The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

I really regret to pay three months membership.
During 1st month, I could connect only with 2 men.
At other sites, match.com, millonaires match, lovoo, I got offers from 5 men at least in a month. Don't use it!
I signed up to eHarmony a year ago on an impulse decision, two days later I realised it wasn't for me so I contacted them to cancel my membership. However they told me that I have just missed the 48 hour cool-off period and therefore was bounded to the annual membership (ouch!). I did my part, paid my dues and was told by the staff that as soon as the last instalment goes through I could then cancel my membership. Only to find that when the last instalment went through a message came up to say "You cannot cancel your membership as your payment has been processed".
Long story cut short, I complained via their website, nobody got back to me. A week later I checked my account and found that the cancellation button has been activated so I immediately shut my account off as I was so desperately wanting to get out.
My word of caution would be that these guys have a pretty aggressive strategy in bounding their members to continuous payment and automatic renewals, so do be careful.
Another problem I find is the quality of matches I received nowhere near what I was looking for. It seems that they were just assigning any matches to their members.
Customer service was poor and not very responsive.
In summary, it was a bad experience and I would not recommend anyone using this site
In the world of online dating you will come across many sites much worse than eharmony. After using online dating for three years I certainly know what I'm talking about! This site is not as bad as most reviews make you believe.
I personally don't like the match maker concept. I prefer to spontaniously chat up people on online dating sites like Mingle2day and Match. In my opinion, chemistry between man and woman can not be figured out by psychology. But that's just my opinion and for anyone who thinks that the match maker concept works I suggest you to use no other site than eHarmony. Period!
Hi, I would just like to say that these website are a waste of time and money. Here's why if I may:
1) You shouldn't have to pay anything, let alone what they're charging to try to find the love of your life. It should be encouraged to meet the right person. It shouldn't be a transaction. Talk about taking advantage over people who are looking to find their best friend.
2) Most of the people on this website, now lets all be honest are on those websites for a one night stand. You meet them, they wanna sleep with you, and then they try to find some other girl to do it all over again with someone new.
3) People on this website, as I'm sure everyone is aware, are probably in a relationship and married with children. There are a lot of people out there. TRUST ME. You have no idea, they have a great time and the people they're with are left with tears and anger. These types of website feed these type of people.
Thank you
EC
Clicked on the 3 months for $24.99 option turns out that's per month so go billed $75 it's deliberately misleading and once you put your card details in there is no confirmation message showing the full bill it just debits your account.
Gets worse the 9 matches aren't even in the same country never mind the same postcode, wish I'd read these reviews before I wasted my money would rather have burned it than given it to these pricks.
Beware of the Subscription Service! Once you have subscribed you must immediately unsubscribe otherwise after you for example 6 month period ends they will automatically renew your subscription without any contact and you will have to pay again and again until you unsubscribe, this isn't at all easily conveyed to you unless you read the entire Terms and Conditions, it is quite obvious they prey on this and the only reason they would set it up this way is so they can continue to charge you even if you are not using the site anymore. Its disgusting and the matchmaking is so far off the mark, try the other free or cheaper sites, this site cost me almost $400 for nothing but a waste of time and misleading information. Best of luck ti you
I completed fed up with so many questions at the beginning! I am completely drained...
Just being completely honest when I say that this is the worse dating site. Expect to see only approx 5 matches and that is including a radius of 60 miles. Don't waste your money!
Changed format had posted review & removed it thinking I was not giving them proper chance with new Format. WRONG. Last post there were 17. Mow with counter STARTED AGAIN it is 29 in 7 days have had ONE legitimately identified American contact sent to me. When I called I. On last one I talked separately with two eharmony employees first would not assist me nor answer if the guy was still viable in the eharmony system. He told me I was not being responsible nor taking into account everyone's safety as I had identified so many recently & that would not have happened if I had followed the rules & stayed on site. That I should just stay on site and correspond with who they send me. & he is right did that for years and like everyone else out there had no luck No dates from eharmony. He said he wasn't going to check as I needed to just stay on site and correspond and that the filters would identify reoccurring script and delete those. That filter would remove more legitimate people rather than scammers as scammers r not the only ones that cut and paste he refused to assist me Went into tieraid after tieraid of how I had been single so very long and why was that? Why didn't I just correspond on site instead of spending my time identofying these men, & did I know how many I had identified? & if I had not I would still be corresponding instead of calling in he never checked on the man I called in about and was l hung up on him. Called BK and new guy was maintaining I was at fault. They were angry I had identified & forced their removal
Worst site out there, over rated, wast of time. The will screw you out of money in every chance they get. POF is a better site I have used it before. And was happy with results. Hope they rot in hell.
