Capital One's dispute department is a joke. I had recorded phone calls as proof of my attempts to resolve the issue with the merchant (Vroom) and Capital One told me they could not use them. The last straw for me was when I spoke with a fraud and dispute manager named Shane who told me (after I mentioned that I record all of my phone calls) that if I did not say aloud that I was no longer recording the call, they would disconnect. This was even after I reminded them that Capital One's greeting states that all calls are being recorded and monitored. I will never do business with Capital One again.

If there was a chance to leave a zero as a star, I would do so. I recently had the worst experience ever with this card when there was a fraudulent charge from an airline on my card. They themselves were unable to obtain clarity or resolution on the issue but then demanded that I provide a document that they could not get themselves. All I got from HOURS on the phone was the same dead pan, dead end, answer that I needed to provide a document. When I asked them a zillion time, how do you want me to get it when you can't get it yourselves, I was just met with the same frustrating line "Sir, you must provide this document." It was MADDENING, frustrating, disgusting customer service and sooooo disappointing. My other credit cards have always jumped to help me when there has been an issue. I truly regret using this card for my purchase and will cancel the card, even though that will end up hurting my credit score, which is in the 800s. I just can't imagine ever giving business to this company again. When I asked that they please at the very least hold off on putting-this charge back on my account while I investigate on my own, they refused. Horrible, horrible service and I hope that if you have read this far that this will be enough to deter you from ever signing up with Capital One.

Do not be deceived by this fake credit card company. They pretend to treat you as a "Valued Customer". Nothing could be further from the truth.
When the chips fall down, when there is fraud on your account or you are scammed they immediately take the other side. They do not support their customers nor do they care
If you report how you were treated and if they loose your business.
Do yourself a favor and do not sign this credit card company.

My card with them expired in January and they said a new card was sent in October. Called 4 times and was told everytime new card was being sent which it finally is after 4 times. However, they damaged my credit by doing a credit inquiry as a new account when I've been a cardholder for 8 years. Incompetence and poor service are trademark for this company. They also tried informing me there is no way to file a complaint which is also another example of their poor service.

I've been disputing a charge for an item I received damaged from the merchant. The merchant refused to communicate to refund the purchase and Capital One refuses to investigate the dispute. Capital One has by far the worst service agents. Read their Google reviews. They are a terrible bank to work with and honor none of the protection services they contract to their card. I will never use my Capital One card again after being a customer for over a decade.

This has been the worst experience of my life, refinanced my auto loan thru them and it has been a cat and mouse game since. None of the offices communicate and we have sent everything in that they asked for but they rejected the paperwork. Worst finance company ever!

Banked with them for a decade. Sole proprietor (now I have a LLC). Wouldn't let me open business acct. I receive PPP loan, 8 months later they freeze my acct. I show them SBA forgiveness letter and they still try to pry in business that I'm not obligated to share. Searching for a crime that hasn't been committed. Then remitted a thousand of my money back to the lender as if to trigger further investigation. Crappy company. And not very well equipped to understand how things really work.

Anyone who uses Capital One is out of their mind. They charge userous late fees ($40 on $146. Balance). Then the absolute gall, when I closed my account, made full payment minus late fee (I never received the mailed bill) I wanted to confirm that they were debiting my checking account and the amount. I told them the call was being recorded and GET THIS... she stated that "Capital One does not allow calls to be recorded by customers!" They record you but you cannot record them. That is all you need to know!

Terrible

My card was used by my daughter which bounced and three hours after I paid it off so she can use it. They canceled the card with no notice because of that. Wtf this company is terrible no notice no phone call email text nothing just canceled. Often over two years. Never again.

Poor customer service

My card was cancelled when i tried to buy a gold coin. For two months capital one has failed to replace the card with excuse after excuse. This is the worst customer service i have had in my life.

Bad bad bad

Disputed an item which Amazon failed to deliver yet claimed as delivered.

Capital One assigned and reversed temporary my credits 4 times and each time made it look like it's a final decision. I spent hours on this.

Now they claim i have already disputed and it's denied.

YES, when i called I literally said Capital One does not have my back and your reps disputed for me again and again. Why didn't they say it's final? What a waste of
Time. They are not protected customers from fraud.

Switching banks soon.

Horrible company.

I pay my bill as soon as a charge shows up. My cards stay at zero or below. They still charge me interest… All lies. Don't make the mistake I did. Get a real credit card. Customer service is horrible also. Been with them for 14yrs. Nothing but issues….

This is the worst credit card I've ever had. This company does honor monthly payments unless it's in the full amount. If not in the full amount, they continue to add interest charges even if you pay the full amount before the next due date. They claim they continue to add charges daily! What is the point of a credit card if I spend 2,000 and have to pay the FULL amount the next billing cycle. There's no point in a minimum payment if that's the case. I'm not even going to mention customer service. Long waits for bad news.

I just got off the phone with a supervisor at Capital One requesting a waiver of a late fee charge because I was unemployed temporarily due to Omicron virus and I'm working again. Despite my record with capital one for over 5 years with very little or hardly any lapse in payment history until the recent unemployment, he totally disregarded my request saying that we all have hardship sometimes and that was not sufficient reason and justified an additional interest charge and annual fee to bring my total to $97 instead of the $32 monthly payment and overcharge fee. Horrible customer service. I will soon have enough to pay of their total balance and will no longer do business with Capital One

Quicksilver One has the lowest credit limit when approved it never gives credit increases even years after being approved you can request over an over for an increase for years and never get one a bad credit card to apply for you should not apply for Quicksilver One

They used to be great - now they are tyrants and cancel your cards if a name is wrong on an invoice... doesn't matter that you call them and verify your identity and prove that your initial charge is authorized, etc. If Visa/MC flagged it once, just once, their systems will cancel your card automatically... how stupid, beyond stupid is this policy. Fraud protection should not over ride the rights of the card holder, etc. Do all of us a favor, stop using capital one - I will.

Ditto to all that has been said here about accessing the account, changing the login and saying "there's something different" and requiring verification, poor customer service when nothing has changed. I've been squeezed out of access in various forms (branches closing, updating app until it wouldn't work on my phone, and now login spontaneous changes) and have a business to run, so inability to access accounts is inexcusable. This bank is irresponsible and in spite of decent account and card perks, I find their system obnoxious and time consuming
