The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

I suspect a lot of the women's profile on the site are fake because they never respond until your subscription is about to expire. This is when you get loads of views and one-liner ice breakers. As soon as your subscription expires, you get loads of messages.
A load of crap! Don't even waste your time,
I used eharmony years ago and it was a pretty good site to use. So I thought I would try it again and signed up for it a month ago, and it is definitely not what it used to be. I've been on other sites and most have many more matches and much more activity. Eharmony seems stale to me now in comparison. I also think they use old profiles that are no longer active because they don't show the matches recent activity, so matches that are shown may have not been on the site for a very a long time which cuts down on the potential connections. It's much more expensive and in my opinion not worth the money!
I was less than impressed with eHarmony's cancellation policy. Their payment plans are lacking, their site is expensive, and if you want to cancel - even for a fee - you can't. If you've met someone and you no longer need their services you can't cancel your membership. They will still charge your credit card. Poor customer service. Even in a cable contract you can break contract for a fee. I would never have chosen eHarmony had I known I would be locked in at a ridiculous cost.
I am a 52 year old single athletic, fit & happy female with a masters degree in DC area. I've used several dating sites over the years and do not recommend using eharmony. After 2 months of joining eharmony, matches provided were no longer located in a 60 mile radius, as I had requested, but within a 3-5 hour drive of NJ, NY, PA, DE supposedly because they had no more matches in my local area. Unfortunately, most of the photos of the gentlemen were not professional and didn't highlight their best features. Profile content showed that most of them had few to no interests or hobbies other than work and kids. Most of them seemed to be recently divorced dads who had developed few social skills and certainly had little intellectually curiosity about life.
After 2 months or so, promotional requests for me to sign up for additional services actually blocked me from accessing my profile, so this limited my activity! I only checked profile a few times a week and eventually lost interest. Customer service emails were not responded to consistently and thoroughly. After I spent over an hour trying to find a toll free phone # on website, I finally found a link to customer service and a day or two later was provided with a toll free phone # to call. Stay away from eharmony!
Matches arent compatible no matter how far or near or how honest you are in your own profile. They bill you for services you no longer want and refuse to refund any money even when the issues are on their end. Worst experience ever with a paid dating site. You are better off using the free sites and not wasting your cash.
I ended the trial a week before it expired because it was such a waste of time - they set themselves to take automatic payments from my PayPal account and still charged me $59.95! Their "matches" weren't matches at all, sometimes not only badly matched but also 100s of miles away, and I've had better luck on free dating sites. Now whenever I see that elderly man on the commercials I think of what a scam artist he is. And that claim that they make the most long-term matches - there's no way they could be able to determine that no matter how hard they tried, and they should be sanctioned by the FTC for making false claims.
Just when you think youve had enough you finally get a date. Thats my experience on eHarmony. I keep saying im going to quit and try one of the more fashionable new sites (WeJustFit gets a lot of good reviews for example) but then I get another date and im all giddy again for a week. Still when I count up what ive spend and the number of good dates ive been on it doesnt make for great reading put it that way. To summarise: worth a try but dont limit yourself theres more to online dating than eHarmony (even if I dont take my own advice lol)!
I will make the short and sweet. I was on the site the matches were awful. I got scammed twice eHarmony didn't care they Refund me for my troubles. The matches provided were not even compatible. I wouldn't do it again! Please don't waste your time the site is expensive and it's not worth it!
Avoid this dating site. Nothing but fraudulent people looking to raid your pocketbook. Beware Bill Dejong. It says he is presently in California but don't he is even in the US.
Wow, I paid like $150 for this dating site and it is the single most clunky site I've ever had to deal with. I see that someone sent me a message, but it doesn't open and I can't open the profile of the person who sent it, nor can I even find that person in a search. It automatically sets a filter to include an age range that is not what you want and each time you change it, go look at a profile under the new parameters, it defaults back to the range it wants to provide. I ask to only see folks with pictures, it switches and shows all folks, pictures or not.
I am a fairly attractive women with great attributes, however I have perhaps had one person reach out and communicate with me in the past 3 months I've been signed up.
Went back to Plenty of Fish... much easier to navigate, free and getting alot of great activity.
I won't renew or recommend this site to anyone!
One of the very few good online dating sites. I'd rank it as one of the top three dating sites along with Mingle2day and Parship. I've been using free online dating sites: What a waste of time. If you like writing with 99% fake profiles avoid them like the plague and spend your time on prime dating sites instead. Regards from Belgium.
