I bought a DVD of Empty Nest for my sister and she was delighted with it.
Yes, it's not an official release, but this show has been unavailable anywhere for 40 years. As a result the video quality is slightly grainy (may be unusual for millennials used to HD streaming). But it's good enough.
Delivery and packaging were both good.
Do NOT buy anything from DVDrare... They will always sell you illegal burnt discs and NEVER refund you or even attempt to communicate with someone who has been ripped off by them. I bought Trapper John M. D and realized that what DVDs they sent were clearly illegal. I had to pay in American money for the order and I am Canadian so the exchange rate is astronomical. I had to pay an extra $45 to send it back to England (package came from Scotland for some strange reason) by old way of sea shipping and was clearly out of almost $200 American.
They (Linda Mills at DVDrare) are criminals. Do not buy anything from them... EVER. They will rip you off... Dodge your emails. I find it hilarious that they don't advertise the location of the business or even have a phone number. I should have known better than to trust DVDrare. They did NOT refund the money I had to pay.
I received the product order today. I must say that I am shocked at this product. The video quality is absolutely awful and production is terrible. The only thing I can say is that it looks like someone recorded these episodes off their TV via and old VHS recorder, converted to DVD on their laptop and printed DVD labels and packaging on a home printer. The video is poor quality, dull, and blurry. There are even end/beginning of local television commercials at the commercial breaks. Where did they get these episodes? Clearly FOX studios did NOT professionally produce/release this DVD set. There must be copyright infringement laws being violated. The menu shows air dates in 2005, but the Models Inc show aired back in 1992/1993. I realize this show would be considered "rare" but the way this was sold was under false pretenses seems fraudulent "DVD set is new and factory sealed."
About mid-May, I bought the DVD set of the TV series John Doe. Although the the video quality of the recordings was excellent, nearly all audio had issues of one sort or another. Nearly half of the tracks had blank spaces over a minute long; a couple had spotty mutings. Nowhere in the product description on their website was there a mention of failings. I attempted to contact the company 3 times with specific details of the issues I discovered and asked for correction of the problems. No response was ever forthcoming from them. Considering that I paid over $50 for this, there should have been some effort on their part to resolve the issues.
Not gonna lie I thought it was a scam after reading all the bad reviews but I ordered the roc series and the delivery was a little later than expected but it came and even tho its just DVR'd from the tv its good quality and I couldn't ask for something better. Been looking for this show forever thank you dvdrare.com
Ok, so I would never buy from this website but I feel like I need to warn people not to use it. First of all, if you go to the site on Chrome and look beside the url, there will be an exclamation point informing you that the site isn't verified or safe so avoid putting any personal information in. The site isn't verified because they are selling pirated copies of shows and therefore it is illegal. It probably isn't them that are trying to charge your credit cards afterwards. I'm assuming because the connection isn't secure, hackers have targeted the site and are able to see your card details when you're putting them in. Please just avoid using this site altogether. It is not legal or safe.
I bought the Room 222 set a few months ago from them and it was all smooth and was impressed with what I purchased. In some way, one disc had a crack from the hole and wouldn't play as it started splitting from it. I sent a message to them about buying a replacement disc for the broken one. Linda from DVD Rare got back to me right away and is replacing it at no cost. They truly guarantee their products. I was quite pleased with that and appreciate how cool she is. If you're looking for crazy, old shows you can't find commercially, they might just have it, and you can trust them!
Got a mix of reviews on here with credit card fraud. I am a fan of old things thats why it was hurtful to see how people warp people's minds on this stuff. Everybody should report this person to the FBI. Theres a spot on the site for cyper crime. Something has to be done about this
Like most to good to be true, you get what you pay for site. Looks like a good deal until you receive a envelope in the mail with just a disk. I saw the movie i new it was well below everyone's price and the picture gave impression you were going to get a movie in the box with pic of movie like every on else. WRONG. You have to pay more for box, more for cover.
Quality of movie when played is very Poor. Choppy and fuzzy. DO NOT BUY FORM TOM.
I reached out to the website because my order was reaching the 6 weeks threshold for shipping. It states very clearly that it might take 4-6 weeks to ship. They were very short in the emails saying that it would take 4-6 weeks from the inquiry email. So potentially 12 weeks for the order to be fulfilled. So, instead of explaining to the customer why it would take this long they decided to be rude and send me a full refund. This order was a gift and now I have nothing. The website owner/business owner is short, cryptic, and rude. I will not use this website again.
This is a review for another site. We don't take 6-12 to deliver, and the site name he is complaining about is rareDVDs.biz, not dvdrare.com.
This is the 2nd time we have had a bad review intended for this site.
Please go after the site you have bought from.
