Cardpool customer service is truly awful. Situation 1: I moved and needed to change my shipping address (they have to do it for you) so checks will go to the right place. I have contacted them four times in the past few months about this, and no one has ever gotten back to me. Situation 2: I just ordered an electronic gift card. AFTER the sale was completed they advise me fulfillment could take 3 business days. I can't wait that long because what I want to buy is on sale. $#%&! Situation 3: I have tried calling to speak to someone about changing my address. All you can do is leave a message. In my case, there was no callback. Situation 4: They seem to have chat, but it's a Chatbot that's completely useless. Just avoid this disaster of a company. They claim to have thousands of great reviews on their site, but I get here and see most people have unfortunately had bad experiences with them. Giftcard Zen is awesome. There are other good ones as well. Just not this one.
The first few times experience were great, until you hit a big item and need their customer service, then you can forget all the great experience you had from them, the customer service could reap all greatness to rumble in one instant
Bought a electronic coupon, wait forever to come. Ask to cancel after I could not wait any longer and they sent the coupon then. Ask to cancel order again, they give you all company policy BS and refuse, even I explained I have waited forever.
Slow, bad customer service and self justified company instead of customer justified service. Compare to Amazon, if Amazon is 10, Cardpool is 0.
Purchased a giftcard on tuesday that was supposed to be delivered by email. Was suppose to arrive in 1 business day according to website. It's now been 3 business days since purchasing and am having a hell of a time contacting customer service. There's no phone number listed on their website so I emailed customer service and can't get a response. Finally received a phone call from them, but got hung up on after they confirmed my credit card details. Still don't know if I've been scammed, or what the hell is going on.
Tldr; Run away from this website
Looks like I just lost $186. Mailed in my gift card as instructed with the shipping label they provide, but no amazon gift card mailed back. Emailed customer service and they say they haven't received anything. One week to mail a letter from Oakland to San Francisco? More likely card is lost or receipt never acknowledged by them. Nobody can prove it wasn't "lost in transit" which of course they aren't liable for. Like Jay said in his review, the shipping label has no tracking number so there's no way to see what actually happened. And according to a review on 1/12 the actual owners left the company so nobody there gives a crap about upholding any kind of standards. What's with the excellent review by the Better Business Bureau? What a joke.
Do not use this comapny! They stole money off my credit card and never delivered my gift cards. "customer service" keeps hanging up on me telling me they communicate through email only, except they NEVER respond to e-mails. I've been dealing with this headache for over a week now so save yourself the trouble I couldn't.
I sent in my gift card and received an Amazon gift card code via email with in 24 hours as promised. Today I tried to use the gift code at the Amazon site and they did not recognize it. I typed it in using caps, no caps, dash, no dash--nothing worked. So lesson learned. * Update: I really need to apologize to Cardpool. I did not read the code correctly, mistaking an 8 for a B. When Cardpool replied to my email and explained my error I felt like an idiot. But most importantly, the new code worked just fine and I was able to make a purchase at Amazon.
January 1st sold gift card. They promise amazon.com gift card number will be emailed as payment "within one business day." Today is January 5th. January 3 & 4 were business days (granted the 2d was a legal holiday). Nothing emailed. Says "ordered" when I log in. Great, so I am out my original gift card and got nothing in return. Terrible company.
UPDATE: It is now 1/12/17. Still no amazon.com gift card. Instead of "ordered" it now says "pending review." I reiterate DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My sense is that one day I'll get my card, but "one business day" has morphed into almost two weeks, and they ignore emails other than once when they asked me to verify the numbers on my Williams Sonoma card, which i did a week ago.
I have $300 worth of gift cards I was going to sell to Carpool until I did some research about their reviews and changed my mind. The 1st red flag was no phone number for contacting them, I NEVER do business with anyone unless there is an address and phone number. Second red flag, no charge for postage, that's key to luring their customers in, thinking their getting more for their money. It's a gimmick, a ruse, smoke and mirrors, wake up people, use ur noggon! So to all u people on here complaining, shame on you for being scammed, but it's ur own fault. Does anyone know of a card company that isn't a scam?
I purchased a Dunkin' Donuts card and tried putting it on my app and using it in the store multiple times and it never worked. I ultimately found out through Dunkin that it had been originally purchased with a stolen credit card and was therefore deactivated. I must have left over a dozen messages on 2 separate numbers and emailed 6 times. Unfortunately now it's beyond the 60 days to dispute through my credit card and I've just come to the conclusion that I am out the $80 bucks.
Hadn't used Cardpool in over a year, so had to change my password as it was out of date. Then attempted to log in, but then keep getting an error message to try again later. Second time this has happened. Tried the "bot" customer service chat but it just asks me the same "what is your question" sort of thing no matter what I type. Has anyone gotten a reply from an email address or phone number? If so, what is it? Thx.
Yesterday I sold some old gift cards to Cardpool. After reading the negative reviews on this site, as well as the fact that their process requires you to just blindly trust them, I was incredibly leery.
They came through though. I uploaded the codes in the afternoon, received a phone call a couple hours later where I verified some info, and got my amazon gift card for the full amount emailed to me before I went to bed.
It couldn't have been an easier transaction.
I cant speak for what happened to other people, but for me it was excellent.
So they slow with getting egc #s out. It took about 12 hrs for mine to arrive which is acceptable although not prefered this day in age by people who want it NOW! I thank you, CP for saving me money. 12 hrs is nothing esp compared to how much I saved over Raise and Zen.
