So my husband and I went to camping world in Akron to by a camper. This was first time we ever went to buy a camper. Well we went there on August the 20th of 2022 found a camper so we went back up the next week on August the 27th 3022 to pick it up and the slide out was broke on the brand new camper pulled loose from the camper. So they claimed it would only take a week to fix ha ha! So here we are a month later on September the 27th demanding another just like that one. Now mind you we called repeatedly about the first camper. So they sent paper work to sign to bring another camper to us they brought it on September the30th well guess what it had a cracked water pump and the the underbelly was full of water. They came got it took it back to cw Akron and it's still there. We called them in Feburary of 2023 and asked if it was done and said yes so we scheduled a day to bring it back on March the 3rd of 2023. So we both took off from work and they never showed or called to say they was not coming. So we we went there and it was still not done went there on Sat the 4th the underbelly was still full of water and not winterized because they winterized the 1st came we didn't take. What a joke still waiting
It all began back in October of 2017. We took the camper in for service because one of the slides was sticking and the tanks wouldn't empty completely. There were a few other minor issues as well, even though the camper is only about three years old. From October to January, we were given the run-around regarding repairs. We were told the repairs were being done, then that they were waiting for parts, then that the part were delivered, then that they were installing said parts, only to hear again, that they parts hadn't come in yet. This is the Hope Mills NC location. In December, we began contacting corporate because there was not only a lack of communication (they stopped responding to our phone calls) but the information was consistently inconsistent. 95 days later, after our daughter wrote a blog and began a Twitter campaign, we were told the camper was ready for pick up. We found out that same day that the lines were frozen, to which they tried to blame us for it, but the camper had been sitting on their lot for the past three months and five days and it was still mid-80's in temperature here when we'd originally dropped it off. Not to mention, they'd been instructed both by corporate and my husband to make sure the lines and tanks were drained because severe cold weather was on the way. They asked us to bring the camper back so that they could make sure there was no damage from their failure and informed us that the faucets and the washing machine unit were damaged from the bursting lines, as well as there was a water leak from the lines in the master bedroom. Two weeks and one day later, we pick the camper back up only to find that the service department had failed to secure the washing machine unit onto the shelf in the master bedroom closet. The washer is now damaged beyond repair and we're waiting on word from Camping World as to how they're planning to fix this. Do not use this company. Went to camping world and had hreat service by technician ken. Will return he went above and beyound
I was told this was a Christian family business, but let me tell you about our experience with Camping World in Alvarado...
My husband and I were shopping for a camper and our credit wasn't the best to work with, but was approved by SAGO Financial. We put a deposit down on the camper to hold for us, this was in December of 2021. We got a call saying that the tow frame on the camper was broke and they needed to order the part and have it fixed before we could drive it off of the lot, because it being a dangerous thing - it could break and flip the camper over while driving. We were also told that since it was a Coleman, they could only get that part through Coleman, so it was going to take awhile. We would have to call and check the status on it all the time, to see how much longer it was going to be before we could pick up our trailer (was guaranteed ours since we had a deposit on it). Well come February, still no trailer. The salesman that we've been working with said he would get back to me. I told him that we had already made a reservation for March spring break to go camping. You would think by then it would be fixed.
A few days later my husband gets a call from the finance department and tells us that since it has taken so long for the part, SAGO has gone out of business (bankrupt) and there's no other finance agency that will finance us.
Our heart was broken, we spent a LOT of money buying for this particular camper, in their store mind you! Now we were out of money and in a panic all at once... What are we going to do?
We went to Fun Town and was finance that day and guess who financed us? SAGO, yes... they said that they never went out of business and can't believe we were told that.
Camping World flat out lied to us and I personally believe that we had got such a great deal on the camper we had a deposit on at camping world, until the part came in and they realized they were going to be out money because that part wasn't cheap.
This isn't right to do people like this, especially after we waiting for several months (not our fault the part was broke) and we spent so much money for bedding and to fix that particular camper up for our liking.
VERY UNCHRISTIAN LIKE, TO LIE AND DO PEOPLE THAT WAY...
