Send me an exclusive offer. I was denied even though I have an 805 score on equifax and an 815 on transunion. I also have 80k a year income with only 1000/month mortgage for a DTI of only 15%.

I was hospitalized for several months in 2020 and into 2021. I had 14 surgeries and 2 skin grafts, and was in a coma induced state for much of this time. Upon starting my recovery journey, I had plans of purchasing a home and using my Venture card (with $15k limit) to purchase large items. I started using my card again to purchase some of these items, and realized my line had been decreased to $5k. I immediately called customer service. An ederly man who sounded brand new assisted me and advised that because I didn't use the line, it had been decreased. I explained my situation but he said nothing could be done. He said it was my fault because they mailed me letters warning me. I advised I never received them. Two days later I called back to unlock an old accounts and it turns out they had the wrong address on file, supporting my claim I never received notification. I asked to speak to management about this issue and to request a credit line increase back on my card. She was very callous to my situation. I offered to provide documentation providing proof of my hospitalization and my upcoming home purchase. She advised it was a business decision and no reversal could be made. Not only does this decision negatively impact my credit score, but it also impacts my ability to make my purchases for my new home. I've been a loyal customer for 7 years, and have always paid on time. I have three different accounts with Capitol One. The total disregard for customer health during a global pandemic is unreal and disappointing to say the least. I will be taking my business, and hard earned money, elsewhere.

I have been with CapitalOne for over a decade, and can tell with confidence that they support fraudulent transactions of merchants over customers concerns. Recently, I was charged several times by Logo genies for a service that was not completed prior to filing the dispute. Logo genies was a "click and bait" company who changed their terms and conditions after receiving payment, and never sent me a sales invoice or cancellation policy prior and after payment. I contacted Capital One to dispute the charges and sent them all the evidence of Logo genies scam (email trail with time stamps, snapshot of logogenies service information displayed on their website), CapitalOne took over 60 days to look into it and then said that the case was closed because I could not provide sales invoice and cancellation policy which the merchant did not provide me throughout service period until date. So, I did not get the refund I deserved for an unfulfilled service. I have had similar encounters with CapitalOne more than five times already with different merchants, and CapitalOne has always favored the merchants in spite of all evidence that service/product has not been delivered, and today I say no more! They always support scam activities of merchants and do not act in my best interest as a customer to protect my credit. So, I will be closing my CapitalOne credit account for good soon.
Note: I tried uploading images of multiple charges to my capitalone account but pixels of images exceed 300 by300, so I could not upload my only proof of payments.

Stole my $800 cashback!
November 28, 2022

I had been a customer with Capital One for over 7 years. I had a cash back rewards card. I updated my address with them when I moved, then they locked my account so I called in and they said I needed to update my address so I did that over the phone with them. Then 2 months later my account was locked again so I called in and they said I needed to update my address. I refused to update it again since I had just done so twice in the last few months and told them it was unreasonable to need to update my address 3 times in less than 6 months. So they left my account frozen. I had not missed a full payment in over 4+ years and paid off my balance again even though my account was frozen. I hoped that bank would be interested in keeping me as a customer and would call to resolve the issue but no luck. Fast forward 6ish months I thought I'd call to get them to issue my cash back payment. When I called they said they had closed my account 2 months ago and that I had "forfeited" my cashback payment of $782. After much arguing they said it was bank policy to steal my accumulated cashback when they closed the account. So not only did they not want me as a customer they also stole nearly $800 from me. I will never deal with capital one again.

Capital One has closed all of their branches in my area. The branch that is open is neutered and all the staff does is point to the ATM machine.

When you call customer service please know that it is NEVER the banks fault, it is always YOUR fault or the fault of the merchant or the other bank. If you challenge this they will claim "safe space" and hang up on you.

Banks are no fun... Capital One pretends to be cool and care but do not be fooled. The bank is awful. From customer service giving different answer every time you call in to the bank rep just blaming you over and over again like a form a torture.

The miles program and booking travel through Capital One is a joke as well... Tried getting first class tickets - when I was seated in coach (at a first class fare) I reached out to Capital One and was notified that when buying with miles they can do a blend of first class and coach. Of course coach was the 3hr leg and first class was the 30 minute flight.

With no branches and no accountability the bank just screws you over and over and over and over and over and over again.

The rewards cash back is a rip off. And even paying off your balance ENITRELY for the 3rd time (In 6 years), you'll still get charged interest the next billing cycle. Interest rates are a joke and don't help your credit score. 10/10 DO NOT RECCOMMEND!

They sent me a letter telling me I needed to use my card or the account will be close. So knowing that this would affect my credit I reach out to make a purchase with it and notice my card is expired. I call Capital One, order a new card and by the time I get the new card they have already close my account. Called them and they told me they gave me enough time to use it, hahaha, how ridiculous! I couldn't use it because my card was expired and it took Cap One 3 weeks to send me the new card. Anyways, Capital One is the highest interests cc Bank, with the highest fees and the worst customer service. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH CAPITAL ONE, THEY WILL EAT YOU ALIVE BEFORE THEY RUIN YOUR CREDIT! WORST COMPANY EVER!

I hate capital one
July 30, 2023

When u apply for capital one, first they approved you. Then when u start creating online account before you recieve the actual card that they promised u. Then something weird happened. They just restricted your account out of nowhere. Eventhough u give them all the $#*! they asked, they will just locked the accounts automatically. Seriously capital one is really suck! They will just gets your hopes up for nothing. Why can you give the people's a chance to get to own a credit cards/ for the begginers/ for peoples that's building their credits/ or for those peoples that doesn't have a credit history yet! Or for those bad credits? Come on why do you guys keep doing that $#*! you're doing? Did you know by giving those applicants a hard time, it will look really bad on the reviews. Because think about it. You're only approving $300 and so much things to do before u even send the actual cards. Then one accidental mistakes for forgotten password or forgotten username or etc. then capital one is trying to be so strict for it.! Wow bravo please try to give everyone's a break!

