STEER CLEAR BUY YOUR BIKE FROM ANOTHER COMPANY! DO NOT USE
Awful company when an item arrived damaged they send us a link of how to fit the item and say heres a link so you can purchase it yourself! Really the bike arrived with a part that they had apparently checked? Not very well obviously and 2 parts dropped out of the end bent and apparently we have fitted it incorrectly. I do not think so. I feel anyone with similar issues to me should get together and put a law suit against the company as it is just not acceptable to send a brand new bike with broken parts and then not accept liability.
Awful awful awful
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY
The site clearly stated cut off times for next day delivery. I ordered well within time as i had broken some parts on my bike and needed to replace them in a hurry for a trip down south the next day. I could have gone to a local bike store but chose CRC instead. The order didn't arrive the next day. I missed a pre booked day at the bike park and scheduled night ride as well as a hell of a lot of messing to amend trains and hotels.
I tried to contact CRC a total number of 6 times to resolve this issue. It's taken till now… 10/01/2024 to only have my postage refunded (which will take 5 days to refund) and CRC have now washed their hands of the issue….
I wasn't expecting them to refund me for all my expenses as that's a little far but a little voucher for £10 or free next day delivery on my next order or something as an apology would have been great but to only offer my postage back after the issue has been dragged out by them for 23 days i think is just unacceptable.
1400 Euros order haven't arrived in over 2 weeks.
Order placed on 5 august, writing this on 24. So almost a month and my order has not arrived.
Contacted them 2 times, both times waited until they're said, still nothing. Contacted them a 3rd time, no response in 2 days.
The DPD delivery info / status is stating that my order in in France since the dispatch, seems like it's stuck there & last update was on 19 august.
Order was estimated to be delivered on 16 August (6-8 days)
I'm located in Bucharest, Romania.
Bought a Nukeproof MTB from CR at a great price but was sent with the wrong thru axle and other extras. Sent with Rox Shox and Sram extras but the bike has Fox and Shimano kit on. That was resolved after a couple of weeks after a trip to my local bike shop to diagnose the fault but then on my first ride the fox fork collapsed and lost pressure. Had to send the fork back for a warranty claim which took around 4 weeks to resolve but in the end I am now very pleased with the bike and especially with the knock down price I paid for it on 24 months interest free credit.
We ordered presents for our kids (trainers) that still have not turned up after 3 weeks! Never received a tracking number either. No customer service phone number, just poor live chat reps who have no interest in helping. Do not buy from these cowboys
This is a chinese scam site. They took my money and I never received the item paid for. Jump ahead 6 weeks and they refund me $9.99 of the $105 I spent for nothing. DO NOT SHOP HERE Chainreaction is a scam
Took my money and then CR cancel the order on their end because of an IT problem. Don't understand why they just can't then send the item. 3 weeks in and still waiting for Paypal to credit my account. What a hassle. Thanks CR for wasting my time.
Embarrassing delivery service. They keep using Evri and the delivery timeline has massively deteriorated. The customer service try to justify them which makes even more annoying the customer experience. I paid for next day delivery and will likely receive the parcel with a 3 days delay
Read the return policy carefully. They will deduct restocking fees for any reason. Even if there is a fault, they won't return for full price. They will at best force you to file a warranty claim which they have sole discretion over. Terrible company and deceptive deals. Think you are getting a modern component? Nope, it's from 2013 and sod by nobody but Chain Reaction and the parent company Wiggle.
Where to start, if I could give zero stars I would.
I ordered a £99 frame they sent me a £600 carbon frame, when I contacted them I was told I had to give the the dimensions of the box along with the weight (not easy) then tell them which day I was going to be in between 8am and 6pm then I had to photograph the collection and send it to them before they would send my original order. Treating me like a criminal when in reality I saved them £500 with my honesty as other people may have just kept quiet. No thanks or discussion just an automated response. As it fell around a bank holiday I am looking at 3 weeks to get the frame I originally ordered.
Poorest of the poorest customer service ever, bar none. I could go on but you get the idea, corporate vacuum them doesn't care about you really.
