Available in more than 20 countries, Care.com is the world’s leading platform for finding and managing high-quality family care. Care.com is designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s families and caregivers, offering everything from household tax and payroll services and customized corporate benefits packages covering the care needs of working families, to innovating new ways for caregivers to be paid and obtain professional benefits.
The company generally receives positive feedback for its reliable service providers and the ease of finding suitable candidates for various needs, such as pet care and housekeeping. Customers appreciate the professionalism and attentiveness of the service providers, which enhances their overall satisfaction. However, there are notable concerns regarding service reliability, with several reports of no-shows and difficulties in communication with applicants. Additionally, issues with the website's functionality and billing practices have frustrated users. Overall, while the service shows potential, improvements in communication and reliability are essential for enhancing customer experience.

Maybe they are ok for caregivers which how they started. The offer housecleaners now and none of the ones I contacted responded. One that was double my budget contacted me instead which was weird. I read through all the profiles and most were not accepting jobs or didn't work in my area. So I cancelled my subscription 2 weeks after creating my account (8/12/22). My husband thought the bill for Care.com was for healthcare products so he just paid it for 5 more months! Almost $200 for no service. I remember cancelling because they asked why and I wrote a detailed explanation including how their website showed other "Relevant Profiles" that were all babysitters and nannies when I was looking for a housecleaner. Apparently the cancellation didn't happen so I had to do it again today (1/30/23) when I learned they were still charging us. It takes about 5 windows of them trying to talk you out of cancelling. I would never recommend this site to anyone. A friend said they worked out well for finding a caregiver for a parent with dementia. Wonderful idea, horrible execution — at least regarding housecleaners.
On my phone I can clearly see people's availability, but unable to see that using the site on my laptop?

There is no place to chat or call without leaving a screen. I just paid for a quarterly membership, which I thought included background checks, and now I'm asked to pay $20 more for background checks. I'd like to know what my $38 buys?
Hi Karen, A Premium subscription includes all of the features of a Basic membership, plus the following:
Contact caregivers directly to schedule interviews
Request and have access to results of all background checks
View and reply to applications and other messages received from caregivers
Access to LifeMart Discount Program
Sign up for the Unlimited Background Checks add-on
Discount on HomePay tax services.
The website is easy to navigate but I would have like it explained that I would have the opportunity to message caregivers after payment. I found that confusing and a bit scary
Hi Mary, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I will be sure to share your valued feedback with our product team!
Not a single house cleaner fit the suggested criteria (in terms of average wage) and unless I crafted the search carefully, no results would pop up (for reasonable terms like kitchen cleaning, bathroom cleaning, etc.). Very, very disappointing!
Hi Walter, I'm sorry to hear you have not had luck with the service. I'd be happy to review your account and offer some tips. Please send me a PM on FB or DM on Twitter with your full name, city/state and email address.
Could only get this far. Don`t understand pricing and no phone number

Care.com closed my account because there was an issue with how I entered my address. Absolutely absurd thing to do without any further effort to clarify. I created a new account but I'm fully expecting it to be shut down again and have my premium subscription be a complete waste
Hi Timothy, If your account was closed, it most likely means you do not meet our eligibility guidelines. If you paid for a subscription and were closed immediately after, the system most likely issued you a refund, however it does sometimes take up to a week to process through your bank. If you'd like for us to confirm the refund, please reach out to us through the contact us link at help.care.com, give us a call via the phone number listed on your credit card statement, or through Facebook Messenger. Please include Reference Number REV-011552 in your response.
Your site is confusing as to the actual cost of what I agreed to. What I added to the initial cost of signing up does not add up. I thought I was adding a yearly charge for the added background checks which was discounted. But it added a larger amount that I thought would be charged. It went from being $131 to more that $343.00. This is more than a $200 increase for an additional item. There is also no list of what I have paid for. Please contact me now as I would rather cancel than be treated like this.

Signed up with my email and then could not continue without paying a member fee. This was very sneaky, no disclosure that you need to pay to use the site. TV commercials make it sound like its free. BAD
Hi Laureen, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
Elder Care for my 83 year old Mother with Dementia. She needs assistance with meal preperation, light housekeeping and Rx administration.

The website is annoying. For example, it won't allow me to change my address without registering a new email address and entering birthdate.

This is a great way to offer care of most kind, but the add on services are too expensive.
Hi Tracy, We appreciate your review. We'll be sure to share your feedback with our management team.
A lot more added expenses than I was led to believe as I began signing up

I can't figure out how to message an applicant back -
Hello Heather, We appreciate your review. We'll be sure to share your feedback with our management team.
Didn't expect it would cost anything. I do not want to renew once I find a caregiver.

IT's confusing and I didn't like the way your page probably has everyone signing up for premium, when they didn't want it. So please fix my page to just month to month NO PREMIUM

The bait to pay tactics are not appreciated. You should clearly state upfront the price you are gouging the consumer to have access to a list of people. Also, one would assume that price would have some guarantee that the candidates were background checked when they signed up to be part of your list, but no, you want to charge the consumer again for a background check. There is a lot of greed going around in the world right now...

Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint. https://www.bbb.org/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started
Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!
Answer: I am determined to shut this site down. I am contacting news programs, The Today Show, Good Morning America and any and all others. Shut them down!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com
Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe they have a big money backer and can screw people of their money and lack of customer service? They should be called, I don't care.com
Answer: If I were you I'd choose another site. Care.com is terrible.
Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)
Answer: Sitter city.com could help you. I have honestly had nothing but problems with care.com. They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