I pay for movies in February supposed to get them in March no movies i been sending emails bout refund my money it july now no movies or refund they are not respond to anything. They just don't care i ask for my money back for 3 months now. So they are ripped of company and thieves
I ordered the complete set of the Beverly Hillbillies and what I got was pirated episodes that they had recorded off TV and poor video quality. It even still had the network logo in the corner of the video. What a ripoff.
Still waiting although a month has passed. My credit card has been fraudulently used for some $700 purchases and had to replace it/claim the unauthorized transactions. Doesn't reply to e-mails. Will claim this $59.99 purchase as well as I am fed up with this. Save yourself the hassle and just don't buy it from them.
HA! Look at ALL these endless 1 star reviews all saying the exact same thing. What a shocker.
Keep playing and keep miserably losing you beyond pathetic loser scammer X-)
NEVER buy from this HORRIBLE company! I bought a set of DVD's and still, after almost 4 weeks, have not received them. WHY? Because THEY screwed up the shipping label that has my package going in circles and getting nowhere! The post office tracked it and sees that the shipping label is INCOMPLETE and will NEVER get to me and the post office can't do a damn thing to help me. I asked for my $150 00 back and now they have stopped communicating with me! NEVER BUY FROM THEM... they are LIARS and RIP OFFS!
This person complained days after she made the order. The order was placed around Christmas time in the middle of a Pandemic, there was shipping delays everywhere, despite pointing this out, nothing was listened to.
I then sent a replacement fully knowing that she would get the first one.
When she got it the heading of her reply was "THANKS THANKS THANKS", no apology for all the allegations, and no attempt to get this review taken down. She said she would return the original when USPS got their act together.
Liars and Rip Off Merchants would not send out a replacement, we did in the knowledge that she would eventually get the other one.
In times like what the world has had to endure in the past year, sometimes people have to show a bit more patience and think of what is going on in the world.
Placed an order with this company and 3 days later my credit card company called to verify a charge for $ 1800. 00 on my account. It was an internet order from a company I had never heard of. They cancelled card and sent me a new one. Sent email to dvdrare regarding order and they didn't reply. I placed the order again and used a credit card I don't use often. Three days later this bank called me regarding 7 different charges from I tunes all placed on the same day on my card. Once again my card had to be cancelled and they are sending me a new one. No one else could have gotten the second card and it had not been used anywhere else by me. My bank told me to always use PayPal when ordering online as it is a much safer site. Dvdrare has not responded to my emails regarding second order or the credit card fraud.
Avoid dvdrare.com like the plague.
They sent me a dvd set that had been recorded from a tv showing uk gold and could only be described as appalling quality. Unwatchable!
I for one will be taking this as far as I can.
Returned dvds at my expense. Have finally been offered a refund minus postage costs so only £14.00 out of pocket now!
My advice is stay away from this company unless you want a third or fourth generation copy that was recorded from a tv/satellite/ program or more likely a video tape with picture quality that we would call total crap but they call watchable.
If you are over seas do not order - I paid for one dvd in 2017 and it has never arrived. I rang and told them and they apparently sent it another 4 times - still have not received it. I find this strange! Then they said they were going to give me back my money and I have never received that either.
Got my DVDs and they play ok. But like a couple of others here, I am now a victim of bank card fraud approx a week after I received my order. I do order a lot online so I can not say it was this site for certain but please be careful. Use a credit card, not debit.
Same as so many. A couple of days after placing an order with my credit card, my credit card company flagged suspicious charges to my account. Purchases that I did not make. Wish I would have read reviews first. Too many complaints of credit card fraud to be a coincidence. I would have given a negative score if I could instead of a 1.
Answer: Definitely not, it's a fraud site. Just read the reviews.
Answer: We have been going since 2009. A lot of our sales are from repeat customers. We did have a security problem some years ago. We addressed this by having the site completely rebuilt with a different software and enhanced security. Since then we have not had a problem.
Answer: We are legit and have been since 2009.
Answer: Because they are absolute criminals. They will never ever stop ignoring customers or offer refunds.

Hi
You didn't buy this off us. None of our products would have just a white background like that. Check our catalogue on the web site, we don't even sell that title.
According to the disc, you have bought this from someone advertising a web site called RareDvds.com, when you enter this in the browser there is no site there, the domain is for sale. Our domain is www.dvdrare.com and has been since 2009.
I checked for raredvds.com on Wayback and it looks like their site shut down some months ago.
All of our DVD sets come compete with artwork and proper printed discs in cases with covers. It is someone else you have bought it from and left us with a bad review, please verify your purchase, it was not from us.
I can understand a bad review if we sent you something like this.
Can you please remove this negative review and give it to the site who sold you this.
Thanks
Linda
