Bought a mountain bike from Wiggle June 2018, bike received with a bent chainring due to the chain being caught between the frame and the rings upon receipt. This took 3 months to resolve with multiple trips to a local bike shop and multiple attempts to replace the bent rings myself with parts sent by Wiggle (2 wrong, 3rd correct) and some I bought myself in between.

2019, Just ordered a £900 mountain bike from Chain Reaction Cycles and the gears are a total mess out of the box, the bike was unrideable. Same ole story "go and get it tuned and we'll cover the cost up to £30" say CRC. Also, the stem was scratched in 2 places, a dust cap was missing and it only included a spanner, but no other tools nor accessories. Apparently this was checked on the PDI.

And have you tried speaking with live chat support? If I give you my order number, email address and support ticket ID, I do not expect to also be required to give you any other personal details before you'll answer a simple question like "when returning the bike, who is the courier?" which I asked as my parents are handing the bike over for me, they don't want to give it to just anyone do they!

Suffice to say asking me to confirm my address when you already have my order number, email address return ID, ticket ID makes me feel like a criminal. I'm asking a simple question, please don't give me extra work!

I will NOT buy a bike again from the Wiggle-CRC Group.

I'm currently working with Wiggle to get a resolution for a bike I received that was received with an issue. As far as I can workout Yodel courier caused the problem.

When I received the bike, the box was completely open at one end and the chain had come off and was stuck between the frame at the bottom bracket. Was this caused by the open box, or did the courier stop the bike from rolling in transit, by locking the chain?

Either way, the Yodel courier dismissed it and said "the box goes through many pairs of hands and so boxes open" even when huge staples are used? And Wiggle argued for Yodel's limitations which I thought was poor. If yodel has damaged the bike, then they should pay to fix it.

The few times I've ridden the bike I've noticed that the front chain wheels have a small wobble and the chain often struggles to shift up from the smallest to medium chain wheel.

However, I like the bike and would like to find a good outcome.

Apart from low-cost, why do reputable companies such as Wiggle use Yodel?

  • Guru

Set up a project, picked a supplier for a few logos and following the Guru.com terms, transferred money to SafePay which is apparently a secure escrow. NOT! After 10 days I was still awaiting logos as requested and Guru.com "AUTOMATICALLY" transferred the money from SafePay to the supplier without my consent. Why when the project wasn't complete? And they will not refund me. And the logos I have received are absolutely abysmal.

Scamming B*stards. AVOID Guru.com.

I ordered a hoverboard pre-xmas using my Paypal account. Wish.com put the orders on hold as they wanted me to confirm my ID by faxing in various documents. I used a 10 year old Verified Paypal Business account so asking me to provide documents sounds a bit dodgy and provided resistance 101. I cancelled the order and eventually got refunded and closed my account, but they did not want to let this lead go, took them ages. Horrible buying experience.

  • eBay

Ever since John Donahoe joined eBay as their CEO and said "We had to create a vision of the future so people could let go of a very successful past." the site was doomed for the small, honest and exceptional seller. They now want to be Amazon, but the share price is evidence this will never happen.

  • Fiverr

Fiverr scammed me out of $20 when a seller took my money and ran. They didn't deliver and Fiverr kept the money. Yet another candyfloss company based on shoddy ethics and VC backing. The internet stinks at times.
