Terrible expereience
August 10, 2021

I have been a credit card holder with capital one since 1994. I have never had to file a dispute. My credit is in the mid 800's. I have recently had a need to file a complaint against a business that charged my card $2559. 27 without our consent and also a false charge. My experience with capital one was beyond disturbing. I have since March been trying to dispute this. I have spoke with about 10 supervisors. Each call took at least an hour. Each supervisor said I had a case and it would be taken care of. Capital one continuously credited and charged my card the wrong amount that I disputed. Sometimes 3-4x/ day. I had excellent records. I was so disturbed by my experience I sent a letter to the bank ceo and head of dispute. I heard nothing back from them. Recently was denied the claim and told I need to pay the amount. Beware they do not stand behind their customers. Needless to say I will be looking for a new bank. If I could give them no stars I would. Very disappointed.

Bad Banking
August 5, 2021

Capital One is a bad bank. They advertise fraud protection but don't deliver. I filed a dispute with them over a 3rd party charge and so they started a 90 day investigation with the vendor in question. Weeks later -- no refund and there is still a hold on my card account which is MY money that I put in the secured account to begin with. 90 days to do an investigation - really? Look elsewhere for a credit card.

I request a balance transfer on July 10. July 16th, I received statement from Capital One. I thought it was done deal. I was wrong. The balance transfer never was executed. The reason I chose Capital One bank because it was supposed to be easy for me, it was not supposed to make my life more difficult. Today is July 30th, my credit score went down because my debts increased from $3500 to $7000. I have to pay $70 transfer fee for NO BALANCE TRANSFER. BBVA bank charged me a fee for not paying what I owed by the due date. I wasted my time everyday by calling Capital one bank customer service representative. In Addition, I talked to one of supervisors, her name is Anpenajia. The supervisor was very rude, she told me I'm not patient and tried to cancel my transaction because she was just tired and annoyed from dealing with me. I know something is not right with this transaction. I never experienced such bad customer service. Capital One has cause me a lot of problems and stress. Representatives were not helpful and they did not care at all about my problem. Never ever will have any deal with Capital One bank!

I booked a trip then cancelled due to medical issues. They company that booked my trip is from India called
Parsagia.com the company said I would lose 25% because I did so on the 16th and not the 15th which I told them they are in INDIA and it's impossible to get in touch with someone to cancel. So I called my bank. They refunded all my money for a month then said it was a valild purchase and gave them back all the money. They both point the finger at each other for getting what was rightfully mine. Which is over a 1000 bucks after the 25% so I took all my money out of Capital one and put it into Chime. And I am taking the INDIAN Company to small claims court where a judgment in my behalf will cost them a pretty penny as no one can invest in a company that owes

You cannot monitor your Venture One credit card from abroad, unless you're using a US cell phone. It just doesn't work for people traveling for extended periods of time who use local SIM cards - no way to monitor, make payments, check balances except to call internationally and get tortured by terrible CapitalOne Customer sevice! I'm throwing out my VentureOne card!

Capital One Hacker
July 14, 2021

I have had a credit card with Capital One for over two years. I have been making payments with the same bank account. A payment made early and found out they changed a account that has been closed for over a year. The strange thing is I never gave that account number to make a payment. I was paying early and they asked well we can that payment now. No and then the well train customer service could never tell me where the number came from. Well made another payment early. And they placed a hold on the account. They had the money and now they just wanted to make your account look bad. Remember they are helping you just finding a way to hurt you.

Rip off
July 7, 2021

Customer Service is non existent. You will chat with a robot. When you talk to the rep or supervisor its the same as the chat. Useless. Your complaint will not be resolved. They are trained to say the same things over and over and will just give you headache with their one sided policy. Do not rely on due dates. If you pay minimum even on time they will charge you not only once but twice or 3x depending on their bogus agenda. Basically the due dates are useless, the customer service is useless. Expect to pay and pay for hidden charges which none of the representatives can explain what's the charge is for. Stay away from Capital One. Read the bad reviews. Search for the bad reviews. We are accurate with these reviews. Do not use Capital One. Just use cash or debit card. Stay away from credit cards. Save your money. Every dollar counts.