I bought a camper from Camping world in Myrtle Beach SC this past summer (2022). We took it camping for the first time in July and had numerous issues with it. The siding came off the side, the hinge on the front door popped off, the lock on the storge just turns with your hand, the rivets in the steps came off, the travel light not sealed, the bathtub not sealed, the shower head leaks, the kitchen drawer would not shut due to a wood block behind it, and the slide out when closed and supposedly sealed you could see outside at both sides bottom corners. We called Goodsams and took our camper to have it repaired under the warranty 7/19/22 It was there about a month and we had not heard anything. We went by to check on it and they told us they had put in a for warranty approval with the manufacturer (camper is Pioneer Heartland toy hauler). Camping world told us itwas the manufacturer holding things up. Called the manufacturer before leaving Camping World. Manufacturer had nothing on file for us. I went back inside Camping World to confront the young lady who had just told me a bold face lie. She would not come out and speak with us. A manager came out and said he would do it right now and did not understand why the girl lied. So at this time I called the corporate office Goodsam. They assign a person to my case. I get calls every now and then usually only after I call them. I have asked for someone higher up but never get a call back. So now 2 months have went by and they have fixed only a few of the items. Things they could have completed without waiting on parts where not even fixed. They they tell us parts will be in mid Sept we get a call not in... then it will be 1st week of Oct. I call to check on it and they said it should be ready by Oct 14,2022. No call or contact from them at all. I call today again ask for a manager, I do not get one. The girl answering the phone says she can only leave messages. Still no camper 10/24/22
I ordered 2 sofas, 2 recliners and 2 sets of legs to install the sofas for my rear-engine Class A pusher. I spent $3200 for the furniture, shipping and expedited 2 day shipping. All items were "in stock".
Next day I get an email that the legs for the sofas were "on 2 week backorder". How the hell do you install sofas without legs? (Like buying a new car and find out that the seats are on back order) Mind you they did not bother/offer to refund the $189 I paid for "expedited shipping 2 day ". I had to DEMAND THE REFUND.
I call Camping World Customer Service. After 15 minutes on hold for "questions on my order", I call them on the other line at my office but this time I punch "#1 to place an order". Wonders of wonders, I IMMEDIATELY had a representative (I left the other line on hold to see how long it would take for them to pickup up----30 mins if you have a question on order status but immediate response if you want to order something) The representative refunds my $189 expedited order and tells me the legs will be here "in a few days". She tells me the furniture should "arrive in a few days". I told her "I paid for expedited shipping". Her response is that "expedited shipping" only applies to certain items. I told her that they did not explain that in the order when they charged me $189 extra. She said that Camping World knew all about this and this was a problem that Camping World knew about, that the Customer Service Representatives keep bringing it up to Management and Management never does anything to correct the problem. Finally she takes my info and is going to have a Supervisor call me in the morning. So I hang up and finally the other Camping World representative picks up after I had been on hold for 30 minutes. I asked her why I spent 30 minutes on hold. She said, "its been so super busy here". I told her that was a lie. I had called in and pushed the prompt to place an order and it was picked up immediately. I told her she was lying to me and I wanted to talk to her Supervisor. She hung up on me.
We recently purchased a used Class "C" motorhome from Camping World, Ocala, FL. A week or so after delivery, we returned the unit to the Service Department for several issues: Install additional satellite receiver, check water leak from fresh water tank, check loose hose and wire from under dinette slide, and check roof for condition, replace coach radio.
When they finished, they said the satellite couldn't be checked until we added it to our DISH subscription. They said they obtained a signal... they couldn't have, because when it came back... there was no signal and the front receiver was no longer working. The dish was working before we took it out and upon return, it needs replaced.
The water leak was from the low point drain that wasn't closed after the unit was prepared for sale. We were charged $136, including $58 in shop parts, to close the drain valve. That should have been closed following the preparation.
We were told they did a "22" point roof inspection before it was put up for sale and at our request they did it again and advised that the roof was fine. Following this incident we had an independent technician check it and found numerous cracks and missing vents. The repair will now cost us more that $800. Again... that should have been done before the unit was sold.
