I had trouble with cyberbullies on this site, you see it is worse then facebook. If I were you it is a bit of concern to my parents that people on there are sick and twisted even if there is great art. You see you never know if there are petifiles on there. And people make up rumors, and other nasty things becareful and chose your friends wisely or only friend those you know.
What's this? The art is nothing but just a disgrace to art it contains fetishes like vore, inflation, diapers, etc. It also has cyberbullies, crazy fangirls/fanboys, terrible ships, stolen art, fanbases, etc.
One of the best websites I've ever tried. It helped me making New Friends and Being more creative. And I also feel more Happy since I opened an account in November 2020. I Almost immediately maked New Friends and meet people from all the world from the Us to Israel. The people on the site are Nice. I don't say too much cyberbullying like many people say. And I don't see many porn pictures like many people say. Also like the new layout and I Don't Get Why It's so hated. I write short Pokémon stories on the website. My account on deviantART is called the-italian-vaporeon. Great website for expressing opinions Show Your Creativity and making New Friends
I've created 3 Deviantart Core accounts. All 3 have been deleted by the moderators without just cause.
I've left the site after discovering countless causes of children in fetish artworks,
I go to report it and nothing ever happens.
Then next time i look into it i seen the underaged report section greyed out saying staff have reviewed.
-pokemon kid getting his face shoved in a girls arse as she farts loudly with a lewd face
-literally naked child model for a dancing program called MMD with textures and all
-countless stuffing fetish artworks showing kids eating way too much and getting bloated burping loudly as a fetish artwork.
-a five nights at freddy fetish artwork depicting the child from security breach being swallowed by the female night guard. Involving children in vore is fetish content involving children and yet its not removed from DeviantArt.
I get you're a Deviant we all are.
Just keep the children out of it... okay sweetie?
Meh they don't care.
Even when im not logged in with an incognito browser i see child fetish content from this site.
They need to clean their act up and stop hiring moderators who allow CP material on their site.
This is a very nice place for discovering photographers, artists and writers. I'd say a fair portion of it features people who draw in a anime/manga inspired style or a lot of the artwork are very illustrative based. Most of it are quite good however and you can order prints of certain pictures/artwork which I think is a nice way of customizing your home if you're one of those people who hate being mainstream :). I've never actually ordered any so I can't vouch for the quality of the paper and ink. They also have an apparel section.
For aspiring artists of any sort, it's a useful place to keep an online and interactive portfolio as well as gain inspiration and tips from many people. It's also a nice way to make some money from prints as I mentioned, if you're looking to sell and need a platform. They also offer the choices of greeting, postcard and puzzle in some instances. Apparently, to view what perks you get for subscribing and being a deviant premium member, you have to sign up (annoying!) so that's why one less star!
This used to be a fun site. However the moderates have started targeting and banning people who disagree with them. Abd the new Eclipse change to the site makes is almost totally useable
I like the service - you can see just amazing things at times (together with some childish pictures lol). Just try it and I bet you won`t be disappointed!
Hi, i've been on deviantart since before eclipse, and let me tell ya nothing was this bad. I can forgive needing to re-add features, and a month without a certain bug getting fixed... BUT IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS! All subgalleries in newly made folders dissapear in edit gallery mode, I've contacted deviantart support so many times and nothing has changed. I can edit the subgallery upon creation, but the moment i exit and re-enter, they seemingly don't exist in edit mode. You can see the subgallery in normal view, I can put art in it, it's there, it exists.
Oh, let's not forget they're going to switch to web3 which is block chain dependant. Unsecure, slow, nft ridden and full of con men and scam artists saying "It's the future of the web." I'm so close to leaving entirely, I'm only staying for one reason. I can't make an art role playing group like I can on deviantArt.
Screw deviantart, screw blockchain, and screw two years of bugged galleries!
Here's the thing about DA... it's extremely complicated to categorize, just like art itself. DA basically boils down to, "What is art?" DA is like the single source on the entire planet where that question is fought (besides the whole video game art situation.)
So when you go to DA, plan on trying to realize that art is extremely subjective and just because you don't like what you see, or are offended... that's too bad. Art is art and it boils down to intention.
So are you going to see great art? Yeah. Will you see a lot of adult content? Yeah. Will you see everything in between? Yep. Does the adult content filter work? Most of the time. Can you get the moderators to take care of business when there are seriously violent / criminal acts being posted? Yes but they're a tad on the slow side due to staffing. They seem to get to it about as fast as Twitter does.
DA is only ever going to be as mature as the people that visit. As long as a mature audience is there holding the line, DA is going to be the beacon for art on the internet but if we get frustrated and leave we're going to lose it and never get it back again.
Please come to DA, help keep it clean and in perspective where your knowledge is strongest, otherwise try not to be offended just because you don't like something. And if you see something violent, do the right thing and report it.
Basically, screwing the site up more and more despite the massive backlashes that they received for not asking beforehand. Even when they got a loud "no", they still do it anyway! Shame on them!
Deviantart is a good place if you want to promote your works somewhere, considering how the site is centered around business rather than community-orientated.
Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good. I feel the layout is a generic a copy of Behance, notes and chats suffer from glitches, the notification system is confusing as hell — every time I have to clear messages by ticking a box until that stupid red blob is gone. Additionally, I don't know where some links are until I hear it from someone else, like manage deviations.
I also don't get feedback on my work unless it's fanart, fetish, or if I feature it in groups. Other than that, your chances of getting some exposure is slim.
