The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with customers frequently praising the quality and performance of its products, particularly for their reliability and ease of use. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding customer service, particularly in warranty claims and support responsiveness. Many customers report frustrating experiences with lengthy delays and inadequate assistance from both the manufacturer and distributors. While some users remain loyal and satisfied with their products, the recurring issues with service and support suggest a need for improvement in customer relations and warranty processes to enhance overall satisfaction.

I purchased a SRM-225 14 months ago and the fan cover assembly which houses part of the clutch seized up on me. I live in the mountains over 90 minutes to the nearest certified service center where the warranty service could be performed. I had already identified the part that needed to be replaced but ECHO warranty doesn't provide for mailing parts to the consumer. After discussing the distance issues and that this unit is being used to support Wolf Creek Firewise Community in Spring Valley CA and we really can't have it down for a weeks or a months, ECHO has decided to send me the part by mail so we can get it up and running.
Wolf Creek Firewise owns 3 other SRM-225s and I have never had an issue with any of them or the ECHO chainsaw we run so I'm considering this breakdown to be a fluke and I won't be changing my mind when it comes to liking, using or purchasing ECHO products. We have a couple units with the easy start system which is helpful because most of our volunteers are seniors or women who are not used to pull starting. I maintain all the units that we use and I can say they are easy to work on. Just keep an eye on air filter to keep clean, use good gas with the right amount of oil and change the spark plug once a year. For $15 you can buy a kit on Amazon that includes a carburetor, spark plug, air filters, fuel lines with grommet and primer bulbs if you need to help keep them running. Thank you ECHO for working with me on warranty parts!
They will fight you in honoring the warranty. Register immediately and scan the receipt and save it. I have generally been happy with the products, but now that I have a warranty claim they are acting like something out of a Dilbert cartoon in giving me the runaround. Beware.
I am a retired lady, and am not capable of handling a large chainsaw. After many of our trees were damaged by a ice storm, we had a man helping us with various size chainsaws. He had a CS-2511T-12 Echo that was great for smaller jobs. I loved it and he said it was a great saw. It is lightweight, but very energetic. Was very pleased with it.
I purchased an Echo PE-225 Edger from a distributor. The units engine locked down on 3rd pull of the starter cord. For three weeks Echo-USA and their distributor (Mowers Direct) have done nothing but be totally dishonest and neither of them will support the product. I called all the way up to Echo corporate office and was given the same run around I've been getting for the past three weeks..."I'm passing this issue up to Management and it will be handled. I've always purchased either Stihl or Husqvarna power equipment but decided to give Echo a try. My advice... stay far away from Echo product. It is inferior and you WILL not have the support of the manufacturer. Neither they nor their distributors will support. I'm out of 254.00 bucks. Very expensive lesson.
Answer: Took me 30 minutes to get an answer. I called three times before I finally got an answer. Terrible experience.