Utter BS
February 20, 2024

So, I have $35Ok in a savings account with Capital One, two checking accounts and three credit cards. I have zero balance on my cards and pay in full every month whenever I do use the cards. I signed up for "no fee overdraft", although I have never had an overdraft EVER. When it was offered me, I figured "why not"? Well, as luck would have it I made a payment to another card that showed as debited from my Capital One account, but it weirdly was put back into the account the next day (which I didn't notice at first). After paying all my bills, I left $800 in my checking and moved the balance to my savings. The payment I had made hit again, and Capital One did not honor it. I called, admitting my oversight and asking what happened to my no fee overdraft. Well, that's at their discretion I learned, and (get this) because I had NEVER had an overdraft, Capital One did not honor the $700 overpayment, even though had signed up for overdraft and have $350k in a savings account with them. Wtf? I said so really I don't have any overdraft protection, and was told I do... It's just at their discretion. So I closed every account and went to a credit union.

THEY ARE THE WORST
July 8, 2022

My apps got locked out just because I forgot my password. They had no resolution for me to reset my password for three weeks. I been trying on the phone with them for 3 weeks and none of them are even friendly enough to help the whole things or even stay on the line with me. All they did was putting me on hold one after other. Over and over and OVER. I even gave them my entire information including my Identity and still doesn't even help. The worse part is I have my own personal cellphone and of course, I texts daily and use it whenever I want and they said my cell phone number is invalid and can't get a Code from them. IT JUST ABSURD wasting my time like that! I am giving you one star because you can't do anything right. I MEAN. 3 WEEKS, COME THE $#*! ON! YOU ARE LETTING YOUR BRAIN ROTTEN AND NOT THINKING WHAT IT CAN DO TO HELP ONE OTHER MUCH EASIER THAN 3 Friggin WEEKs- EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE, THREE WEEKS IS ENOUGH TO PISS ME OFF. YALL BE SAFE!

CapitalOne- my $#*!!

Capital One is THE WORST BANK I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. For the past 3 months I've been trying to get a fraudulent charge reversed from mom's credit card but they have been completely unhelpful. My mom is 80 years old, disabled, and live in New York. We NEVER did ANY business with Capital One but was forced into this situation when they took over the bank that we dealt with. In the process of sending new credit cards, they screwed up and sent a card with someone else name on it. We called and told them they need to fix the problem. In the meantime, someone got her card and used it. Her credit card was used in California to purchase gift cards. We notified Capital One as soon as we found out and was told that the charges would be removed. The next month the charge was back on the bill and they claimed that because the purchase "was made in person" she was responsible for the charge. We have called several times and spoken to their fraud dispute department but they refused to budge. Last time they told us to submit evidence but when I asked what kid of evidence they need they would not give me an answer.

They solicited me for a $50K line of credit card, with 7% cash back if I spent $50K in 6 months. I joined, went to use card for a large purchase, denied it, said I had to build up a spending history. So how do you spend 50K in 6 months? Impossible. Closed account. Account was setup as estatement and autopay/full balance. Never received one statement, assumed paid in full. Notified by creditwatch they filed a past due report on me after 4 months. No statements, no call, nothing. They acknowledge external account for Autopay says too bad I didn't get statements. Offered to send them email and spam logs to prove no statements sent, didn't care. Would not do anything to rectify report. THIS KNOCKED MY CREDIT SCORE DOWN 170 POINTS. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CREDIT SCORE STAY AWAY, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Very poor service
March 28, 2023

I have had a card with Capital One for years. For a time, I have a separate bank account for regular payments. I changed that a couple years ago and have made regular requests to have my payments go through my main bank account. Usually they would not, so I had to keep some money in my original account. I recently scheduled a payment to pay off my balance and scheduled it for the same day. It didn't come out of my account so I called Capital One to see what it showed. It said I had a $4500 credit. I knew this shouldn't be true so I waited for a week to see if it would change after the payment was finalized. Today I called and I have the original balance of $4500 but my account is closed. I remade a payment with my actual account again and spoke to customer service to see about keeping my account open. They said that since I made multiple payments on an invalid account, it was flagged as fraud. I am not all that concerned about finding a new credit card and have already been approved but I was pretty proud to have a credit score of 790 and now it dropped to 740 and I doubt the fraud crap even got reported yet. Do business with this company at your own risk. Even after 4+ attempts to change my autopay to a new account, it never went through and now I am flagged as having fraudulent activity. I would highly recommend that you find a legitimate company to do business with.

Sometimes it is hard to believe I am calling a real credit card company when I have dealt with multiple employees that are so unprofessional that when there is a language barrier that is severe enough that it requires asking them to repeat themselves that they in return pretend they are not on the line and even hang up. Multiple times I have called with simple inquiries and am on hold for 20minutes or more while they " check" their system. The last person I spoke to was "JB" that was the only information he would give. No customer service representative number or anything and when he couldn't answer my questions he decided to hang up on me. He did this after twenty minutes of pretending he could not hear me as I asked him to repeat himself. Also in the past I was escalated to the top level of management and left her multiple voicemails to NEVER have my calls returned. She did however send me a letter apologizing for the customer service issues and encouraged me to call if I needed help- only to never answer or return my calls when I called her. If there is any other option for your credit - CHOSE another company!