Easy to use and a nice mob app. Its fine if your knew to the online dating seen but ive been around a while. Prefer wejust.com but each to theyre own I supose.
I have read the complaints about eharmony, however I did have a good experience over five years ago so I thought that I would give it another go. Well, I should not have even bothered, it is not the site it used to be. I have just joined another Christian site and have had about the same amount of responses in an evening than I have had on the three weeks that I have been on eharmony. I get many matches every day and yet very few actually even look at my profile which tells me that very few of my matches are actually active and very few people ever update their profile or picture which also indicates many inactive profiles on the site. I have been severely unimpressed with the calibre of my matches, it seems to me that eharmony completely disregards your match requirements and just throw any matches your way to ensure that you do indeed get enough matches. I cannot even say that the members who have contacted me are legit because I just haven't been interested, but for all I know, they are scam artists in disguise.
What is strange to me is that when you do a search for best Christian dating sites, eharmony comes out on top, yet I find it to be far worse than the free sites that I have used! This site is not worth a cent of your money!
Terrible site, don't do it! The initial questionnaire is fun and easy but really I only wanted to check the website out, not create a profile... So I ended up joining for 3 months. It was awful, lots of technical problems, my messages got lost or vanished several times, I was never emailed when people sent me messages even though I had opted for this, I got emailed when people hadn't sent me messages! I got so frustrated I gave up using it... I tried to complain at the beginning, but all that happened was that I was told they needed to reset my password, which caused another few days of technical confusion. Also, despite saying I wanted to meet someone in a certain age range and within a reasonable distance of me, I was constantly bombarded with so called 'compatible matches' considerably older than me and many hours away!
It's a very, very frustrating site, please choose something else.
I registered, spent 30 minutes answering questions only to find out I had to pay to even VIEW the matches. To make things worse there was only 2 matches total... wtf? They want $40+ a month for it, hysterical!
If you are looking for a serious long term relationship it is hard to think of a better known site than eharmony. I like it, really do. I personally prefer more easy going sites like mingle2day and match but eharmony is definitely a good site. No idea where all the negative experiences/reviews come from. I see nothing 'scammy' in eharmony.
This is the worst online dating site ever! You answer all the questions and they don't even match you with someone who is compatible or near you. And when you try to cancel and delete your profile they make it hard. I wanted to cancel and delete my account and they wouldn't do it saying that I still have time left on my paid membership which is stupid. If I want to cancel my membership obviously I don't care if I still have time left on my membership. And when you pay for the membership it will automatically renew unless you change the settings. This website is just after your money. It is not free to communicate with others like they advertise. Don't waste your time on this website.
Ive had a couple of dates on E harmony so I prob shouldnt complain (esp as I know people that have used internet dating agencies for longer than me and never even had a date) but I still think the site is missing something. Ill just stick with wejustfit.com I think, that does everything I need and has more search variety in my area anyways.
E harmony staff, You suck as all the current reviews here state. I had to preemptively call my credit card card company to block your company from auto renewing my membership as it expires today and despite my clicking to not renew 2 months ago you refuse to close my account. I was contacted by the same scammer using 3 different user names. I run background checks on any potential dates and it took 45 seconds to run usernames and photos through tin eye. The scammer alerts show this same person has been scamming men and women since 2011! The other matches you sent were either non existant, like all the other complaints state or they were in excess of 100 miles away and I live in a major metropolitan city. I hope someone files a class action suit against e harmonys parent company. For the money you charge it wiuld take minimal time and no money for you to weed out the scammers who have taken innocent people for millions! E harmony has been the most disgusting experience and your practices are entirely unethical.
Such a waste of money... i wish I had read the reviews before signing up. I can't wait to cancel my subscription and (after hearing horror stories about how they keep charging people) am hoping I can do it successfully. There are very few matches... with most of them seemingly non-existent since I rarely hear back from them. I am embarrassed that at my age, I actually fell for this. :(
About 90% of the time they post a match, an email gets sent within 24 hours that the match has been terminated for security reasons. So that means the site is full of scammers? The real matches are few and far in between, so safe your money. Eharmony is a joke!
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
