Horrendous service
October 2, 2014

Horrendous service. I got a pamphlet on buying a cd for a full price for 4 cd's for 1.99 which i did and relaised only later that the agreement was to buy 5 cd's for full price. I know its my fault for not reading the agreement and I am ready to pay the price for the full 5 dvd's i am just angry that on the leaflet for get 4 cd's for 1.99 there was no information on this agreement. Now they tell me that they would send me featured titles every month if i do not respond by the dates they tell me and that even makes me loose my option of buying the DVd's i want.
In effect i am actually paying them the whole price for all the dvd's i bought, if i dont reposnd by the deadline get cd's i don't want every month and can't cancel my mebership till i buy all 5 cd's! How is this a deal. I rather have them make me buy cd's at the normal price when i want than this horrendous cheap way of getting us to forcefully buy cd's from them!

Fine print my $#*!!

Its a total rip off the featured movies suck half the time plus im obligated to buy it because of the 5 movie Contract in the "fine print" i just thought the movies would be better and i'd have the best price due to my membership. "DON'T GET DISNEY MOVIE CLUB"!

Don't do it. They'll keep charging your card.

I was charged the one dollar plus 35 on my initial purchase.

Had to cancel my card.

I placed an order one afternoon, the next morning when I see it pending on my credit card I realize it is way more then it was supposed to be because of the discount applied. I called in, they can't help, I try to cancel but apparently it is to late. I was told to email the email address to get support of a screenshot of the $20 cheaper option which I did... 5 Days later still no adjustment made, not a word from disney, I tried to call and get help with no avail.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

TERRIBLE

I have had nothing but issues with this company I have tried to cancel twice the second time I called the girl seemed to be helpful and quick (13 minute call) they had a pending charge on my account she said would fall off I waited 4 days for the charge to be posted on my cc after the girl told me my account was cancelled and my CC info was deleted so I had no way of being charged again! I called them back and said my credit card company told me that the amount was posted on my statement I called again! The girl said I would get a confirmation email of my cancellation and I would be getting my money back within 24-72 hours after I already waited the max time! Still no confirmation email I told them if they charge me again it's fraud PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS BULL$#*! ITS THE BIGGEST HEADACHE EVER

If you are like me and have young children and you want to start a Disney movie collection in DVD or Blu ray or Blu ray 3d format then I wiuld suggest using Disney Movie Club. Though the selection for your free movies is not that grand you can get a lot of classic movies. You also have a lot of good opportunities to end free DVDs or Blu ray. I personally love everything about Disney Movie Club.

I was excited to sign up for this reward program and was happy with the movies I received. I made sure I fulfilled my requirements of purchasing so many movies in the right amount of time. I was getting tired of the monthly emails so I decided after 3 years, it was time to cancel my membership. It was impossible to get someone on the phone, so I decided to email them and I am thankful I did because I now have a paper trail. I cancelled my membership on 7/24/2020. Received a confirmation email and all. Now I received 2 movies in the mail with an invoice dated 7/27/2020 and a charge to my card! Supposedly, I placed an order on 7/20/2020 and I most certainly did not. I received a movie I already had so I can guarantee you I would not have purchased this old movie at their ridiculous prices AGAIN! And when I discovered this I tried logging into my account to do some research and they have already removed me from their database apparently because now I can no longer log in. I now have to wait until tomorrow to call and get this whole situation fixed.

UNBELIEVABLE, they say buy 4 movies after you sign up which I did. Then closed my account and they still CHARGED ME TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT. SO TOTAL WAS $200

It is shameful that a company with the Disney brand would be so lame when it comes to implementing the most basic and common anti-fraud best practices and then be so greedy as to refuse a charge back even after they acknowledge fraud!

I am not a customer and never was. My credit card was fraudulently used to order movies. When I realized fraud had taken place from my cc statement, I called the Movie Club who immediately acknowledged the transaction had already been identified as fraudulent. The support rep could not find any trace of me in their system (based on name and address) though my cc was in their database. He told me the person the movies were shipped to had reported he had never ordered the movies and had returned them. I mistakenly assumed that meant they were going to credit my card back! Silly me!

I reported the issue to my credit card issuer who reverted the charge. Soon, thereafter, my bank told me The Disney Movie Club was rejecting the charge back. I called The Disney Movie Club again to better understand their cc practices. They said that they check that the bill to and ship addresses to are the same. But, clearly, they do not use any other common rules for identifying credit card fraud like checking the bill address to with the address on record with your bank or something as simple as IP geolocation to find out if the IP of the person ordering is in the same city as the bill to or ship to.

To make matters worse, they charged me a second time when they had already identified that the cc had been used once fraudulently 3 weeks before. One would think that the cc would have been flagged! No! If it goes through, they just take the money and run and refuse the charge back! Needless to say I changed my cc altogether and pressed my bank to fight them on both charges.

I do not want to even know how they protect credit card numbers and there is absolutely no way I would ever consider ordering anything from them. Be careful that the Disney name does not mean secure!

Featured mess

The problem for me was not the commitment. I followed the rules, got my cheap movies and bought my overly inflated priced ones until I was completely done with the agreement. I said "nice, smooth sailing with cheap discounted Disney movies" but the problem is even though you are out of the agreement and are free to cancel (which they try hard to keep you from doing) you still have to regularly open their emails, call a phone number, or go on the website to decline the featured title or they will send it, this doesnt sound like a hard thing since it's just a couple clicks... EVERY MONTH you have to do this including the holiday ones. Eventually your going to forget and get charged. My card was declined and a few times due to some issues with my bank account. They put a warning stating I need to update my card info to continue my membership, thinking they stopped charging that card I wasn't concerned with it. Well I fixed the issue with my account and suddenly I'm immediately drafted for 30 and 40 dollars from a card that was stated as not active on the Disney movie club site. They only refunded one and told me to mail the other back when it arrives but the fact they charged a dead card at random is concerning. Though not the scam in terms of how wlothers are rating them, they are definitely a scam and will get you one way or the other if you join. I'm a proud cancelled membership holder and I will never return as long as they are conning people the way they are. They need to remove the featured title automatic charge/ship option but they won't because that's where they make their money, well that and people not reading the agreement and just seeing cheap movies and losing all sensibilities.