I had an digital gift card (Just a card number and PIN) from HP for $100. I didn't want an amazon gift card, nor did I want to wait for a better offer on the market, so I sold the card directly CardPool online. Their offer was $75, which may seem like a sizable chunk, but they have to make a profit, so I understand.
I sold it August 6,2018. After selling it I received a confirmation e-mail less than 5 minutes later. Less than 24 hours later I received an e-mail saying they processed my order and they sent out the check, and that I should receive it in 3-7 days, with a *note that delays could make it take 2-3 weeks and to contact them if I don't receive it after 3 weeks. It said to make sure that the gift card is never used from now on or else they'll charge me.
I received my check in the mail August 11,2018. No problems with the check, it was for the $75 I agreed to and it cashed fine.
I sold a physical $100 card to card pool. It was in review for 2 1/2 months. Thought I was ripped off. Never could get ahold of anyone, only automated responses.
Finally they email me saying sorry, they were bought out from someone else and we're in the process of moving to another location. Now they've moved and cleared my card and sent me my check. I received it yesterday and have deposited it in my bank. I'm still worried if the check bounces, praying it don't. I'll update once it clears.
1 thing that prob helped me was I contacted the BBB as well who were contacting cardpool to resolve the issue. Well I did receive my check. So we will see.
So, I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. Cardpool got back with me quickly, fixed my issue, refunded me for the gift card and informed me that they were working on new developments to provide better (or any at all) customer service. Apparently they have been wicked understaffed and couldn't take care of what demand they had. Who knows. Either way, I can say my issue was fixed. I will from here on out how it goes. Before this issue, I had never any problems with them. Hopefully, they can get it together and make strides in the right direction.
OK, so I have to say that I am very sad to write this review. I have had cardpool for many years and have spent thousands of dollars with them. However, about a month ago when I tried to log into my account, it told me that I already have three devices and I need to log out of one of them in order to login. So, I wrote an email to cardpool customer service and explained the situation that I no longer have those other devices because they are previous cell phones and so I'm unable to log out of the accounts on those devices. I have written them now five times and left several voicemails because I need assistance in getting this taken care of. I have even bought more gift cards and not been able to use them which means that I am being denied access to things I paid money for. I keep getting the same auto generated email saying that they will get to my email eventually please wait for a response and no one has given me a response.
At this point I no longer wish to be a customer of Cardpool. I have recommended it to many friends and I used it quite often for quite a long time. I had nothing bad to say about them. However, the fact that their customer service is absolutely awful is completely unacceptable.
I would like access to my gift cards so that I may use them and then no longer purchase any more from them. But, since no one will write me back or help me with this issue I cannot access my gift cards. Needless to say I am very unhappy with cardpool. I would honestly say people should steer clear of this company and not use their services for the pure fact that if you have any issues you will not receive assistance.
Givt cards were sent almost one month ago, and Cardpool claimed never received them due to post mail problem. Finally, I cancelled the transaction and got the card #s and pins back. Immediately, I checked the balance on the cards, and they are all $0. This is very dissappointing. This was the fourth and last transaction for me. If you really want to use Cardpool, be sure to pay a little extra for mail tracking, and don't just use their printed free shipping label.
Now, how do I report fraud or how to find out who used my Homedepot cards?
I was hesitant after reading so many negative reviews. I noticed that ALL of the gift card buying sites had massive negative reviews from certain review sites. One review site other than this one rated Cardpool very high. I figured that a lot of the negative reviews must be from idiots. I decided to go for it.
I received a $100 Target gift card fro Christmas. I verified the amount on the Target site. Went to Cardpool and entered the numbers and pin code. Choose the Amazon gift card via email code. Submitted on Friday, New Years Day. Got the email code Saturday night. Just now redeemed it on my Amazon account. Worked perfectly!
Three times I have tried to buy an American Airlines gift card. Twice it took a few days to recieve an email response that my order was cancelled because information about me could not be verified. I have emailed Cardpool and they said they are not at liberty to disclose why. But in between these transactions I have bought physical clothing store cards with no problem that arrived in a week. So if the AA gift cards aren't for sale why do they waste my time? I referred a friend who got their card in a week. Got a $5 discount for the referral and now I can't buy anything. My billing info is 100% correct.
Don't fall for this scam! Promised a check for 18.75 for fandango
Gift card I am still waiting for the check. Impossible to get thru to customer service.
Avoid like the plague. Not sure why they have not been sued for fraud!
Wanted to buy some electronic gift cards. Thought they would email it next day (like it says on their webpage), but they had to verify "something", even though my card went through fine for the $200. They called me once, 18 hours later, on my lunch, I missed the call, by two seconds so I called them back right away. Voicemail. Called 10 other times before I gave up. Waste of time. Had to go through the hassle of a refund because they are soo slow. When I buy e gift cards on eBay, I never have this problem.
Answer: They cheated me out of 75 dollars in gift cards they need to pay up
Answer: DON'T DO IT! You're just rolling the dice with this company, if there is a problem, you ave no recourse.
Answer: Hi Justin I would not use there service they scammed me out of a 400 Home Depot gift card then the block your account ignore emails and leave you with nothing I hope you look to another service it will save you headaches
The company's reputation is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with gift cards that arrive with zero balances and a lack of effective customer support. Many customers report difficulties in reaching the company, citing unresponsive email communication and nonexistent phone support. While a few positive experiences exist, they are overshadowed by consistent complaints regarding service delays, unfulfilled orders, and perceived fraudulent practices. Overall, the sentiment indicates a widespread lack of trust and reliability, suggesting that potential customers should exercise caution when considering this service.
