I got an email that my card issuer declined a charge from Car Shield (monthly auto pay), Car Shield was notified "insufficient funds" while I was notified "incorrect charge, declined". I called card issuer and cancelled the card, then called Car Shield and subscribed for a year of coverage with my debit card. I don't like drama, and try to keep it out of my life. Car shield is a fair and fast coverage plan if you have a "mid life" vehicle, or one just out of factory coverage.

The advertisement states that the cost of a major repair is covered. In the fine print of the contract there are other words that state differently. Other problems lead to my transmission that I did not know. So I had to pay out of pocket. This is false advertisement. I thought it would be completely covered through the contract.

Two recent repairs were not covered; the engine cooling fan and the thermostat housing. People buy this product to protect against financial calamity, but if the wrong thing breaks the coverage is worthless.

Went well. As for repair. But i had to pay out of my pocket more than the $100.00 deductible. The reason for this according to car shield was that the service center hourly labor charge was more than they would pay. I guess in the future i will need to call car shield to let them tell me what repair shop to go to that will accept their amount of pay per hour.

The emergency roadside service part is good. But when the repair facility called in the claim you kept saying no claim was called in. Wasted time for me and repair facility to make a lot of redundant class. The misunderstanding also delayed my repair significantly, causing more loss. I spent a few thousands buying the extended warranty and this warranty barely covers anything. Wasted money and time.
