I have been a customer of Dress Barn for many years and have NEVER had any problems. Until my last purchase - their Customer Service simply doesn't exist these days. I placed an online order - however did not receive one of the tops. I followed their instructions and reported this, included order number and a picture of the invoice.
I received an initial acknowledgement approximately 2 weeks later with a request for another picture, which I provided within 24 hours of the request. From that point on - no communication whatsoever. I sent several emails, asking for someone to contact me. Still nothing. I requested via email for a manager to contact me. Still nothing... finally after 3 months and several emails... I received an email - no apology just an email stating "we will give you a store credit for the missing item."
I would have rather received a credit to my payment method, but that was NOT an option. I will use this credit and NEVER shop Dress Barn again - I'm sad to see how this Company has changed. It is sad to see another established business change their standards to such a low level - I can't imagine they will remain in business much longer.
First person I emailed was rude and said I should be informed and gave the tracking number. She did not understand that the tracking picture for delivery is not my home. Totally ignored what I asked about. Several emails and NO response to me. I wrote again today I am told they show it delivered on May 6 and not their problem if lost. No customer service or concern whatsoever. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS place! Strange email responding that they got my first email and it said delay due to holidays - I asked what holiday? NOT reputable which is sad when they had a store front I bought many things there, I will no longer buy anything from them. Had my money, no interest in even checking with carrier what happened.
This company is a SCAM and a joke. BUYER BEWARE they will charge your cards and not send you any of the items you purchased. THEN they will refuse to credit back your card to give you your money back. If you do plan to purchase from this awful company use your credit card so you can file a fraud report to get your money back, that's ironically when their customer service depart decides to talk to you is when they receive a fraud claim. Hope they go out of business for real this time!
I placed an order for 3 items in January. I recieved 2 of the 3 & this is March. I have tried to reach out to the company & have gotten nowhere!

My husband ordered $300+ of clothing all of which was too small. I requested a return label back in January -received and promptly returned. Tracking indicated received. No Refund. No Exchange. Have contacted customer service. You don't get to speak to a real person. Have sent letters, emails, etc with no response.
I ordered two items on 1/15. It's now 3/4 and they have not shipped. There is no working phone number for the company, so the only option is to email them, which I've done four times. I've only ever received an automatic reply. This was a decent company when they had stores, but the online store is apparently a scam designed to steal from customers. They've updated their promo codes for March, so that tells me they are continuing to try to scam people out of money without sending anything in return.
Dressbarn is just stealing from its customers at this point. I still have not received items from a Nov. 13 order. After trying to message, email, call regularly about this, figured leaving a review could be the only way to get an answer. I would like a full refund of actual money- not store credit. Some of the items aren't even available any more on the website. My order number is *******.
I too ordered from them thinking that it was my favorite clothing store. NOT even remotely close. Ordered a cute black jacket with grommets. It was too big, called the company wanted to return for refund and didn't like quality and too big. Said I would have to return the item for an exchange and wait until they received it before they sent the smaller size. It took them a month and half before I received the exchanged item. This one, not only was the quality still not there, the material and stitching was terrible. Sleeves way too big, had to take to a seamstress to have it fixed... DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!

I buy clothes online all the time. And Dressbarn is the worst. No wonder they close all the stores.

Only give a store credit and not back to your credit card. I put in a dispute with my credit card, they asked me to drop it, so I did. They said they need proof of dispute being dropped (I did) and they keep saying that they can't get it to go through. IT IS A SCAM!
I ordered two items this month, one of which I wanted to return. After 8 emails and one phone call to get a return label, I gave up and contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. In the meantime, no one seemed to care until I did this. Then I just got a Dress Barn store credit, but I can't open it. Why can't they just do their jobs? The very worst customer service I have ever had. Not at all worth it. Please take your business elsewhere!
You can certainly tell that this is not the same Dressbarn of years past. You need to be very sure that what you are ordering will please you and you will keep it. Otherwise you are out shipping both ways and will only receive a store credit for the remainder. You can not receive a refund to your credit card (they state there may be exceptions). Review their return policy carefully before ordering especially if you are used to dealing with on-line vendors like Amazon.
Trying to get a response on permission to return an item took four emails over four days and then the answer was for more information, "why do you want to return the item?" I find it much easier and better to deal with most other major on-line vendors. I certainly do not intend to order from Dressbarn again.
Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever come across. Horrendous, rude to the point they will not listen or let you speak. Why oh why did they ever close all the Dress Barn locations and sell to the company they sold to
First purchase, quality was horrible, and stitched all wrong. Would not refund, only exchange. Had to pay shipping. Exchanged for a designer brand, thinking it would be better quality - NOT A CHANCE - sent something similar, and NOT the brand I purchased. Guess what. No refunds even though their mistake.
Website is poorly designed and hard to use - Can't access cart - only checkout, and they automatically add the bogus reward program so be careful.
Customer service a joke and non existent.
They are theif. I made a purchase and then made few returns. They gave me money on an E gift card. When I made a putchase with the gist card they took the money from the gift card and never sent any merchandise. What? You don't believe I don't believe it either. I have called and written to them about a 100 times already trying to get my order since money from gift card is taken and they say we will get back to you but it has been 2 months and none gets back to me and each time I call it is a run around. Horrible. Don't make the same mistake I did. Just stay away from them. Ps. I had like $184 on that gift card.

Very poor quality, plus nothing fits ( 2 of the dresses are made for women aver 8 feet tall, not kidding)

THEY DON'T GIVE CREDITS IN THE ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT, STORE CREDIT ONLY! BE AWARE, YOU MAY END UP PAYING SHIPPING AND HANDLING ENDLESSLY. MOST OF THE TIME THEY DON'T HAVE MOST POPULAR SIZE-MEDIUM. YOU CAN BE FORCED TO BUY JUST ANYTHING TO USE YOUR CREDIT.
Customer service is horrible return policy even worse. Had to fight for a replacement since they would not return my money. Second dress still has blue ink on it really stands out on a white dress. If you buy anything you will end up throwing your money out of the window. Never again will I purchase anything from them!
We purchased a good amount of items to try on for my daughter (since we are understandably unable to do in store try ons at many locations.)
We contacted them soon after to return the ones that didn't work, (in under 10 days, well before the 30 day policy.) I received several redirect calls, their website help line was unavailable (didn't work or connect) and when I finally reached someone, they gave me a false name. They have told me to wait on my returns, and are currently trying to out wait me on the 30 day policy. They have lied about agencies they're working with, gave me false employee names, and are trying to outwait me so that I can't return my purchases.
Attempted to buy item on line using a promo code for clearance items that was listed on their home page. It did not work. I called customer service and a male told me the code was expired. He suggested I wait a few days for new code and refused to honor the purchase. Several days later, the promo code for clearance is STILL on their page with the same code. On top of that, they ONLY offer store credit for returns. Never shopping at this website again.
