EMR schedule screen has too many obtuse abbreviations.
Different patient lists (eg. Checked in, out, all) don't agree.
Too many screens to go thru to accomplish anything

It is CRAP
September 6, 2019

My office manager convinced me that we would be better off with eCW over Athena. That we would save money on the back end with billing as the billing could use it well. Well now we are having patients walk out due to wait times and my charting time increased by 8x. System is a total waste of time and not worth it.

Burdensome

No EMR is great, but ECW adds triple the work to any patient I document on. Lots of clicks, and blocks, small windows slow down the process of getting through this counterintuitive maze There are times when I need to check if a prescription or lab has successfully been transmitted. Overall the layout adds unnecessary eye strain. The system is antiquated, obviously doesn't have the input of a clinician.

I have had difficulty getting into the site each time I have tried to use it. My user name and password have not changed. Last week I was able to get on. This week, there is no record of my account. Site support has not returned my inquiry to help. I really need to be able to access my records to take to other doctor appointments. Got to be a better way than this to run a portal.

I like to give Zero review because they don't provide services but just charged us money. It is very sad and very unprofessional. I would like to go with different EMR

This is the worst company in the industry. Their product is unstable and untested but functional. That would be fine if it wasn't for their awful support. If you buy ECW expect to be on your own because their support might as well not exist. You will speak to an endless procession of people who have no desire or ability to help you. You will be lucky to even speak to a person that understands what you are asking. Their support is so staggeringly bad that it is surreal. My recommendation is that if you have a problem with their software instead of calling them call your local pizza place: you will get exactly the same amount of help but also a pizza.

I've had several EMR in my career. This one has to be the worse. It started from the horrible person they sent to train my staff at my expense. To the poor service. I had problems with EMR and would place tickets talk to people who could not trouble shoot. They were sued by DOJ and did not tell us that I could have gotten out of the contract without the $5000 penalty. I happen to find out by accident when I became so fed up with the faxing system which doesn't work most of the time. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. They desire ZERO stars

These people are crooks. They will nickel and dime you to death. Their support people don't speak English. They are rude. The SAMs won't help you at all. And when you decide you are fed up and move on to another EMR, they won't cancel providers who are no longer with your office. We stopped using them months ago. We are only using eCW to work on the AR. They will not stop charging for the patient education and messaging even though you are not using those services. If you try to get away from them, they are going to charge outrageous prices and rape you for services they are no longer providing. Don't put yourself in a position of paying $1000/month just for the privilege of one provider using the EMR to clean up the AR. Dishonest. Crooks.

We have ECW and we went to a cloud system and since that time we have had frequent crashes with poor response time. Imagine seeing a patient and having limited ability to record history, record exam, order tests, and review tests.
They seem to be unable to resolve the problems I bring to them. Right now I have time to write this since I am in the middle of a crash.

I joined a group of doctors who were knee-deep in eClinical Works. I have used several EMRs in my career. This one increased my typical day of 8-9 hours of work to 12 hours a day and my hair fell out after using it for 1 month! I lost 10 lbs per month and left after 3 months. I should have left after 3 weeks. This was truly the worst experience in my career of 30 years.

I've used epic, cerner and cerner derivatives, CPRS, etc. this one is literally the worst. It looks like it is made for windows XP and is the exact opposite of intuitive. Very very burdensome. I have been offered a job at a place that uses this emr and am not even considering it because the emr is such a nightmare. This emr literally can't recognize simple symbols found on any universal keyboard, documents like telephone encounters are tiny unexpandable windows 1 in tall, pdf outside records viewer is unusable (to the point you have to download them to actually scroll through them).

This emr is 10 times worse than CPRS which was built in the 90s. Let that sink in.

Has cost me mire than 250k billing didn't send out at automatic time set. They askex us to alliw it to continue with the cliche so they could figure out why it was not working! Have no value for peoples time or monkey. They are a waste of oxygen. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT!

I've been with eClinicalWorks as a Cardiologist for over 4 years, and switched from two other "leading" EMRs before that. I find the content of the negative reviews rather suspect, from a clinician's viewpoint. If you can find a better EMR for your money out there, I'd love to know. From my industry experience, the negative reviews are quite generic, and consistent with "positioned" posts from competitors. Perhaps not, but I trust other industry veterans would agree. ECW was quite open to me speaking with current clients before I became a client. I encourage you to do the same. They're widely used across the US, so you shouldn't have a problem connecting with 4 or 5 in your local area, even without going through eCW to do so. It's unfortunate that, historically, there were a few reputable and dependable review sites for us clinicians, but the troubled vendors in various industries have since found value in diluting the field for cheap reference purposes during their sales pitch.

E utilized eClinicalWorks for 3 years in our multi-provider practice. This EMR sstem as chosen based on a price-performance analysis however every time we turned around there was another charge! Also know that if you chose the cloud option and you want to leave ECW you ill be charged over $5,000 per provider to get your data on a hard drive.

EClinical Works support really sucks. First, we have to wait too long to get to a live person. Secondly, the person has to transfer to another tech who doesn't respond at all for hours. Also the sales department is dishonest. Initially they promised a web-based software before we signed up. After signup they said they don't have a web-based software and installed a Client-Server based where we have to install the eCW icon on every computer that we have to access. This is obsolete system as far as other EMR systems in the industry.

I do locums so I've used quite a few EMR's. Eclinical works is shockingly bad. Must have been designed by someone who hates MD's. I'm constantly clicking, clicking, clicking. 10 clicks just to send a note to the referring MD. The prescribing is insane - takes me > 5 minutes sometimes just to send a few prescriptions there are so many boxes to check / click on. When I have the HPI box open and I use Dragon to dictate into it I can't open anything else, so I can't see and therefore dictate relevant info into the note like lab and x-ray results. Every day I'm on the phone with support because there's something I can't do because it's so non intuitive. If this system were free I wouldn't recommend you use it...

This system is the worst ever! I have worked with 4 EMR systems for the last 6 years and this system is the worst ever made. I have no clue how anyone is making any money using it. It is clogged with 'glitches". The more you work with it, the more it would make your life difficult. You waste hours and hours of valuable patient time trying to finish your notes. You are never certain when you click done if it is really done because some box will appear to delay you further. For those who are implementing PCMH 14, run away from it as far as you can. It will cost you time and money that you will never recuperate.

EClinical works has made it clear that they will not support any 3rd party integration into their fax solution that accompanies the EMR system. Really? So you have to buy a separate fax system for everything that doesn't come out of the EMR? You better find a way to solve the problem or other EMR vendors will eat more of your lunch.

I changed my small office of 2 providers seeing 2-7 patients a week to Eclinicalworks after being told I would be charged 5.99 per encounter for 6 months then switched to 199/provider with 40 encounter limit anything over was 5.99/encounter. WELL, that not the case. It took over 3 months to go live and I only received a bill for encounter only for 2 months. Then I began receiving a bill for both 5.99 a encounter and 199/provider. WHAT?! That is not what I was told nor does that make any sense for a small practice trying to grow and not making enough money pay additional money. I still am having issues with features not working on the system yet I'm paying for them after we have complained several times.
Now they are switching the explanation that you must have 40 encounters a month to not be charged 5.99 per encounter. Why does this make sense? I have tried getting access to corporate several times has been nothing but a headache and a run around. Then I never recieved a bill for APril and they never sent any information until it was considered in collection. When ROSA called my office and rude and biligerent to my employee. Then I still never received a bill only for MAY and JUNE. Then left us no access to the EMR but expects full payment for the new month when we cannot access it nor bill. THEY ARE A TRAP AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They do not take responsibility for their mistakes.
