Signed up for 3 Day free trial, found the answers were in accurate and incomplete. Study guides were unhelpful. Cancelled within trial period and still charged for one month. Appears to be a SCAM.
Tried speaking to a Supervisor because my card was charged out of the blew and I was unaware until today and they wouldn't even give me a REFUND. I REPEAT do not use Chegg they are very sneaky and will just continuously charge you when your not looking. By far the WORST customer service ever
I used Chegg to help with questions that I was stuck on and let me just tell you the answers you will get are below par of what is acceptable since I was an actual paying customer. Now onto the big issue:
I first paid $9.95 for the Chegg writing subscription, wasn't too impressed with it at that point so I went to cancel and they offered me a good price of $4.94 (1 month) for the Chegg study pack. It was still useful to me for classes so $5 didn't seem all that much for a month. My plan was to cancel before the next regular payment of $19.95/mo. I ended up missing the cancel date and paid the $19.95. That was my fault so I don't blame Chegg for that. I unsubscribed from my plan that day.
I went to check my credit card today and noticed 4 payment from Chegg that were all on two dates, which was suspicious. I looked more into it and saw that I was charged $15.96 twice on the same day in October. I'm pretty sure the first $9.95 payment was charged to my bank card so that's why that amount isn't on the statement provided in the picture. I called Chegg and spoke to the representative, she explained that the $15.96 was apart of the Chegg study pack. So pretty much Chegg told me the good price of $4.94 (to get me to stay with them) was not just $4.94 but $4.94 + a random amount of $15.96. She also explained that that second payment of $15.96 was a holding fee and I was only charged the one payment of $15.96. The representative understood my frustration and gave me a refund of the $15.96 and $4.94 to a total refund of $20.90. (The best part of this whole experience was the call representative being calm and very respectful!)
Honestly Chegg is not worth the results you get. They are half $#*! answers that usually do not answer everything that you put in the question or just gives you a totally different answer of what you asked.
I was going to provide some of the terrible answers that they give you but when I thought about that I was already removed from the subscription. As when I was expressing my concerns with how I was charged an amount I never said yes to, the representative said that I would loose all access to my account subscription (that day) if I confirmed the refund, even though I paid the subscription of $19.95 and should of still had access to it till Dec. 5th. But honestly this whole situation is not worth my time and should have realized what a a scam of company this was sooner.
CHEGG is NOT worth it. Upcharges you and will lock you out of your account. It's a headache just to log in and most essential material is not on there.
They could not find plagiarism when I knew there was some. Then you can't cancel your subscription. When you do find away to contact them, they tell you to go to the help center and the help
Center gives wrong instructions
It's worse than the previous update. It was not easy to find solutions in the searching part; they made it more difficult. Tutors take too long to answer questions and miss the important part of the ques. Not worth the money. Sometimes have to post the same question again and again to get the right anwer. They should first update their app..
NO refunds even 10 minutes after purchase. Scam company wildly inaccurate answers. STAY AWAY from them completely, they will not give you your money back and give you only WRONG answers to the questions you want to look at
The customer service sucks. I was told false information and when i asked to talk to the manager, he simply told me to stop using chegg? They call themselves 'experts' but 80% of the answers are incorrect.
Worst service ever. Banned my account for no reason and couldn't get a refund. I used it for less than a day and customer support couldn't do anything.
I purchased two items from Chegg for an event, however both were too big. I requested a smaller replacement. I was charged, twice for the return and I have not returned nothing. Out a $100.00.
The validity of answers only works around 80% of the time. You can not have it open on both your phone and laptop at the same time without them putting your account on hold, even if there is one person. Customer service is absolutely useless, I both texted the support number and called the support number trying to get my account reinstated as I had broken none of the community guidelines, and they both said they couldn't do anything and in a nice way told me more or less that it was my fault and that I should just know better next time. If you have the option to, absolutely do not use chegg, almost any other academic study site is better and I've had nothing but issues in my time with them.
Dont waste your money please! I was charged 20USD! They wont send you email or notification before renewal or anything. They wont help you once they have money. Useless site, dont fall for it.
This website is pure $#*!, you pay 20 dollar per month and it kept asking u to swap the device u using.
It asked me to swap device i registered before, like its ok, but after i registered it, it still asking for swap.
Its like they dont care about user experience at all.
Other utilities, and overall response time is piece of $#*! aswell.
Bought the subscription and decided to cancel the very next day and they are still charging me for the whole month. They have zero flexibility and worst tone ever. They do not know how to deal with customer's problem and just want to charge you for the service you didnt use!
I purchased the membership without reading the reviews. Lesson learned! It is a scam! As soon as I paid, I went on to ask a question… it takes a while to have your question answered and you only get a limited number of questions per month! Do not waste your money! I canceled soon after purchasing and I was still not given a refund!
You must realize that a huge percentage of people trying to learn are in school and don't have $20 a month to spend on what should be free!
There's no more active tutor now compared before I tried to post question last week and until now there's no tutor is helping me doing my homework...
Caution: I strongly advise avoiding this website. Not only was my experience with them deeply unsatisfying, but there are also numerous red flags that suggest scam activities. Please save your time, money, and potential headaches by steering clear...
Every question I want to search there is no answer to it and I have to wait for someone to do it which takes a long time.
I was very disappointed with my books I received from chegg. Being a used book I expected slight damage for the price of my books. However I did not expect my books to have ripped pages, and severe damage to the cover of my books. I highly recommend you consider other options before settling on this one.
Answer: Half real half scam wil work for a day or 2 then lock you out
Answer: The monthly money is for an additional service. You can opt out of it at the time of your order. Supposedly. Check other reviews. Many of them say they were still charged after canceling the service. My best suggestion is to stay away from Chegg if at all possible.