I've been trying to find love on eHarmony for what seems like forever. It's a great site but im not sure it can still be seen as the only one youll ever need. If youre serious about finding a relationship then you have to be open to new ideas and I recently joined wejustfit.com and im finding it very different (in a good way). Its made me realise that the days of eHarmony being the one stop shop for love and romance are long gone, theres so much innovation and so many options that are just as good even if they dont have the same budget for tv commercials. My 2017 new year resolution is to 'branch out' and so thats what im trying to do now. OK... rant over!
I should have known this site was bull$#*! when the questionnaire had questions about the Obama - Romney election 4 years ago. Nonetheless, I filled out all 1234 questions and optimistically looked for matches. They were all way older than I am (I'm not looking for a great grandmother), way younger than I am (I'm not looking to babysit) or completely fake. I have been in contact with 2 "women" so far, both were trying to scam me. If I was an idiot and/or desperate, I might've fallen for it. I'm sure this site has proven to be fantastic for thieves & douchebags to bilk the unsuspecting lonely people. The $#*! of it is, they're still gonna bill me another $150 for the use of their site (which I'll never use again) where fake posers were trying to basically rob me. $#*!ing ridiculous.
Don't sign up! They give you only 3 days to cancel your membership and receive a refund. If you are just ONE day past your 3-day trial they will decline your request to cancel and charge you the remaining instalments for the year - they refuse to make any adjustments. Customer service is rude, and if you try to appeal and receive a refund, you don't even get to talk to someone over the phone, instead you send an e-mail and await a response (which will be automated and a decline). Most horrible experience I've ever had with a dating site and I will never have anything good to say about their services. A big scam if you ask me!
EHarmony is the worst dating site I have ever been on! I was on for a month and got maybe 2 likes but the people where all in other states, I complained that I wanted people closer to me, so they gave me a few, and they didn't not even fit what I was looking for in a relationship. I tried changing my profile thinking maybe it was that, but then it wouldn't let me change it. Finally after a couple of days of logging in, it let me. I tried to cancel the service, but because I sign in for the special of 6 months, they will not let me out of it. IT'S A TOTAL SCAM! You shouldn't be able to do people that way. I HATE THAT I EVER GOT ON THERE AND NOW I CAN'T GET OUT! THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED DOING PEOPLE THAT WAY!
EHarmony barely sends me matches (none for an entire week, even though I live close to one of the biggest cities in America), doesn't match me appropriately, and makes it impossible to get a refund even though they don't keep up their end.
I signed up for eHarmony based on their promise to match me with compatible matches. They have not done so. I have a doctorate, and I have settings saying education is very important. They consistently match me with people who have only a high school or BA degree. I have my location settings at 150 miles, yet most of my matches are farther away. Many of the matches I get are not active on the site. I believe they have deleted their profiles (my brother did so 2 years ago, yet his profile showed up as a match on my site.) It should not count as sending me matches if those people aren't even available. I also indicate that Christianity is very important to me, but many of those i'm matched with do not share this.
I sent in feedback once, but never got a response. I have tried to do so again, but now the feedback button doesn't work on any of my devices. There is no other way to contact them by phone or online. I've submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, but of course they say they make no guarantees of matching me. I suppose they could send me no matches for the entire time, and just say they couldn't find any.
Overall, I believe eHarmony is engaging in fraudulent business practices by not abiding by their commitment to sending quality MATCHES. Those they send are either not available or not matches. I wanted my money back when I realized this within the first few days, but they make it impossible to get one since I don't live in LA (to walk a cancellation in), and it would cost as much to send a telegraph as the subscription.
Feeling good about eHarmony, been using the site for around a month and have a date set up with a really nice girl. A bit nervous to be honest as last date I had was through wejustfit.com a few weeks after I split with my ex girlfriend in March. Check the site out and run some searches, if you get good results then you'll be setting dates up like me in no time at all. Well worth it! Exciting times!
Matches are so far off the mark it's ridiculous! And I can't review or edit my data that they're supposedly using to create matches? The computerized system based on "years of psychological research" is extremely flawed. Their "feedback" tab is a dead link. Customer service is non-existent.
Been moving to a new city and decided to beat boredom by meet new people online so I signed up to a bunch of online dating sites, also to eHarmony. Well, it is certainly one of the better sites I've used most likely one of the top two or maybe three sites together with Mingle2day. Many members, and most of them are friendly. 4 out of 5.
Did anyone notice the reviews from men are more positive than those from women? There are so many more woman than men on that site that men get better matches since there is more variety for them.
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
