ColoGuard is a scam. Sounds great: you send a stool sample in a cup vs. undergoing a more intensive colonoscopy. The problem is that ColoGuard isn't accurate. Another problem is that many insurance companies will not allow subscribers to get another test the same year or even up to a 10-year period if they have had a ColorGuard test. Skip this test, get a real colonoscopy and take care of your health. This is just a scam to help insurance companies keep more $ from premiums: it's an excuse for insurance companies not to cover colonoscopies. The fact that ColoGuard doesn't provide any helpful data (e.g., if proteins or blood is found) demonstrates this is not a serious test. I won't be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit in the future for ColoGuard. For now, whoever cooked up this scheme is laughing all the way to the bank. And don't believe their nonsense that a colonoscopy is covered after a positive ColoGuard test result--it's not true. You are basically giving up your right to a covered colonoscopy (normally a wellness benefit that is 100% covered) by getting this ridiculous test that is often inaccurate and doesn't provide any health info whatsoever.
It's not covered and I had to pay $485 of the $600 and even my doctor told me it would considered preventative care. That's all bull$#*!, they are gonna rape you and your insurances won't cover it. Steer clear from these scumbags!
This place is a joke, hard to understand likely out of the country call center. After doing the deed. I try to schedule a pickup. Their website doesn't work, so I had to call. They laughingly tell me to leave it on my porch for pickup. No UPS driver ever showed for 2 days. Then they tell me it's no good after 96 hours and I'll have to do it again. I said I'm not doing it again. Can't watch see what it costs me.
I sent in the box were you know you do all the work with the swab, and first they was a lady l couldnt understand with her accent with my results, but then l get a letter with still no results but a qr code only saying scan for results, another crock of whats in there boxes but then l tried chatting with them online and answered all 10 questions right and instead of him telling me he sends me back to were l started and so l tried second time same thing and ive still not got my results so good luck with your results on your test with there results being what your sending them in the box!
This was sent to me through my Drs office, I called my insurance company and thank goodness my insurance didn't get billed! They stated they only got billed if I actually do the test, which I will not be doing! Let's take this seriously, urine, feces has all of a person's DNA in it, and we have no clue who's working in this laboratory, a bit risky, and most importantly, how long do they actually let your specimen sit, before they test it, no way I trust this
I was ordered a Cologuard by my physician again. I had one sent to me in 2011. I received a letter to call them. I called them and was informed if I pay $382.00 I can get order immediately if not I will have to wait until (3) year anniversary date for it to be sent to me. It's obvious to me that the company is more concerned about making a profit than any possible health concern I have. This is just information only and do not let them scam you.
I took the colonguard test and received a false positive. I was scared to death that I had colon cancer. I scheduled to receive a colonoscopy and thank God It came back negative. I would urge everyone just to get a colonoscopy to be totally safe.
Recently did the cologuard test and received a positive result. Of course now I have the worry of cancer on my mind until I scheduled my colonoscopy as recommended. Do yourself a favor and skip the Cologuard! Mine was a false positive and many are it seems after the age of 65. I'm 70 and my colonoscopy was squeaky clean. Save yourself $700 cologuard kit and just get the colonoscopy! By the way Cologuard hounds you until you submit your test! Big red flag!
Had a positive test so had to do a colonoscopy. Cost me $2 grand. Turned out to be a false positive. Before my procedure, many of the providers expressed their negative opinion of Coliguard. They suggested using another product due to the many false positives.
I am an attorney. I have been with very reputable mid-sized firms. I am now practicing from home as a sole practitioner. I followed all of Cologuard's instructions to the letter. I timely sent my sample. Cologuard never acknowledged receipt, so I followed up. I had a UPS confirmation of delivery. In fact, Cologuard had arranged to have it picked up.They claimed to never have received it. Never their fault, even with UPS' confirmation. Not once did they admit fault and certainly did not apologize for my inconveniences. I will now opt for a colonoscopy. I would counsel not to bother with Cologuard. Their inefficiency, loss of records, and rudeness is appalling. Not worth the bother.
