I had been a loyal customer for 23 years. They kept jacking up the prices while taking good channels away. They didn't offer any discounts for loyal customers but rather to new subscribers only. I was paying $125 a month for total crap. I finally switched over to YouTube TV which is a LOT cheaper and has all of the channels I want, counting the ones Dish took away. When I called to cancel, the customer service rep was doing everything possible to try and get me to stay, even offering me the same monthly cost as YouTube TV, however that was only for a limited time. It took almost 30 minutes of being on the phone before I finally was able to get them to cancel. They charged me $20 to have the equipment returned and they wanted things returned that are on the actual dish, which is high up on my roof, which was installed by one of their installers. In the fine print it states you don't need to return items on the actual dish yet they tried to hide that by putting it in fine print. So glad I found that out before climbing up on a ladder! Satellite dishes are quickly becoming a thing of the past with all of the many different, cheaper streaming options out there. I will not be returning back to Dish Network or any satellite provider.
I had Dish Network but the service wasn't great and it was pricey so I disconnected and went with Spectrum. Upon disconnecting, I paid my final bill. The day AFTER I paid my final bill, Dish Network reported me to a credit agency for nonpayment. I have been harassed every day starting at 8am for a bill that I paid in a timely manner for services that sucked. This has been going on for approximately a month. When I speak with the credit agency, they can see that I paid the bill and are apologetic. But Dish just keeps sending it back to them. I have finally filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully, I will get some resolution this way. My advice is don't use Dish Network. They will take your payment and report you to the credit agencies for not paying. The service sucks and they are theives, trying to scare people into paying twice if you disconnect from them. Look elsewhere for your tv provider.
They tell you this and that but they are in fact scammers.Do not beleive anything they say,They are in the business of scamming money.Thats it and thats all.
I unfortunately signed a 2 year contract with Dish and have had interrupted service over 50 times. My contract is up in December 2023 and I can't wait to get rid of this horrible company. Never ever again will Dish ever be in my home. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO DISH NO MATTER WHAT THEY OFFER YOU. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
When I signed up for Dish they guaranteed that I qualified for $150 Visa gift card. I talked to them 2 weeks ago and they said my gift card would be in the mail give it five business days well it's been two three weeks and I have not received my gift card yet I think they are running this scam on people I think it's all b******* so I give them one star
I am a senior and admit that technology is difficult for me. I had Dish seasonally for 3 years then called with a problem connecting to the dish. I wasn't able to follow the tech person who told me I would then have to have a service call for $85. I decided to end my contract and sent the Hopper back. I was told they never received it and I would owe an additional $200. I had to pay this because I couldn't prove I sent it back and of course they denied they received it. I don't suggest this service.
I liked the selection of channels on DISH but it seemed as though my rates were creeping up and up until finally we were paying over $130/month. We switched to DirecTV and our rate immediately dropped by $50, even though we were getting almost the same set of channels.
One thing that really bothered me: I had to sign up for two different sports packages in order to get complete Olympics coverage. I don't watch 99% of the channels I was forced to buy, which is a continual irritant. In a non-Olympics year, all I really want to watch is the Universal Sports Network (figure skating and gymnastics) and the horse racing channels (HRTV and TVG), but I still have to sign up for all of those other sports channels that I never watch. And whatever happened to Dr. G? That was one of my favorite shows.
I got dish about 2 months now and dish getting no satilite I call them 4 days with no tv on a snow weekend ridiculous then they lie about getting a 100$ gift card never got mine I'll be switching as soon as I can
Two months ago they told me I would have to start paying full price for starzs so I canceled it only kept the movie channel. I was told I had to cancel before the 5th or I'd have to pay for that month. I canceled before the 5 th they charged me $19. Said it was for prorated for the movie channel we kept. PRORATE WHAT. I've already had the movie channel so why would they prorate it. I've been with dish for 20 years never late on my bill. This is how they treat their "good " customers.not they are charging me $165 with no premium channels. Yes as soon as spring is here I'm done with dish.
$104/MO TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS?!
We have been customers for 5 years. So much for that!
I paid Dish the $50 service call to have my receiver moved to another part of my house.
After waiting the 5 hours window, the tech never showed. He claimed there was a different address on my account. That's weird! The DISH bill can find its way to my home every month, but the technician cannot?
I called Dish to ask them... anyone to get in contact with their Tech Dept/Dispatch.
6 transferred calls later (and having to explain myself each time), and 2 hang ups, I sat on hold for 1:18:17 to speak to someone to say, "JUST CANCEL MY SERVICE!"
