Always a bargain shopper, I thought it would take advantage of no interest for my Lab's extensive vet bills two years ago. I paid the balance off in the allotted time (Woo Woo). I figured it would be a great card to have since I'm in animal rescue and continually need vet care. But when the new card came in recently and my favorite vet's assistant couldn't get my card to work; I contacted the number on my card. A nasty, condescending customer service representative got me so upset that I paid off the small balance and cancelled the card on the spot.
This company along with Synchrony Bank is maliciously deceptive. Initially they offer an interest free loan. However, my experience was 3/4 of the way through they changed the interest free period from 24 months to 18 months. After calling customer service to try to rectify the time frame to no avail, I opted to pay the principle balance due in full ($2,000). Shortly thereafter I received a bill totaling approx. $4,600. For interest due and they actually applied my $2,000 payment in full toward the $4,600 "interest" due amount! I made every payment "on time" beforehand and the amount of the initial loan was $7,600. They charged 26% interest on the original loan amount! I have written to all parties concerned but have not heard from Care Credit nor Synchrony Bank to date. I will take further legal action. Consumer BEWARE!
Only get if you are certain to pay before the promo ends! Otherwise, its borderline a scam. The worst customer service for a credit card company I have ever had. Reps that barely speak English reading from a script, who "act" like they don't understand and can't help in any way. Not worth the headache or the interest. You will pay double of what the treatment initially cost. NEVER AGAIN
I contacted the customer service and asked if they would provide me with few more weeks to pay off my card and asked if they would hold off on charging me $1000 worth of interest for a few weeks, the customer service rep (Joy) was very rude and said no. This was a promotion. Well they lie because that's not a promotion. They should not have charged me $1000 a month prior the one year 0 interest was over. The rep was rude and when I asked to speak to her supervisor, she placed me on hold and then disconnected the call. WORST Service... Never again am I going to use this type of a card with this company.
Customer service is supposed to be a place where the customer can go to get answers to questions. I cannot understand them when they speak to me. Why can't we speak to someone whose first language is English? I suspect the company knows exactly what they are doing. Making extra money off the consumer.
All I can ever get are Middle Eastern's on the line and I can't understand a word they say. When I say "pardon me?", they get rude. Plus the late fees are ridiculous. My advice: find another lender.
Care Credit is one of the worst companies in the Nation! I had my balance paid down to $500.00 and they charged me 26 99% interest gron the original amount that was used! Wow Never again will I use them! I advice everyone Medical facility that recommend then to STOP!
The worst. They lie promising to remove late fee and then charge interest. I paid $70 interest and late fee on $77 payment when I've had this account for YEARS. Explained my husband's emergency hospital visits and they are heartless.
This has to be illegal and if not unethical and immoral.
Had some dental work done that turned out to be substandard... in pain and had to have it all redone... they couldn't care less... tried to dispute and this silly lady "Rebecca" said the dentist was her customer too... these people are heartless garbage... NEVER STAY AWAY FROM CARE CREDIT!
I have had a care credit card for over 2 years to pay for medical expenses. I always pay over the minimum payment and have been meticulous about paying the promotional balance on time so not to incur any interest payments. A couple of months ago they sent me a new card in the mail. I thought it was just a replacement for my old card, but I began to see interest charges on the account. Surprise! The new card was a Care Credit Card, but they switched me to a CareCredit Mastercard which now had interest charges on new purchases. I waited on the phone for over an hour to get an account representative. He was of no help at all. He said when I started to use the new card, they cancelled my original account and now I had to pay interest. PLEASE BEWARE if they send you a new card in the mail. I am going to pay my balance and I'm done. Scammers!
I received my card a year ago. I received a letter today cancelling my account for " Inactivity". I'm having surgery in August and had planned on using my card for a portion of my bill. Spoke with Customer Service and was told to re-apply. When I voiced my concern about my credit report showing an account closed than re-opened, I was told by the representative that I should have used my card sooner! I will NOT be re-applying, I will stick to my MC or Visa.
I just got approved for my mortgage with no problems. But theae crooks say my credit aint good enough. Um news to me there isnt a thing wrong wuth my credit
I've used my CareCredit twice since I have had it (several years now). I had no problems either time. People need to read the payment policy. DON'T be late with the payment, pay it off within the 6 month, 12 month time that was agreed upon, or sooner, pay at LEAST the minimum amount each month, or better yet, pay more a month! Follow the policy rules and you shouldn't have any problems, simple as that!