Purchase a airline ticket from a horrible site called travelation which i used capital one to pay for it only to find out that the ticket was wrong purchase i called capital one to cancel this purchase from the merchant, also i called the travelation site to be pushed around by some call center from overseas and asked for confirmation number which they could not gave me after 2 hrs of purchasing. Capital one was very terrible in trying to solve my problem which i explain your card card was made for the purchase it should be protected as you claim. After several attempts which i submit documents and explaination they still could not solve the issue, they send me links for upload my documents which many times failed to open from capital one. I would not use this company for any more purchase in the future i will pay them off and close this account forever. And use another company to do my purchases. Lose $400, and you never make anymore money in interest from myself also auto loan is terrible customers service is horrible if you get tru from robotics call. Mr badley

Worst credit card experience ever! Customer service is not helpful. I sent a payment of $9,436.01 20 days BEFORE DUE date and they put my card on hold for 1 week, I called their customer service and I was advise to send a bill pay to accelerate payment process, so I did! (I wanted to use my card for a big purchase and take advantage of the sky miles) I sent and additional $10,000 and even though the money cleared my bank they didn't release my account! They actually told me that the additional $10,000 will be on hold for another week. Why I'm getting punished for paying my card? Because they don't like customers like me who pay on time and in full, they want you in debt and broke.
Customer service was rude and conceited. I have the right to be upset when you are sitting on almost $20,000 taken from my bank account and freezing my credit card.
I regret opening and account with Capital One so much!

Stop spamming me!
June 29, 2021

For the past several months Capital One has spammed my email multiple times every day. Every time I delete one of their offers another one pops up in email. I called them a month ago and asked them to stop, and they said they would, but I still get multiple emails every day and now they are sending conventional mail offers too! Do they really think harassment and lies are the way to get customers?!

I never write reviews, but decided to point this out. I was just looking at another companies reviews and they were HORRIBLE. I decided to come over to look at Capital One's reviews as I have done business with them for years and more recently this week with a large undertaking. I have been VERY happy with the company and they have helped me when my own credit union of 31 years have not. Now, I'm seeing these bad things written here also. C'mon Now! Who do you believe? I just say to you all, make a wise decision. Use Capital One - Don't' use them. I like Capital One. A. Noel

After months of paying on my balance. I finally got to the point I could pay them off. I made 3 payments in March. One to lower my balance, my monthly payment and the 3rd to payoff my balance. I login and selected the statement balance option and paid it off in full. Capital One decided to charge me interested after I already paid my monthly interest.
I have called twice, but they won't cancel the extra interest. I've sent an email to *******@capitalone.com, but no answer yet.
I also paid off PNC & Bank America too and they did not do me this way. I strongly suggest you get some other credit card.
These guy (Capital One) will nickel and dime you.

I would give zero stars if it allowed
I would give zero stars if it allowed, capital one froze my business account and personal account stating fraudulent activity. They never informed me of the hold they put on my accounts and I only found out when trying to pay for groceries and my card was declined. It was a bank error that they admitted to BUT they still didn't release the hold on ALL my accounts. Eventually I was able to withdraw all my money from the personal account and I did open another checking ac with another bank. The hold continued on my business account for a further 3 weeks. They then said the account would be open and apologised for the inconvenience. The next day they closed the business ac and mailed me a check made payable to the business which they closed so the check could not be cashed. Weeks of phone calls and extremely rude customer support but to no avail on a solution. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. A complete utter disgusting experience. No compensation for the bills that had tried to be withdrawn and the bounced check charge to me. DISGRACEFUL SERVICE OF 15 YEARS DEBT FREE with MILLIONS OF DOLLARS PASSING THROUGH THEIR BANKING... WOULD I RECOMMEND? HELL NO. Their customer service department need to all be fired as they are so incompetent. If I ran a business like they do I would have no business.

Worst credit card ever!
February 8, 2021

I have 4 different credit cards for re-building credit, with that being said this is by far the worst one out of all of them, every last one of them has given me a credit line increase without asking except for this one, so when i asked they said because i was only making the minimum payments. Seriously what kind of bank would honestly say such a thing they are making money that way, however they should really be glad they are getting paid at all at this point, i have never missed a payment and always on time!

Capital One decided to cancel my credit card immediately and without warning. When I called customer service to ask what happened, they said that they had to cancel my credit card simply because I was, "paying it in full on time every month, and this is not helpful". So basically, being financially responsible and being dependable with timely payments isn't allowing them to charge exorbitant interest rates of 24.99%, and in my case, it is hurting their bottom line. When I asked what I could do to fix the situation, their advise was for me to take my business elsewhere. As soon as my final payment clears, I will be going to a different bank for a credit card.

I can't express my frustration with this company, this is the worst banking I ever had to deal with, and trust me I had multiple banking experiences before. I had to file a dispute for the same transactions multiple times with no resolution. I provided clear evidence that the transaction was to be refunded and they still closed the case without solving the problem. It took me 10 months until a part of the money got refunded, still fitting for my money.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you want a bank that cares for you as a customer and helps you with your money, trust me this is not the company. They will not make an extra step to solve the problem, and when it's about money, there is always a problem.
