The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation, with customers frequently expressing frustration over prolonged service delays, inadequate repairs, and poor customer support. Many reviews highlight issues with product quality and the perceived lack of accountability from the company, particularly regarding warranty claims and post-purchase service. While a few customers noted positive interactions with individual staff members, these instances are overshadowed by widespread dissatisfaction with sales tactics and unresolved complaints. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for improved customer service practices and greater transparency in product quality and repair processes.

Please don't give them any more of your hard earned money. When you need them they will not be there for you! I felt forced into buying the trailer and bullied as I did so, I said I did not want the GAP coverage so he made sure I had it. They totally took advantage of me. I need to resell the trailer due to Medical issues and they sold it to me but will not help me sell it or buy it back for any price! I'm devastated and heart broken... Don't go here! You will regret it!
So many things are going wrong with my experience with Gander RV / Camping World of Cicero. First we received a phone call asking us to come in and look at the campers. 2.5 hour ride later we arrive and decide to go with a camper from them at one of the shows. They couldn't get the paperwork done in time so we had to come back. When I went to do my walk through there was damage done to a brand new camper to a shelf on the inside. They ordered parts to fix it and I am still waiting since Jan for delivery of my camper. They have never called me to give me any updates on the parts. I have always had to call them. I contacted Gander RV because they say you can contact the CEO and that didn't help either. Now the service manager is not even returning my calls so I can have an update. The one time I called the employee told me I can call the manufacturer myself to get an update on the parts... shouldn't that be their job? Now I am going on month and payment 3 with nothing to show for it. Yes they did say they could deliver my broken camper but then also followed up with "you can bring it back to get fixed", remember I said it was 2.5 hour one way to this place. I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received from here and will make sure I let everyone I know not to go here. I will keep calling everyday to try to get an answer.
We purchased our brand new Montana High Country 5th Wheel on September 8,2021 at Camping World in Tulsa; we had to take it back to Camping World in Tulsa due to a horrific leak in the living room slide out on December 9,2021; as of February 27,2022 they HAVE NOT even ordered the parts to fix it! Camping World has had our camper for going on FOUR months while we are unable to use it all while we are still making the monthly payment.
Huge mistake on our part! Regretting ever going with Camping World.
PS - I can't upload the videos that I have so I had to take screenshots and they aren't very good quality pictures.
UPDATE: They did text my husband to say that the repairs have been approved, the parts have been ordered, and hoping to have the RV ready for pickup at the end of the month.
OMG, what a painful process at Camping World. I did however get the unit I wanted only after hours of brutal notifications and deflection of poor grades of up sells. They implement high pressure sales techniques, targeting high profit lower quality units. (Corporate probably made deal with a manufacturer to push those particular units) DO YOUR RESEARCH!
I bought an Rv with an overpriced service plan. Was told I could cancel and get a refund if I changed my mind. After multiple lies and 3 months later I still don't have my money. These are very pushy sales people and straight up lie to your face. I don't recommend you buy anything from these folks. Camping world Chattanooga, Tennessee. Stay away from Phillip if you don't want to lose your money and your sanity.
The way Camping world handles warranty issues is an absolute joke in my opinion. Having to send in a request to the manufacturer for approval on things as simple as re caulking a sink or shower surround is pitiful. If the manufacturer has that much distrust in there dealers maybe we should too. Communication is not good either and that goes all the way up in my experiences soo far. Please do yourself a favor don't just bypass Camping World on all sales and issues but run long hard and fast from them.
We purchased a travel trailer from Camping World, Chichester, NH in January 2022. We have now been calling for 3 weeks to schedule a pick up of the unit to head south. We have called and emailed so many times we have lost count. Not one phone or email back. Absolute nothing. The receptionist won't even put us through to anyone! The customer ends the second the door shuts behind your sale. At this point we don't even want to give money to this company and would rather they just cancel the entire sale and we will head tomorrow and purchase from somewhere else. We are thoroughly disgusted from the complete lack of response. BUYER BEWARE - Shop elsewhere and save yourself all the grief and aggravation.
Camping World is an incompetent, understaffed money machine for Marcus Lemonis. I have been dealing with them for several years and have bought two travel trailers from them (embarrassing). My recent experience was to buy a new camper, which I signed for on Christmas eve, 2021. During the day of purchase, they kept us there for hours doing something in the back rooms without speaking to us for long periods or offering us any sort of refreshment. Then, on delivery day, it was the same thing --several mistakes and errors in delivery prep (for which they charged us over $600 in the sale), causing us to almost loose control of the trailer on the way home (improperly installed hitch). Upon storing the new camper, we found a staple in the spare tire --flat as a board.
On our shakedown camping trip, we had to stop using the shower due to a leak in the water lines under the pan, and we found that the struts for lifting the bed were nearly flat. Additionally, there was a tear in one of the bunkhouse couch covers and the backrest was missing. They put the couch items on a "we owe" list.
We brought it back for warranty work on Feb. 1st. It is still there, and we were told yesterday, March 1st, that they "would be ordering the struts soon" and that it would be about another month before they arrived! And we still as of this date have no word on when we will receive a new couch cover and seat back.
