I am so sorry for all your disappointments with them. I too because I am a good worker and I deserve to work with people who truly would appreciate a professional and the work they do.

I have been doing this work for over 20 years I am certified ECE and worked with many children and their families. I am looking for people who live in the Los Angeles Area located close to the West Side preferably. My mother signed up for the service and filled out her entire profile and managed it with great care for weeks. She upgraded and paid for the premium service. I shot and edited a 30 sec commercial which was catered to this website and her clientele. She was doing well and getting great reviews from her customers who love her. Then without any warning or explanation they canceled her account. She contested this and she called customer support and asked for an explanation and they refused to give her any. Anti-American. Anti-capitalist. Anti-fair market. Crooked business. Do not spend your money here.

We had been a good client of care.com for over 2 years. A week ago I received an email stating our contract was terminated without any reason. I would think that care.com would rather advise a client of the reason than just terminate a good paying client

It has been very frustrating - while I found some sitters, many that look great and I would like to meet never respond- not even after I use the care.com option of setting up an appointment with them and not even after I contact them repeatedly. When I told care.com they repeatedly gave me their blanket statement that they know how it can be frustrating and I should post a job and try that route, but basically they will do nothing more than be sympathetic. So this has been a huge waste of time. This website should not keep caregivers never respond (for whatever reason). If feels like a scam

I have NEVER EVER been able to get a damn job from this site! The latest was last night when I answered yet another ad. As instructed, they asked for a call back number. I even included my email address. So, the dude does call me. I call back. Not only does the jerk put his partner (?) on the line but then garbled we have it covered. There was NO job! Yet again, another scam. I love the voice mails if I get any from people that say they are moving to my area and will be sending me money to set up their household. I don't know what is wrong with this company! I thought it was legit. They ONLY thing I did pay for was a back ground check. What I will not do is PAY for a premium upgrade. I seriously wonder about this site. For someone looking to bring in some spending money (and can't get a job otherwise), I thought this site was the way to go. WHAT A JOKE! I'm disgusted with care.com My assessment: STAY AWAY!

Care.com was always my favorite site to visit when I was a teenager looking for a babysitting job. It was free to apply for jobs and it was the best site ever. Now, care.com has gone through a lot of changes. Now they offer premium accounts for people trying to babysit. Not a problem to me, I kept my basic profile and looked for jobs. Now, however, I am an adult looking for a sitter so I made a new profile to post my job offer, but when the interested babysitters message me, I can't read their messages because I am not premium. If I can't read the messages, and I can't message them back, and I can't sign them up for an interview, then what is the point of this site? For me to pay monthly for it while still having to find someone to pay to take care of my child? No. I don't think so. Don't waste your time, trust me. It isn't worth it. I wasted my time posting and waiting for people who were interested because in the end, I didn't get anywhere and now I have no babysitter. I am disappointed in how bad this site has gotten. Also, there are many scammers who say they will "pay in advance" but it's a fraud. (For anyone trying to be a babysitter.)

The company makes it almost impossible to cancel the subscription. No phone numbers or email addresses are provided as a way to get additional subscription information or to cancel. More importantly, the phone number is not included on bank statement transaction description as required by law. I'm going to contact my state's attorney general!

I paid for an account and put my credit card on file in June of 2014 when I was l looking for a Nanny. I found one right away and cancelled my service 30 days later. I clicked on the discontinue button on their site and went about my life. Imagine my surprise when I log into the website for a credit card I carry a balance on for their promotional 0% interest rate, wondering why I would still have almost a $1000 balance at this point, and see that I am still being charged $39.99 a month 24 months later!

When I call to get it straightened out the rude girl tells me she's sorry I "don't understand auto billing" but they don't offer refunds. I told her I fully understand auto billing, but if I've cancelled, you don't have the right to keep charging me! I ask for a supervisor but she says I can't be transferred to one at the time because that's not the "procedure they follow" and tells me they'll call me back that day. That was yesterday... I never got a call.

I never thought in a million years, in this day and age, I'd be fighting with a company over a service cancelled and not used for 2 years. If they checked they could see I haven't logged into their account since 2014. They provide no email notification letting me know I've been billed each month nor do they follow up on dormant accounts. This is predatory billing at its finest and I intend to let everyone I know to steer clear. I'm disgusted.

