If I could give 0 stars I would. I was told in June of 22 I could cancel in three months. I called back in March of 23 and was told I had to wait till October to cancel. They stole my money because of this.
I was a happy customer of dish for over 14 years… Their customer service was great… Until I needed to cancel my Internet and satellite service due to my recent job loss… They wouldn't do it! I was told they would, reassured they would, and after numerous calls, I still kept getting a bill. They shut down my Internet, but not my dish/satellite… Took me over four months to finally get my refund… And that took numerous hours on hold with customer service, and finally emailing their corporate office! Dish is very happy to take my money… On time… But do not like giving refunds! They make it extremely difficult, and extremely hard to understand when customer service doesn't speak English as a first language!
This company has to be the shadiest corrupt entity that I have ever experienced. Could be why they have a one-star review everywhere I look. You can't talk to anybody that speaks good English and you have to struggle to understand what they're saying... and that would be after the 45 minutes you're on hold. I would think a company that is worth 3.45 BILLION DOLLARS would offer their customers a bit more other than raising our rates over charging us and then subjecting us to the customer service that we can't even understand. I love watching tv … but it's such a pain to even turn it on … they used to have a control like Diirect TV … my friend had it … but now it's like you've got to take a class to watch tv … I hate it. Can't wait to switch back. I just go to bed now not worth the trouble to watch television…
Received message that we had a complete signal loss. Husband called and cust service said we had to upgrade to the hopper with a higher price and a 2 year. Contract. We have been with them for 8 years. Husband told them I would call when I got home. Was told we didn't have to upgrade yet but will have to in the future. Still have to send a tech out but can not get here for almost 2 weeks! Will be chey other companies while I wait for them. Bill always paid on time. Bet if we upgraded they would be out in a few days!
Dish network took off our local TV station Fox and keeps saying we're in negotiations which has been weeks. Lies. They blacked out CBS, NBC,ABC until I called Dish and told them I filled with FCC then right then & there those stations except Fox 23 came right back on quick. FCC thought that was funny. They're checking into that too. I'm going to get an indoor antenna when that works I'm dropping Dish faster like Angela dropped Brad Pitt.

Dish offers free installation meaning they provide the consumer with the ANTENNA and equipment to make the service work, when the cancelation of the service happens, they do not remove the antenna that belongs to them, on top of that, if you request them to remove it, they want to charge the consumer over $ 150.00 for the removal, so far, I never had an issue with the service until the cancellation time, IT IS A COMPANY THAT ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY BUT DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE NOR CUSTOMER TIME, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.
I have been a dish network customer for almost a decade. When I was getting ready to move I put my service on hold. When I moved into my new home I called to cancel dish because I can get all the streaming services for much cheaper. They told me that I had signed a 2 yr contract and they had me on record accepting it. I explained to them that I would of never knowingly re-upped my contract especially i was getting ready to move and that the deal I would of gotten would be running while i was on hold. I explained everything to them and they didn't care. I even let them know that at the very least I was misled, but once again they said there was nothing they could do and charged me over $300 termination fee. I asked could they at least reduce it since it was obviously not what i wanted to do and have been a loyal customer for over 9 years. They couldn't do anything. I am done with dish network for life. I will never do business with this company again.
I called dish because my system wasn't working, got the usual useless questions about having it plugged in, etc. Determined that I need a technician to come check it out. This was 6/19, and the first appointment was 6/29! A p.m. arrival was given. So today6/29 we were sent updates on when tech would arrive. The time kept being pushed back, until finally they said they weren't coming today! And wanted to set an appointment for 7/14! Unfortunately or fortunately we live in a rural area and there are only two choices for tv. I suppose the other one will get my business!
After several months of bad service and several tech visits, never worked correctly. Was told by one supervisor that due to several issues and tech visits wouldn't be charged disconnect fee and would put in notes. When called to disconnect said would be charged $420. No supervisor would help and said still be charges. Too many tech visits and lies told by reps. Don't believe what they say, and best Don't Get Dish Network
I just got dish a couple months ago and I've been constantly on the phone with them trying to figure out the charges. I maneged to keep the price I was promised, but im only able to watch TV in one room. And the package of channels is very limited. Also th3 dish anywhere app doesn't let you watch most of the channels unless you upgrade, but, of course, it is going to cost more. Now if I want to cancel they are charging me more than 400 dollars for early cancelation fees. So much unhappy with the service!