We asked them to check a loose cable/hose underneath the dining room slide. They advised they secured it and charged $44... the cable/hose is still loose.
Camping World advised they would refund the $136.30 for the drain valve issue, but said that we would need to return the coach for the other repairs. We advised that we no longer have any trust for their service department and won't be dealing with them further.
We would advise anyone to be wary of Camping World's Service Department. We don't know what their issue is, but they've demonstrated to us that they are untrustworthy in both making any repairs or in their billing for shoddy work... if it was done at all. We are VERY disappointed in Camping World's Service and will not be returning.
I just baught my 2018 toy hauler. Descent price. It looks brand new. The staff was very efficient, informative and helpful.
BEST JOB EVER DREAM JOB WAITED A LIFE TIME TO WORK HERE,LOVE THE OUTDOORS LOVE EDUCATING PEOPLE ON THEIR VACATIONS AND NEW CAMPERS!
I would like to complement New Braunfels Camping World Parts & Service Director Samuel (Sam) Wooldridge for the professional manner in which he, finally, resolved issues with the maintenance and replacement of axles and tires on my 2006 Keystone Everest 344J 5th wheel RV, which finally allowed me to take it home this evening. My RV had been at Camping World for nearly three months (since August 1, WO *******) and numerous TELECONs and visits with various service advisors had produced nothing but a "run around" about the service delay of the vehicle. Sam cut through all the "minutia" and, within less than three hours, had the RV ready to go.
Also, many thanks to the associate who helped me with the hook up of my trailer. Unfortunately, I did not get his name but his assistance in getting the RV hooked up to my new truck definitely saved me a lot of pain and heart ache.
Although I've been a Good Sam member for many years and have had maintenance performed on numerous RVs at various Camping World locations, I definitely had a bad feeling about New Braunfels Camping World until Sam stepped up. He was a breath of fresh air!
The 2022 Thor Magnitude BT 36 motorhome my wife and I bought from Liberty Lake in Washington state last year for $ 287,,00,00, was junk, It had so many serious problems wrong with i we lost count., The sales department made us all kinds of promises until they had our money, then they referred. Every one of our issues the service department. Two toilets had to be replaced, one sink, one bathroom faucet was leaking all over the floor. You have to kick the recliners down to close them. The 1/2-bathroom door had a big chip out of it, so they replaced with one that is to small for the door jam and wont close and stay shut. The dish satellite was installed incorrectly, the canopy has an arm that sticks out when retracting., The wall sensors for the toilets levels do not work, the valve to flush the gray and black waste tanks are installed incorrectly. The 50 amp power cable skin is pulling away from the plug in and you can see the wires. We left the state on our first big trip, the temperature was 75 degrees and the windshield started fogging up, found out that the windshield was delaminating. Theirs plenty more to tell you about but what's more important for you to know about their service department policy's or lack of their of. First off the service manager is a liar, telling customers work was preformed that wasn't done Their process for ordering parts thar are being replaced for warrantee sucks and takes to long. They will take care of a cash paying customer first because they make way more money then warrantee word. Also, getting appointments to get work done could and has taken up to months. As soon as we get to ware we are going we're going so sell this unit. So if you don't care about loosing your $#*! don't heed our warning.
Camping World is good at one thing... telling you what you want to hear. Otherwise, they have failed in every possible way. Right from the get-go, it was high pressure sales in Toledo, OH. They want to push you into payment plans even when you have CASH to buy the fifth-wheel you want. Once our RV arrived to us in Arizona, we quickly realized that it had been leaking for MONTHS, causing interior damage and mold. Taking it to the local (Avondale) Phoenix Camping World for warranty repairs was a nightmare. It sat on their lot for almost FOUR MONTHS while they lied to us, claiming they were awaiting parts, when in actuality they had failed to answer emails from the manufacturer so the trailer was left to sit INDEFINITELY until we tracked down the right people at the manufacturer and basically did their job for them. When we finally got the trailer back, one of the other major repairs was not done properly and we were left at a campsite with a kitchen slide that would not retract. On top of it all, I (stupidly) ordered an expensive water filter through them. After waiting close to 3 weeks for the filter, I contacted their catalog customer service. They guy was unprofessional and unhelpful. He basically just said he'd call me back because my item was supposed to ship from the manufacturer. After waiting hours for a call that would never come, I had to call the manufacturer directly and was able to get my water filter shipped to me.
STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY FROM EVERY SINGLE ASPECT OF THIS COMPANY. THEY CAN'T SERVICE THEIR PRODUCTS, NOR CAN THEY EVEN SEND YOU THE ITEMS YOU BUY. I'm done with this horrible company for good.
Don't let them fast talk you. We purchased a camper from them and while we are satisfied with the camper, we are upset at ourselves and their process. They have hidden charges and key things they say to trap you into paying for things you don't need. DON'T BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITHOUT ASKING FOR PRICE. DON'T BUY THE GAP WITHOUT ASKING FOR PRICE. DON'T GET THE TOW PACKAGE, YOU CAN GET IT CHEAPER ON AMAZON, AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...ARGUE WITH THEM ABOUT THE PREP FEE. THEY LITERALLY CHARGE FOR WASHING THAT CAMPER AND CLEANING UP THE INSIDE AND WALKING YOU THROUGH BEFORE YOU LEAVE! These are all things they add to the price before charging you taxes. This drives up the amount of purchase so that the salesman get a better commission. I have attached proof of purchase invoice on what we paid. I made notes on the side of each cost. When you purchase a car the dealership cleans that thing up for you before you leave...FOR FREE! Fight this charge, it is totally unnecessary. If I had known we were being charged this, I would have walked out until they decided to give it to me for free, or not sell a camper. They did not go over this invoice before we left and it was our mistake for not making them. Had I saw these charges we would have haggled. I think they might do this every time. They use key phrases like "do you need hitch work?" DON'T SAY YES. If you say yes, you are getting that expensive hitch and paying about 300.00 more than one on Amazon. This dealership was in Breaux Bridge, LA. We did not do our research before we went. Had we done our research we would not have gone to Camper World. They have a very low rating. Do your research DON'T BE US. We will tell everyone of our experience, and will discourage anyone we know from going to a Camper World.
Asked 3 weeks ago about generator service and they showed me a sheet of paper that had Diesel Generator service, said I would call and set up an appointment, left a vm two days and no return call, went in to schedule the appointment. I asked again if the service included all filters, oil, fuel and cleaning the spark arester, the gal from parts overhead the service writer( apparently new) and brought out the cummins onan generator kit which says it included everything. Showed up today 15 minutes early to get paper work done and was told it should take an hour or so, I said great as I was waiting on it. After two hours, I asked for status and she said she would go check on tech, she came back apologizing that it wasn't done yet and he was letting the engine cool, I said what are you talking about since it was a generator service which is in the front of the pusher and I had not run it. He was planning to change the engine oil, it was a cluster from then on. After 4 hours, they tell me they are waiting on O'Reilly to deliver oil and I go, you have the 15w30 sitting on the shelf and she gives me the funny look. The original service writer disappears and another young lady who remembered me making the appointment starts to finish the ticket and I ask again about fuel filter, not sure we do those, as we don't really service diesel genrators, I go what? Anyway, by now I am boiling mad that they wasted the entire day and only changed the oil. I get home and crawl under it and it has same filter on it and the dipstick shows a quart low. The last service writer apologized again and said her hands were tied, I guess so.
As I was leaving, another gentlemen that had a 5th wheel and I got to visiting and he says his trailer had been there 10 months and they still had not fixed it.
Last time I will be in Camping screw you World.