What a Scam.

So I just looked up a my billing statement and Care.com has been charging us even though, they make your 1-month subscription sound like its one month. No sir, its one month every month. They just automatically bill you. I tried cancelling it and wanted to talk to a customer service rep... Lmao they have no have no customer service and no contacts listed. Finally, I go to the FAQ and the first question is how do I cancel my credit card info... LMAO again, they don't even answer the question. They blab on about how long they keep your credit card info. What a joke of a business. YOU ARE CRAZY IF YOU USE THIS SCAM OF A WEBSITE!

I have been a member of care.com since 2009 and k have been looking for employment since April of last year, I took the necessary steps to become a "pro" member with paying $20 a month which in reality I can't be throwing that away while looking for a job. I have over 8 years experience as a nanny including multiple newborn experience, I was with a family for 6 years and I have been looking for a long term family since April of 2016 and not once have I gotten a reply from a family on care.com. I am pretty sure I'm qualified to be a nanny with my job history. I am just ball parking to about 200 messages sent out from this date and back to April, with not one response. If anyone from the corporate office is able to see these reviews, you might want to think about how your website works. Seems like it only benefits the families who are looking, not the desperate nannies counting on the one message to get them a job. I'd like my money back too. That's unlikely.

Scary scam
August 13, 2016

After signing up with care.com I got several text messages from people with very broken English. They all claimed that they were moving to the US and needed a nanny. They promised me riches LOL. Only if I set up a bank account and gave them the account number and deposited a check for them in this account. On weekdays I work at a homeless shelter for teenage girls so I was looking for something on the weekend to make a little extra money. Everyone be aware of this site because I check my profile on care.com and I didn't even put my cell phone number on my profile so I have no idea how they got my number.

This company is a joke. I signed up to search for an after-scool sitter for my son. I payed the one month premium membership and corresponded with a couple of sitters. Two days after signing up, I received an email stating my membership had been cancelled. After replying to the email and asking for a reason, I was told that they would not reveal the reason. I broke no terms of service and I have no criminal record.

STAY AWAY!

There is no way we would ever do business with Care.com ever again - they willingly put elderly and children in harms way! They approved a convicted felon who abused our elderly parents & families trust. This person's background check came back clean from Care.coms site - however later we find she has a wrap sheet a mile long! She neglected our poor elderly parents, put them in harms way, stole property from us, lied and tried to extort money from the very people we hired her to care for. When we confronted her she went into a full on tirade - screaming & using offensive language in front of my elderly parents & children, charged at my wife, threw her drink and damaged things in our home when asked to leave. The police had to be called because she would not leave peacefully. When we contacted Care.com to make them aware of our traumatic experience - they closed our account. We feel they are trying to sweep our experience under the rug as to keep the information under radar! That is unacceptable and we will make sure no other poor family goes thru the anguish we have by trusting Care. Com. We want to bring light to how dangerous it is to trust Care. Com for safe care of loved ones whom can fall victim like we have. This is a very serious matter they are trying to brush off. We will not make light of this and will make sure our experience is heard by all! Its too important to keep the elderly & children safe from places & people that abuse them!

A trial period is not unreasonable, I'd be glad to upgrade after actually using the site for a month, nothing is free, however, they are just scamming you to get money upfront wether their site works or not, great idea, too bad they are so greedy

Can't apply to jobs on free account after you have applied 8 times. What is the point of spending hours building a profile when there is a limit on the amount of jobs you can apply to? I wouldn't be applying to jobs if I had money to pour into this site for an "upgrade". They should mention this when you sign up. Out of 8 applications, I got one call. I did receive several fake emails and texts though from hackers. I don't mind a limit for the free account, but it shouldn't completely stop at 8 total applications. Especially when the customer closes the ad. Totally disappointed in this site.

I signed up to be housekeeper, assistant, pet care, child care, senior care, basically whatever is available. Out of approximately 50 jobs applied to I got one response and it was to decline my services, I paid quite a bit of money for a site to not help me at all. I am better off being an Uber driver than using this bull$#*!. I have sent email inquiries to them on two different occassions and the response usually starts with we are sorry we are unable to help you. I also tried looking myself up as a customer and could not. Total RIP OFF!