Ordered a bike and pedals that were in stock on their website using the CycleScheme. Was later told it wasn't in stock, only a different size, this was via email at around 7:00 at night. I said i would go for the larger size, but after investigating further, the larger size was not going to be suitable. I asked them to cancel the order before they redeemed the CycleScheme voucher. As they don't reply to emails until out of working hours, I stupidly assumed cancelling the order wouldn't be an issue, and proceeded to order the correct size from another supplier. But no, they proceeded to redeem the voucher and email me back after ignoring what i had said and deliver the bike anyway, to the wrong address, and the pedals would be delivered separately, also to the wrong address. Luckily i managed to stop the bike delivery, which was on its way to the billing address, not the delivery address specified. I have had to call the other supplier who has built my correct bike, and they are keeping it for me until i can sort out what to do about the CycleScheme voucher. So in a nutshell, Chain Reaction don't reply to emails during the day or they don't even read emails, they don't keep their stock up to date on their website, the send pedals via a different courier to the bike (surely it would be easier to put the pedals in the box with the bike?), and they don't read orders correctly and send your items to the billing address rather than the delivery address. If you want a new bike, for goodness sake use someone else.
When I read the reviews posted here, I had doubts about ordering from this company. Then I chatted with someone at Chain Reaction Cycles who was extremely helpful. So, I decided to take the risk, and placed an order. The package was promptly posted via DHL on 4/1 and it arrived on 4/5.
I'm glad I took the chance and have bookmarked this company for future purchases.
Still waiting 4 months plus for "crash replacement" part that should of been under warranty and I ended up paying for. Not to mention the $70 in store credit for receiving damaged bike. Bent rotor, 4 bent/broke spokes, scratched frame, bent derailleur hanger. Wow thanks
A phone call would have sorted the problem. They cancelled my order because item was not in stock even though it was in stock when i ordered.
I ordered a sram brake calliper and a calliper bracket. They sent calliper bracket but no brake calliper.
The bracket was for the calliper they cancelled so totally no good. But they sent it anyway lol. Charged a £5 for postage too.
I am a student and had no more cash, now i have to wait until the refund came back 5 days later. I needed the brake calliper urgently thats why i paid for next day postage. Lol.
If they would have rung i would have told em to replace with different item.
This company is the worst wouldn't cancel an order after less than a day replying to them. They are liars only want your money!
I have been ordering bike stuff from them for years now and lately I am trying to stay away from them but they had Vittoria tires on sale so I ordered them and something that you usually would receive in few days can now take weeks, it's usually not their fault but their customer service when you try to get things like this sorted is horrible, they're just not worth, if you can try making deals with your local bike shop that's my friendly advice.
Very disappointed. Order 3 weeks ago. Nothing. I might as well sent my money to Nigeria to that nice man that phones you from time to time.
If you live in the US, and want your orders to get to you in 2 weeks (that's the type of service they use with P2P Trakpak), with no real tracking and expected delivery date, then by all means order from Chain Reaction. This to me is tremendous disrespect to customers, and I urge you not to shop with them.
After contacting customer service via e-mail, and getting a response very quickly,
I ordered a Selle Italia MAX Flite Gel Flow saddle from them last Friday, September 24th. It arrived at my home, in New Jersey USA, the next Thursday, September 30th!
Here are the details:
Date Ordered Order Number Order Status Order Total
23 September, 2021 CRC*******646 SHIPPED $80.99
Very disappointing. Order was for a saddle as the rails on my one had broken. CRC promptly despached my order. No issue there.
Now to the problem... The courier (hermes) had my order 5 days in transit and then for some reason when the order was at my local depot (only twenty miles away!) three days on the trot hermes cancelled the delivery after notifying me several times that my order was due to be delivered at a stated timeslot.
When I contacted CRC to complain all they offered to do was contact the courier and ask them what the problem was. This they said could take 5 days or more! When I asked CRC to cancel the order and have the order returned and send me out a replacement to let me get back on my bike they refused. That is not our policy they said.
What happened to good old customer service CRC? My contract was with you and not the courier. I should not be inconvenienced by the couriers failings. Why did you not do the proper and decent thing and make me a happy customer and send off a replacement?
This is what it says on CRCs website.
"CRC exists to deliver a world class shopping experience to cyclists around the globe, offering the lowest prices on everything you need to feed your cycling habit, and delivering directly to you with no fuss."
It then goes on to say...
"Fast Delivery We work around the clock to dispatch your order quickly and then pass your goods to the best carriers in the world."
30/9/21 I still don't have my saddle
Answer: Yes. My bike was received with one end of the box fully open, and this caused movement of the bike in transit, resulting in the chain falling off and catching tight between the frame and the chainrings. This resulted in a bent chainset and 3 months of hassle getting ti resolved. STRESS!
Answer: CHAIN REACTION CYCLES is headquartered in beautiful Belfast, magnificent Northern Ireland, fantastic UK!