My own profile will also be assaulted with ads that promote Core membership, which is just unwarranted. It's also worse that Deviantart offers PRIORITY customer service to core members, meaning if you're a regular member, it will take unnecessarily longer before you're finally being attended to. What if something happened to that member that needed immediate attention?
The users there are not who you'd want to interact with in real life either. I also got a response from someone saying they would have liked me if my profile pic didn't feature an anime character. What does that even mean?
I deactivated my account a week ago, and I'm probably never returning. Somehow it has too much and too less going on that it's not easy to take it seriously.
Great resource for images of all types. At this site there is: Digital Art, Traditional Art, Photography, Artisan Crafts, Literature, Film & Animation, Flash, Designs & Interfaces, Customization, Cartoons & Comics, Manga & Anime, Anthro, Fan Art, Resources & Stock Images, Community Projects, Contests, deviantWEAR Design Battles, Journals, and a few other odds and ends. It is a vast collection of digital material and a useful resource for any project you might have going on.
I have not even begun to scratch the surface of what this site has to offer.
Advertisements are unobtrusive and navigation is simple. Great site!
REASONS TO USE:
[1] Vast collection of digital material
[2] Simple site navigation and free membership
[3] Unobtrusive ads
REASON TO LOSE:
None.
I got 2 negative criticism on my artwork. It would be okay, if they were right, and came from people who are better than me. I would thank them, and try to improve.
However, these came from people who draw like 5 year olds and consider selfies as art. I sent them comments on their ''artwork'' too, pointing out what they did wrong and what should be improved, added. I did this in a normal manner, not like a jerk.
They got so mad and sent me hate comments even on facebook. Lol.
If you can't handle criticism, why do you criticize others in the first place?
Or at least criticize people who are below/on your level.
I like that there are plenty of groups. I even found people who do blood paintings.
The search feature could be improved.
Admins don't do their job at all.
People steal other's pictures.
They make other DA accounts with your drawings or use them on facebook as their own. You can put DA watermark on the pictures when you upload them but it's not very visible.
I would suggest to edit your pics and put your facebook link on them before uploading them to DA. Less people will steal them.
I've been a member of the dA community since 2009 and honestly I loved it up until the moment WIX bought them out. At that moment the staff just stopped caring. They offer beta testing for website updates but don't bother to even reply to the reviews given to them by their beta testers. They've even blocked the option to share public opinions of the websites updates. Everything they've done the past few years just sceams that they don't care anymore.
Their new website layout isnt the worst thing in the world, but its buggy and not ready to leave beta testing. Its not even original, they are just taking the coding from a different website WIX runs and copying and pasting it with little to no changes.
They do nothing to prevent art theft in their community, and they allow trolls and bully's to run rampant in the community. You cant even report art theft unless you pay a $10 fee to file legal action to take down the stolen art.
They don't even support their young artists and new members to the community. They host contests but the same 10 or so famous artists win each time. They only feature art from their long standing big named artists repeatedly so it is next to impossible to make a name for yourself in the community.
I could go on for days with a long list of reasons the WIX takeover has ruined dA, but bottom line is that it isnt worth bothering to make an account on this website anymore unless you want to be ignored by staff and dont want to be taken seriously as an artist.
Your website is very easy and practical to use and your clients' services are very fast and effective. But I am not satisfied with you because of your low-speed website loading page.
I tried deviant art and I love it but Deviantart eclipse is the worst I would rather stick with the original Deviantart so everyone please do not I repeat not use Deviantart eclipse it will make it hard for you as a deviant.
1st a buddy got his art swiped by a klepto called medek1 who put his CR on it, then he got kicked 4 complaining. I went & ULed stuff 2 show medek1 was swipin stuff from others, THEY KICKED ME OFF CLAIMIN I'M A SPAMMER! Went 2 appeal, they say 2 log in 2 continue but ya CAN'T LOG IN 2 APPEAL!
Then ya got s***loads of artists getting kicked 4 nothin while they let pics of naked kids stay up, wantin a link 2 another site 2 prove they're kids!
SHUT EM DOWN!
Members midnight-designed said to all deviantart pretty look girls u must use other girl photo u must not be pretty u r using other girls photos not ur photo u must also be ugly like me
Oh, dA, dA, dA... where do I start? I love art and designs. And Deviantart, several years ago, was such a GREAT site for professionals and art enthusiasts. It has an open gallery for everyone to see. They have prints, forum, members can give comments and *fave* the artwork. Some of the works displayed were AMAZING. But it's going downhill lately. They have a silly new layout that takes a little time for members to adapt, and I don't know why for the last couple of years, it seems like dA is infested with Anime Fantards that did nothing but the low quality 'Fan-Art'. Seriously. Do we have to see 'naruto' or 'bleach' character everytime we tried to enjoy some quality artworks? No, I don't mean to bash Anime. Anime art is fine, but to be so un-original and to produce nothing but Fan-Arts is an Insult to the supposedly 'Art' website. But then again, it's a community website. Another downside is the lack of art theft control. I'm still a member and I use watermarks and no download policy to protect my artworks. For aspiring artist, dA is a great place to build your portfolio, but remember to give your art some protection. Overall, dA could be a much better site, but still decent enough for young & budding artists.
Answer: They not care cyberbully
Answer: I've been on dA since 2009 and have already lost so much business due to the layout changes. So many previous customers are jumping ship because of how bad the website changes are.
DeviantArt has a rating of 2.1 stars from 157 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with DeviantArt most frequently mention and core membership. DeviantArt ranks 488th among Graphic Design sites.