I purchased a new 2022 motorhome from Camping World in April 2023. We mutually agreed to do all the paperwork electronically because I live in California and the coach was located in South Carolina. Upon reviewing the contracts, I noticed there were extra charges for GAP insurance and an extended warranty program that I did not ask for nor did I want. I immediately called the finance manager and informed her of these additional fees, and she insisted that I needed to sign the contracts and return them within the next 48 hours, or the approved loan will have met its deadline and would no longer be available to me. She further insisted that the GAP insurance and warranty could be reversed upon request and all monies would be refunded towards the lending financial institution. I signed all contracts and took delivery about a week later. At this time, I informed the finance officer I wanted the insurance and warranty fees refunded and she agreed to cancel those items for me. About one month later I again contacted the finance manager via email to have the services cancelled and was told she knew nothing about my request. She in fact called me a liar in her email response to me. So, I contacted her store manager who said he would investigate and help with my request. In August I contacted the corporate office as Marcus suggests he has an open-door policy, and any customer may contact him directly. Of course, this is not true, and I was met with a phone operator trained to receive complaints from customers such as myself. The operator informed me that someone would be returning my call to assist with my situation. I later received a call from someone that identified himself as the General Manager. I submitted all of my emails and dissatisfaction to him and requested a confirmation of receipt from him. He did provide the confirmation and that is as far as his assistance went. It has been 2 months since our last communication and still I have not received and refunds to my lending institution nor has the undesired services been cancelled. These services are costing me $11,350.00 against my will and can only be cancelled by Camping World. Not only am I paying for services I never requested however, I am also paying interest towards the loan for these services. Camping World has only proven again and again that they are out to get money any way possible and complete disregard for consumer satisfaction.
The purchase was simple 3/2022 of course because no delays when they are making the mighty green $.
Service - a nightmare a year going and strong.
From no follow up email or auto system or calls.
Lies - of parts being order and us calling the manufacturer to verify no order has been submitted.
Multiple calls to Marcus in corporate which are trained call center rep who handles issues.
Lies - they are working on it and us showing up unannounced and the RV had not been touched.
2 manager changes - three employee gone who were assigned to our Work order.
Changed locations from Ft Pierce Florida (where no one knows nothing and everyone passes the buck) to
Location in Kissimmee in Florida 1/2/2021 (We asked for our parts which showed up 4 months later and sat in service for 2 months with no work or notification to us. Only to hear them say we cant find your parts so we are giving you someone else's parts b/c they are the same decor). REALLY WOW! SO we took our parts to a different camping world.)where we thought oh great a breathe of fresh air Kissimmee Florida this rep is on the ball. Which she was until she was gone. Now no one knows anything and not sure where things were left off. They just read notes which are not updated. So here we are it was a slide motor issue it was diagnosed 1/10/2023 and no parts were ordered until Feb 15. So it sat for a month with no part ordered. Then the parts we provided were to replace wood facing in the outdoor kitchen and a piece for the left closet door in the front room (master) which in Fort Pierce a employee screwed the wood piece from the fromt vs the sides. So screws were exposed. The repair for that was due to a cabinet wood frame was cut in an angle vs straight. The damage piece was unscrewed to fix angle and was to be put right back. It was left laying in the cabinet so the new tech screwed it up literally. SO now we are hoping they cut a new piece correctly and that they installed it correctly. HOPING the kitchen is correct. Then hoping the installation of the new slide motor is done correctly and in a timely fashion...sadly we are at their mercy.
The only times anyone did anything or called or emailed was because corporate made phone calls and communication.
CONCLUSION -----All is WARRANTY WORK so we are at the end of the line against a paying customer.
We have only been able to use our RV 6 times in 2022 and now they won't even extend the warranty so that when we do use it - if something happens from a more frequent use - we get coverage.

Camping World has Super Shady Practices! I was researching the value of our camping trailer. I put in my info on a couple sites looking for retail price on our trailer so I could list it. Camper World called me asking to purchase or co-signed it for us. Something I had not considered. I talked to my husband and we realized we might take a small loss on it, but that would be worth the time it would take to list and talk to potential buyers. We agreed to co-sign our trailer with them under a 90 day contract, which they stated they were confident they could sell it. They listed it for 40k way over high MSRP value, which was 36k. Half way through they lowered it to 36k which was still to high. They did not price it it sell, I feel they priced it to keep it in inventory because they did not have a 2021 Forest River Hood Edition r-pod 202. Either way we were getting 26k regardless of what it sold for. I understand they need to make a profit, but let's keep it realistic. To my knowledge (looking online) they never did lower it beyond 36k. After the 90 days they said they would give us 17k, stating the summer was almost over and it would be harder to sell. At which point we said we would pick it up. Then to top it all off they lost our license plate (they did deliver our r-pod to us as we had no license plate and offered to reimburse us the cost of the plate).I understand that they needed to make profit, but felt this entire deal was extremely shady. No one ever contacted me unless I contacted them first. If we had not been under contract I would have picked it long before the 90 days and sold it on my own. I have learned my lesson. I nor any of my family members will deal with Camper in World for any reason, (buy, trade or sell) ever again.