Absolutely horrendous service. I had spoken to three representatives in order to ensure that I was going to make monthly payments on my balance. Instead CareCredit decided to pull out the remaining balance all at once. IT WAS UNSOLICITED AND WITHOUT NOTICE. After this enormous mistake, clear deception, and unacceptable decision, the customer service was insulting. The passive aggressive insinuation of being an uninformed customer as well as a liar was something I have never experienced in my lifetime. I canceled the card immediately after paying the money considering they were filibustering the entire conversation and finding endless excuses. After this the tone of the agent decreased afraid of the money they would lose. It is unbelievable how the actions toward a customer is so noticeably money motivated. The words used in this review seem exaggerated and extra, but in fact it's sad how true this review is. I warn people of the fluff reviews on this website as well as others.
We all know companies have their employees give 5 stars TO HELP HORRID RATINGS so dont be fooled! This company is the biggest scam and the worst customer service Ive ever experienced! I would use ANY other method to pay than this company! I paid off my bill in full before same as cash and THEY REFUSE TO SEND ME A PAY OFF LETTER! REALLY! TRUE STORY!
Almost all of the reviews I have read about CareCredit are complaints from people who do not understand how promotional rates work and never bothered to read the information mailed to them.
I first heard of CareCredit through Synchrony Bank when my dog needed surgery. I applied for and received the credit within minutes, right there in the vet's office. When the card came, I read over the information and made sure I paid it off within the time frame we had agreed upon. The payment amount on your bill is the MINIMUM payment required. How someone cannot figure out for themselves how much to pay is beyond me. If you have a 12 month promotional rate, divide the total balance by 12 and pay that amount each month. It's really very simple. People don't want to put any effort into understanding their personal responsibility in matters, and want to blame others for their own laziness.
Last Christmas, I also applied for an Amazon Store Card through Synchrony Bank. I got a promotional rate that worked just like CareCredit. I received an email today warning me that my promotional period would expire next month, so I know I need to pay it off. You see, if you pay online, you can go into your account and allocate how much of your payment goes to the promotional rate and how much goes to other balances. You can set up alerts to remind you when promotional rates expire - lots of things.
So, thank you, Synchrony Bank, for all the interest-free loans! Or perhaps I should be thanking all the one-star reviewers who end up paying all the interest because they couldn't be bothered to take care of their own business. Without people like you paying all that interest, the bank would be out of business!
I used credit care to pay my dental bill. I used almost $2000 and today my bill is more than $2000. 00 even I had been paying my monthly bills on time. They charge me $381.00 in interest rate per month even though I took 24 month interest free loan. This is the scam that credit care plays on people through Synchrony Financial. This people are crooks.
I have to say, I was perfectly content with Care Credit until today. I was going to pay off my monthly bill and looked at the amount they were telling me to pay each month and the total I still have left to pay off in the first year in order to not accrue interest. Since the numbers didn't look right to me, I decided to do some calculations to see what I actually would need to be paying each month so that by the end I don't end up getting the interest charges. Turns out I need to be paying $400 a month. No where on the bill did it say that I should pay that much at all. All numbers on the bill were in the $100 range, all less than $150. So no indication of what I actually needed to be paying to pay this off in a year. The only thing they advertised was the minimum payment so there was no way if I stuck to those payments, I could truly pay it off in a year. Thank goodness I was smart enough to question the numbers coming my way and could tell it didn't look right. If I just blindly trusted and paid off the amount that was actually written in my statements each month, I would have absolutely accrued major interest by the end. All I have to say is wow. I wonder how many people they scam like this every day and every year. Despicable.
I was promised by a customer service provider that they will honor my promotion for longer because I was doing a balance transfer. They received the check from my credit card company, took the money and still charged me almost $2000 in interest fees. I called trying to resolve the issue but they were supper rude and said that there's nothing they can do even though I was clearly told that they will remove the fees manually! I will never use rhis company again!
This care credit is absolutely bull$#*!. I don't recommend it. The customer service line is no help & flat out rude.
