extra measurements and sell me an install! I can't even buy a couple boxes to complete my kitchen under the fridge because I'm just moving some appliances... and customer service forced me to make an appt. I then gave them all the info and now they are telling me they can't schedule an appt more than two weeks out for the estimate. They are holding me hostage because they carry my tile! Completely unethical and unprofessional... NEVER USE EMPIRE, EVER!

Worst experience ever
August 25, 2018

The entire transaction with Empire has been a big bate and switch. The reason we chose to go with Empire instead of Lowes was because empire was because on August 2 empire stated they could install by August 9. Lowes had a three with week waiting list. On August 8 at 4:50 PM I received a call from Empire stating our order had not come in on the truck and therefore we would have to reschedule installation. On August 22 the installation occurred. I was absent and when I returned home, I realized the product they had installed is not the product that I had purchased. My wife had taken photographs during the installation and upon viewing the photographs I realized the underlayment pad we purchased had not been laid beneath the laminate flooring only the vapor barrier.

They are scammers. #baitandswitch
The salesman quoted me a great price
We set up a day for install and even removed 85 % of the furnitire so it would be done in 1 day like we were told. And when the installers showed up the installers then told me that we couldnt use the tile that was ordered and it was now gonna cost 2,500 more for the correct tile. They said they would be back the next day. The next day comes around and its a new crew that had no clue what happened the day before.
Their 1 day job took 4 days... and and extra
$2 500 not to mention having all of our stuff shoved in the garage, the kitchen and the outside patio.

Beware of #empireflooring

Our sales rep tried to sell us outdoor carpet for our basement ( do not use Justin Mews). His VM was routinely full so he couldn't addresses the issue. Took over 3 weeks to get that resolved. Then when finally agreed on price and time the installers could come out until 5pm on a Friday. The incompetent installer said it would only take 2 hours to do the job. I was not going to wait around until 7pm on a Friday. It was a good thing I didn't. Today (the following Tuesday) the installers are finally doing the job and they have been working for over 3 1/2 hours and still are not finished. Do not use Empire.

Scam pricing
March 12, 2022

They came in with samples. I asked for the price per square foot for each of the samples installed and they would not give me a price per square foot. They say they measure first and then give a flat rate pricing. I said so just divide out the square footage you're measuring by the total and you can give me the price per square foot. After a long argument they finally gave me the price. I was ready to move forward and then they said they had to write it up, have me sign and agree to a higher price and then they would submit it for a discount approval to get back to the price they quoted me. I wasn't born yesterday. I told them I have no intention on signing anything at a higher price and said have a good day. Scam pricing.

I placed a consult online & got a date 7/20/19 from 12:00 to 2pm. No one called but I got an appointment reminder via email. I called to verify the day of & left messages and even spoke with someone who said not to worry that I was on the schedule but then no call & no show. Then a few days later I got a call & I informed them of what happened, he apologized then offered $500 in discounts and still offering when he hung up. I tried to call back 3 times but just got voicemail. He never called back. Then I waited like a week & tried again & still no call & no show. So I rate this company with a negative 100 (-100). Very poor customer service & very unreliable.

Constant run around
March 3, 2023

I had my LVP installed mid Nov and by Dec, I noticed some areas are starting to tent up and forming bubbles. Called customer service to put in a claim. After countless dialing with no answer and when I am able to reach someone, they give me the run arounds informing me they have to send someone out to reassess. It is now March and no resolution is being made with after multiple reassessment. The countless call to Customer service continues to still be ineffective. This is ridiculous and not to mentioned the job is $7K plus and yet issues is still not resolve. Clearly, they are quick to take your money but slow to no movement to get issues taken care of. Be aware and must do your research with this company!