Took my 2021 Durango Gold to Monticello location for a simple warranty fix. They had it for three months and managed to cause 10's of thousands of dollars in damage by backing it into other campers. The back 3/4's of the door side, slides, doors, walls, windows, and roof all needed extensive repairs and/or replacement. They also charged the manufacturer for around 6k in repairs and accessories that were never fixed and I'm still not sure why they billed for accessories. They didn't fix the warranty work (a shade, they simply swapped it for another one inside the camper, so the one they were to fix appears to be fixed but the broken shade is on another window). They trashed the inside of my brand new camper tracking grease, anti freeze, mud, and what appears to be some kind of adhesive all over, staining the flooring. They damaged the sofa and ottoman and used the toilet in the bathroom without flushing. They lost all my keys and key fob from my keyless entry. When I went to get my RV to pull it to the manufacturer dealer to have it fixed, they would not release it without me signing a waiver. When I refused to sign they said they couldn't release my camper to me. I had to call the Sheriff's Department who had to come and tell them they had to release my camper as it was not their property, even then the deputy was met with some resistance. They refused to give me their insurance information, even tho they were explained it is Minnesota law, they argued that it wasn't. I tried to contact corporate and was given the run around and referred to a general customer service line. A manager finally called me and we had a good talk conversation on a number of occasions and I thought we were getting things accomplished. Now all communications have stopped and no one will talk to me or return emails. I am in the process of requesting FOIA records on Camping World as the Sheriff's Deputy informed me this situation is constant (not confirmed). Once I receive the FOIA request I will post information and photos as well as the court case number.
We bought a 5th wheel 2 years ago from a Camping World. We also purchased an extended warranty for $2500. They were very happy to sell us the RV and warranty. Getting needed service repairs has been terrible. A couple of the issues were the valves for the tanks were labeled wrong and very hard to pull out, the electrical outlets in the kitchen and island worked sometimes and didn't work other times. We also ended up needing the fresh water tank replaced. After taking it to the shop several times they replaced the water tank. They said there was no issue with the valves and they could find no issue with the electrical outlets. (We had an rv repair person come to our rv and he found the electrical issue in about 5 minutes). When they put the underbelly back on the 5th wheel it wasn't attached properly. We have a motorcycle strap under it holding it up.
It is now at a different Camping World trying to get repairs done. (the motor for leveling jacks on the front went out and the fireplace quit working and some other small issues). We are visiting in Florida for about 2.5 to 3 months. Before coming down we called and made an appointment. They went over the list of repairs needed and left the 5th wheel there. They were supposed to look over our 5th wheel and get us an estimate and verify any repairs covered by extended warranty. The service person said there was nothing wrong with the underbelly. (It's attached with only 4-5 screws and is hanging down in the front). We have called them on a regular basis. It's been over 2 months and the parts were just ordered last week. (If they were actually ordered). Getting them to call us back is hit and miss. They don't seem to know how to run a service department. I worked in a service oriented business for almost 18 years. If we had been known it would be 3+ months to get repairs we could have made other plans. Now we have to go back to our home state and then drive back down when the rv gets done. Or just go pick it up and try to find another place to work on it. Since we live in our 5th wheel full time this has been hard. We will not buy from a Camping World again and will not have any repairs done with them. We will be finding a place that does quality work on RV repairs. We have owned 2 other RV's and had very little issues. This is the only one bought from a Camping World.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
