ConsumerLab has been instrumental in my decision-making around nutrition and supplements. There are so many misleading or outright false claims about supplements, so having access to evidence-based information is critical. Keep up the good work. It helps people.
I appreciate the information shared on Consumer Lab and use it before making any supplement purchases. I do wish they were able to test more products in each area and provide updates for those products ranked as a best but are no longer available.
Thank you for that nice review, Connie. We're glad that you appreciate our work.
In general my experience is looking up whatever information CU Lab presents and it has always been informative and helpful.
I have no experience with any personal questions at time.
You do a good job!
Thank you, Patricia. We're glad that you are enjoying CL!
As a member from early on, I happily keep up my membership for peace of mind. With no way of knowing what's actually in a product underneath the sales hype and glitzy packaging, I've been known to look things up while shopping. Who doesn't love a company that removes the worry factor? Because toxic ingredients are in our everyday products—i am grateful that ConsumerLab vets under-regulated products for us all.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Suzy. Thanks for the great review!
ConsumerLab.com is an invaluable tool for me when I'm going to purchase vitamins and other supplements. Their evaluations
Are extremely thorough and unbiased. Besides reviewing the most popular brands, ConsumerLab provides a great deal of
Scientific data as part of each review. I recommend this website to everyone... definitely worth the more-than-reasonable cost of membership!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Arlene. We are happy that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support!
Consumer lab is an invaluable resource for anyone contemplating taking vitamins or other supplements.
Their comprehensive information from reporting on research into efficacy and side effects to independent testing of ingredients is critical for consumers awash in a sea of unsubstantiated claims.
We're glad that you enjoy ConsumerLab.com. Thank you for posting your comments.
If you want the best detailed & unbiased information about the supplements you are interested in, look no further. The only agenda here is to give all the FACTS about this unregulated area. PLUS get brand name product comparisons with prices. Can't tell you how much I rely on this service. Saved me tons of money. Kept me from falling for products that won't do what the advertising indicates.
We're glad to have you as a member, Cindy! Thanks for your review.
I realize you can't test every product/brand out there. That being said, I seem to be using brands of vitamins/supplements that more often than not, are not included in your testing (I was previously a member, but dropped my membership for this reason. I recently signed up again, but am finding the same situation).
We're glad to have you as a member, Cheryl! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions and questions about brands you would like tested in the future.
I have been a member of this web-based service for two years and have renewed my membership for additional years. ConsumerLab fully delivers its promise: to identify the best quality health and nutritional products through independent testing. I'm a university professor and I found ConsumerLab reviews scientifically and technically accurate. Furthermore, the results are effectively summarised and explained in ways that they can be easily understood by anybody. I also like the regular test updates, information on product recalls, and answers to questions of the members. I would not take a supplement without first checking ConsumerLab reports.
I'm a scientist and tend to maintain a healthy skepticism of supplements--especially those that make overly strong claims. But there are a few that my doctors have directed me to take. In addition, I have a couple of health issues that conventional medicine hasn't yet been completely successful in treating. ConsumerLab provides an excellent summary of the research available for a number of common supplements. They also point out potential interactions and cautions for people with certain conditions. I appreciate the comparisons of common brands so that I can make sure to get what I'm paying for and also choose the most economical product.
To be honest, I had planned to look up as many supplements and I could during the free 5-day trial and then cancel, but I'm finding it too useful!
We're glad to have you as a member, Lisa! Thanks for your review. You can always feel free, as can any member, to shoot us suggestions and questions that we might answer in our CL Answers section.
I became aware of ConsumerLab.com while reading my Nutrition Action newsletter. It has been so helpful in assisting me on what products to get and which to avoid. These two companies are my Bible for nutrition, physical fitness and overall health. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing!
Thank you very much for sharing that, Edna. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
An MD originally mentioned consumerlab.com so I began subscribing about 8 years ago. I've learned a lot. In addition to test results on supplements, the site provides valuable background information and even some health-related alerts before I hear about it on the news.
Thank you for letting us know, Dianne. It’s always nice to hear how our information is helping our members.
I like to keep up with ConsumerLab reviews for the latest information that includes 'specific products'. As a pharmacologist with lots of regulatory experience, I still like to do my own research before interpreting results and drawing conclusions about product categories, but your reviews are a good starting place. I often refer friends there when they ask me for advice about their medical problems and treatments. While I don't always agree with the rather conservative conclusions and over influence of the most recent scary headline from the mainstream, I know that at least this advice won't get anyone into medical trouble.
Many topics to choose from that allows me to find the best value in nutritional supplements. In-depth studies and results charts make my job easier to research a particular topic. Overall, very satisfied with my subscription.
Thank you for that nice review, Tom. We're glad that you appreciate our work.
Being retired, I live on limited funds. I'm very grateful to check the purity and efficacy of supplements before I spend my coins. What is worse than a supplement not giving any benefit is Paying for that supplement then receiving no or detrimental effect. I am thrilled that I can rely on the independent reviews, analyses, and reports provided by ConsumerLab to utilize knowledgeable purchasing power.
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, Charlotte. Thanks for letting us know.
Excellent source of information about health and nutrition-related products. Grateful for links to both peer-reviewed articles and grey literature in areas of emerging knowledge. Disappointed sometimes that my brand is not included in a review (even when of large market share - e.g. Nature's Bounty vitamins and others).
We're glad that you are enjoying your membership to ConsumerLab, John. Thanks for letting us know.
As a long-time subscriber, i appreciate Consumer Lab because they don't just publish the headlines/bottom line behind the scientific study, they cite whether the research was performed on animals or people, how many participants started, and type of study—cross blind, double blind, observation, etc. I'M sure more studies are available, but I feel they do a good job of covering most of the medical journals.
We're glad to hear that ConsumerLab.com is helpful to you, Judi. Thank you for your review!
I reviewed this website thoroughly. There is so much to see and experience when it comes to medical knowledge and the type of medicines that you would not think of researching. You can receive a free subscription to their emails but if you want more in depth information, you have to pay. I'll do just fine with Google.
Consumerlab site is a great resource for assessing supplements and meds; good to know they are out there and making the manufacturers tow the line... knowing someone is watching. I am a "believer" and use a number of supplements and have benefitted from them. But I do want to know that these products are clean, free of contaminants, and contain what the label says. My one criticism is Consumerlab's habit of emphasizing (headlining) one or two incidences of possible side effects of a supplement that is probably used by tens or hundreds of thousands of people. These cases might be worth mentioning, but it should be noted that one or a very few possible adverse effects are hardly relevant to the majority of users. If prescription medicines from pharmaceutical companies were held to such a standard, there would be no drugs available at all.
Thank you very much for sharing that, Jim. We are very glad that you appreciate the work we are doing. We appreciate your support.
ConsumerLab was a recommendation from my functional medicine MD. This site has been very helpful in assessing the usefulness of a supplement, checking for side effects and interactions, and choosing the most reliable brand for each. More open than the traditional med sites but very informative on valid research. Invaluable!
Thanks for letting us know, Jennifer. That's exactly why we are here.

Answer: There is no single best supplement or brand. It's best to focus on the type of supplement you are looking for, e.g., multivitamin, fish oil, probiotic, herbal) and read our Product Review for that specific category and see which product is our Top Pick for that category. Here is a list of our current reports: https://www.consumerlab.com/results/