Dish can forget about any type of contract we had with one another since only I have been holding up my part of the service commitment. DISH BREACHED THE CONTRACT, I WALK AWAY. PERIOD.
DISH's customer appreciation monthly fee must start at $105/mo.? Therefore, my $104/mo. Payments can be better served by any of Dish's competitors.
No support
I'm pretty sure I've tried new batteries, unplugged my receiver, and any other basic reset before calling incompetent support that transfers me to a non number. Total BS
DISH TV is and has been in negotiations with ROOT TV for coverage of our local hockey team (Seattle Kraken) for years. It appears management has no intention of providing what their customers want. We're locked into a contract, but when it's up then good riddance DISH!
I like Dish. Cost is too much for usage given all the options. Be cool if they could analyze customer usage info AND RECOMMEND PLANS RELEVANT TO THAT. IT WOULD HELP ME AS i HELP THEM. SEEMS TO BE a GOOD SERVICE IDEA FROM MY PERSPECTIVE.
Stay away from Dish. They increased my bill without explaining why. I have been loyal customer for 10 years. All the dish customer reps are rude and unhelpful.
Dish makes a lot of claims on their TV commercials, but many of them are smoke and mirrors. Do not be taken in by the large, red, "Only $29.95/mo!" in their ads. This is only a promotion, and they are sneaky about hiding the truth of the price you WILL be paying once they've locked you into their two-year contract. To add insult to injury, their channel packages are incredibly sparse unless you pay a lot extra for the higher tiers. And way too many are not in HD -- even in 2015! DirecTV charges more for their lowest package, but that lowest package offers more channels, and more in HD, than all but Dish's most expensive packages. There is no comparison, especially if you use a multi-channel DVR (Dish is far more restrictive of what and when you can record, particularly in Prime Time, than DirecTV which is pretty much unrestricted). They cannot compete on quality of service, so they try to compete on price -- which invariably means cutting corners. But they are at least providing price competition in the cable/sat marketplace. That is pretty much their only useful function anymore (unless you have no other option to get TV for some reason).

I subscribed to Dish 2 years ago. It was a 2 year contract that ended DEC. 22 2023. About 2 months ago I contacted their CS dept. to ascertain what they would offer to continue using their service. Their best offer was the basic package at $120/month.
On Christmas Eve 2023 I received an email from them with a bill for $150. They had added, (without permission), a "priority service" fee of $12. I believe that this day was specifically chosen because, in their rationale, nobody would cancel service on Christmas Eve. They were wrong. After hours of trying to reach a person, whilst being incessantly told how important my call was I did finally reach a live person. " I want to cancel service" I advised. "What is your A/C #?". " I do not know" "What is your tel. #?" "We do not recognize that #"
After several minutes of this I told them that I had received the bill by way of email so check my email address. They found me.
We have good news for you they said, We can offer you your existing service for $100/ month. I briefly considered this but opted to continue with cancellation, my reasoning, - I had caught them trying to pull a fast trick so how could I now trust them.
I now enjoy pretty much the same service on Roku for $6 / month. Dish will gradually fail.
We were loyal Dish Network customers for many years, but we noticed that new customers were getting better more advanced equipment with lower rates. We spoke with their retention department and that if we wanted the most up to date equipment that we would be paying twice what we were paying at the time. So we elected to cancel our service. We asked them where we could drop off their equipment and they said since our equipment was so old that they did not want it returned to them, but we could take it to Best Buy and they would recycle the items. We did just that. Now fast forward to today. We called to re-establish service with them to take advantage of their special offers, plus, we were unhappy with our current provider. The Dish Network representative checked our old account and history and said we would not be considered for a returning customer since we never returned our equipment to them 2 years ago! WOW! Not only did they not want to retain us as customers, but now they don't want us back. Think TWICE before signing up with these YO-YO's
I gave DISH NETWORK my credit card number to have them put my account on auto pay. A week or so later my service was cut off. I called them and informed them I had a recording of the call in which I clearly stated that I wanted to be put back on auto pay. They wouldn't listen to THEIR recording of the call because of ya-ya-ya.
I will be terminating my service, and would advise anyone considering Dish to think twice before signing up!
Dish, a real PIA!
Dish keeps going up in Price while cancelling channels that they offered when you signed up. Dish just says "channel no longer available" BUT offer no type of refund. What a rip-off!
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
Answer: Yes ive been with them for 15 years and when i said this is ridiculous the guy said 'OK' and nothing more they are terrible
Answer: They bait and switch with their supposed DVR recording option that they change to On Demand, making it impossible for you to watch what you thought you recorded.