I would not use cologuard again. Twice their test was positive. My Dr said first the positive might have been wrong. So I took the test again. Second was also positive. Now the problem came down to being able to schedule a colonoscopy. I was very concerned and getting an apt was difficult. The colonoscopy was negative. The Dr actually did 2 colonoscopies on me because of 2 positive tests. Both negative. Cologuard cost me a lot of unneeded anxiety, and expense.
My insurance and I paid for this expensive box. I finally did it with much anxiety before the expiration on the box and went through the humiliation of sending it in. They called to tell me they discarded my sample because the doctor's prescription for it was expired. So, instead of them calling the doctor's office, they just discarded it. I told them that was very disappointing and got a heartless, cold, programmed apology. Then they said they want me to have my doctor order a new one. Why, so I can pay again and go through all that. No, no, no, and no. No, thank you. Feels scammy.
No offense to first-graders, but the Cologuard folks communication skills rank right there with first-graders! Nag, nag, nag. Texts never addressed me by name. Talk about feeling disrespected!
And to top it all off, collecting the stool sample was a nightmare… God help you if you poop out too much, cuz you'll have to scoop out enough for the disinfectant to be able to cover it. Talk about adding insult to injury!
And for what? The sample to be tested is securely in a small vial. Seems the collection of additional material is simply to justify how much they charge for the test. What good is a handful of stool soaking in disinfectant, all contaminated with whatever was needed to get the right amount in the pot?
This was my first time agreeing to a Cologuard test...and the LAST time.
I was stubborn and took a cologuard test rather than a colonoscopy. I was due. I had no symptoms at all. Cologuard came back positive based on DNA or blood. That is all they tell you. All impossible to get an appointment for a colonoscopy but I got one and lo and behold the cologard test gave a false positive. I worried until I got my colonoscopy that I was dying. Turns out false positives are very common. Skip the test and get a colonoscopy. The test and company are useless. Never again
RESULTS CAME BACK ABNORMAL. I COULD'NT GET A COLONOSCOPY SCHEDULED FOR 3 MONTHS. SO MUCH WORRYING AND ANXIETY UNTIL FINALLY COLONOSCOPY REVEALED NOT 1 POLYP, PERFECTLY NORMAL COLON. WHAT A JOKE, FALSE POSITIVE. THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!
Received a kit last week which I didn't order nor did my physician. It is now resting in the trash can. Seems more like a scam than a benefited exam test.
This product is all about marketing and has nothing to do with "exact science." The box that showed up had enough information on it that let the whole UPS team what was shipped. My 12 y/o son was asking about "human specimen" written on the box. I received at least 3 texts, 3 emails and a phone call from these clowns. That's when I decided to check what it was all about. Terrible reviews, too many false positives, I mean no wonder it is RX only, clinics probably get a cut for pushing colonoscopies for people not comfortable with it due to all false positives these clowns are known for. They should be sued for malpractice. Total scam!
I refuse to do my screening this way based on customer reviews. Honestly the song they sing is offensive as I've heard. Frank Sinatra never intended to have such an emotional song used for a colon commercial. Talk about tacky! No respect in my opinion. I bawled my eyes out when it sung during my father's funeral and to hear it in this manner is horrible.
Last December 2022 I took the test. It came back negative. This August I started having problems. Went to the emergency room. They did a CT scan. A tumor was detected. On August 28 I had a tumor and part of my colon removed. Luckily it was stage two and had not spread. I would suggest doing a colonoscopy first, then later do the box. I was told it can't detect cancer when there is no blood in the stool. Take this seriously. I'm 68 and the first in my family to have colon cancer. My sister is having a colonoscopy Monday October 2 2023.
The the biggest insurance scam in the world doctors make a whopping killing on this business they billed my insurance company over $700. The biggest scam I gave them five stars because if you give them one story readers will never ever see it they know how to move things around
Answer: Feel the same way, I am going to end up paying with my life! Thanks Colonguard!