They refused to cancel my contract. 1 of my boxes was over heating. A representative replaced the box with an upgraded box without making me aware that it automatically renews my contract. At the end of my actual contract they refused to cancel it, and charged me for a whole new contract. I never agreed to any of it including upgrading that 1 box. She claimed my contract end date wasn't going to change, because she had to change the box to something else. They never reported to credit bureaus my payments. They claim they do that. They actually didn't close my account when I requested, and sent back all the equipment like they said. Never again. They're the worse. Stay away from Dish Network. I also had a man that works as a representative in billing tell me how much to pay off my contract. When a month went by after paying it off they sent me a bill wanting more money. I already qent them everything back.
Can't stand dish. I always have to reset my reciver and it's not just once a day. It's at least 3 times a day that I have to reset it. When you have little ones with little ones attention spans, it sucks! In the middle of one of their shows and then it blacks out and I need to reset it. It takes like five minutes to reset too! Way to long. I'd rather just use my DVD player. Avoid dish!
I was a customer of dish network for over 15 years my bill was getting so high, i called and discussed it with a manager at dish, and they were rude and not willing to help lower my bill, unless i gave up all my channels i watched. I told them i would cancel my service if they couldn't help me keep my channels and lower my bill. She was content with me to cancel and so i did. Sad after si many years they would not work with me.
Tried to cancel my account to go to streaming and was treated like a idiot child who was ignorant of what I was trying to do. The operator refused to cancel my account only to end up canceling it within minutes of me hanging up on him. And then trying to make my bill reflect that I still owe money when I have been on auto draft for 4 years and paid up until the 13th of next month. Completely unprofessional, unfriendly, and almost $200 for the basic channels and Encore movie channels. Yes, over $170 for that.
The customer service at dish network is horrible.if I wasn't locked in a contact with them I would leave and go to drict tv. They have better prices and if their service stopes working like mine did for dish then drict tv will send out a technician to fix the problem rite away not 17 days later like dish network is doing.so if I was looking for tv I would definitely choose a different tv provider
If you give verbal consent over the phone, you must cancel within 24 hours. You won't get the equipment, or the truth, until several days later when the technician arrives. If what the representative told you on the phone is not what you expected, Dish will hold you to an early termination fee because it wasn't canceled in the first 24 hours of the original call. It doesn't matter that they failed to tell you important information, they hold you to the 24 hours. This should not be allowed but that's how they get you! Beware!
One minute or less to get new service, on hold for 17 minutes to disconnect. At minute 9 the system hangs up on me, I call back am told its 14 minutes for the automated system. I call in for sales 1 minute. I ask to cancel they put me to customer service, 8 minutes this time. I speak to someone they transfer me to cancelation 14 more minutes. That rep, Fermin spends the next 30 min tying to sell me deals, starting at 10 a month.though with Fubo TV I save 80 a month for the exact same channels, ending as high as 60 a month. After feeling I have gone through a time share/ car dealership presentation I was finally told for the low low price of $20 a return box I can finally be done with Dish. They initially said I needed 3.um no send me a bigger box, ok they could do 1. I found out the call center is in El Salvador not that it matters much, other than crappy service might be what you get from cheaper labor.
We ordered service but we're unsure if we wanted to go ahead with it or not, as we were trying to get internet at our home. Did not was dish to begin with. An hour after ordering the dish and being told we had 24 hours to cancel. We found a new internet service available at our home. We called back to cancel the dish and they did not want to take no for an answer. Kept telling them we wan to canel. The rep kept trying to reschedule installation. Repeatedly told her no. Kept trying to give me better rates. I continued to tell her no. Finally after about 15 minutes of asking her to cancel and practically screaming we didn't want thr service she finally agreed to cancel. Beware of this service! I will never use them
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