I have complained twice to the corporate office ("If you're not happy, I'm not happy" Marcus Lemonis) and have received no reply at all.
Lastly, the service department often doesn't answer their phone or call you back if you leave a message.
Fair warning! It will be a horrible experience if you deal with them!
All of my experience has been with the Calera, Alabama location.
We purchased a 2021 Sandpiper FLOK on Sept. 30 of 2021 which listed@ 89K. Upon it's arrival at the dealership, we were informed to come for a walk through. After a 2.5 hour trip to the dealer, WE, NOT THE DEALER determine the camper was damaged both internally and externally. Fast forward, after the external damage was repaired by their local body shop, we were once again informed to arrive in Cicero at 8:00 am. Well, after another 2.5 hour trip the body work was completed satisfactory however, the 20 interior punch list items such as broken off doors, damaged molding, hanging wires, table incorrectly installed(backwards), molding installed incorrectly(wrinkles), slide out seals too short, dented refrigerator, and the list goes on and on. Now, please understand, we have been very patient during this entire process but, the lies we were told such as the camper equipped with folding chairs( seen in the FR flyer), and a King size pillow top bed folding mattress, both are no longer unavailable and considered to be a misprint. Please understand, both the sales men( Hunter and Michael) lead us to believe and discussed both during the sale the importance of both folding chairs and a king size mattress. Fast forward to Feb. 28th 2022(5 months after signed contract) our emails inquiring status have gone silent, our requests for update are not unresponsive and their corporate complaint department is a dead end.
They told us that online prices were only for people with an 800+ credit score. They had us drive 1.5 hours to make fun of our tow vehicle. Then tell us that they couldn't help us unless we put over 4k down for a ******* camper. They gave us a monthly price without ever even running my credit. The salesman almost refused to show us the camper we went to look at and only wanted to show us a model that was 200lbs under our max tow weight and that was much more expensive. I'll never return to any camper world.
We bought a 5th wheel 2 years ago from a Camping World. We also purchased an extended warranty for $2500. They were very happy to sell us the RV and warranty. Getting needed service repairs has been terrible. A couple of the issues were the valves for the tanks were labeled wrong and very hard to pull out, the electrical outlets in the kitchen and island worked sometimes and didn't work other times. We also ended up needing the fresh water tank replaced. After taking it to the shop several times they replaced the water tank. They said there was no issue with the valves and they could find no issue with the electrical outlets. (We had an rv repair person come to our rv and he found the electrical issue in about 5 minutes). When they put the underbelly back on the 5th wheel it wasn't attached properly. We have a motorcycle strap under it holding it up.
It is now at a different Camping World trying to get repairs done. (the motor for leveling jacks on the front went out and the fireplace quit working and some other small issues). We are visiting in Florida for about 2.5 to 3 months. Before coming down we called and made an appointment. They went over the list of repairs needed and left the 5th wheel there. They were supposed to look over our 5th wheel and get us an estimate and verify any repairs covered by extended warranty. The service person said there was nothing wrong with the underbelly. (It's attached with only 4-5 screws and is hanging down in the front). We have called them on a regular basis. It's been over 2 months and the parts were just ordered last week. (If they were actually ordered). Getting them to call us back is hit and miss. They don't seem to know how to run a service department. I worked in a service oriented business for almost 18 years. If we had been known it would be 3+ months to get repairs we could have made other plans. Now we have to go back to our home state and then drive back down when the rv gets done. Or just go pick it up and try to find another place to work on it. Since we live in our 5th wheel full time this has been hard. We will not buy from a Camping World again and will not have any repairs done with them. We will be finding a place that does quality work on RV repairs. We have owned 2 other RV's and had very little issues. This is the only one bought from a Camping World.
We have had our new 2021 Montana 3780RL for just about a week now. One of the main reasons we purchased a new coach was to be able to get something new and keep it nice. Our sales person told us that Camping World makes service visits, because they know how inconvenient it is for people living in their RV to bring it in for repairs. That was a big selling point to us. Well they lied. Imagine that.
I discovered a hydraulic fluid leak in the battery compartment. Easily spotted and should have never left the dealer in that condition. When I called to have service sent out, they were happy to inform me that CW does not send service out and that I would have to make an appointment to bring the coach in for service. They will not bend, and are now harassing me to schedule a service visit when they delivered the unit (they knew my truck could not haul it when I bought it). So now I am stuck trying to fix a hydraulic leak on the unit myself since i can not move it. Moral of the story... dont buy from Camping World. If you do, make sure you get everything your sleazy salesperson says in writing or on video. Better yet, just skip the camper and buy a house... or tent camp if you want to camp. F U Camping World!
Found two or three different stores here in Florida and asks about price matching one story says no another store says yes but another store says we do even emailed Marcus about how unhappy I am because I need a control board for my gas hot water heater in my smaller RV after six years being a good Sam member and renewing my membership every year I doubt I will renew it for next year what a shame. It kinda does not surprise me by the way it's all going in this world.
I bought my RV in 2018 and I was new to the RV World. I bought a used 2017 ForesSalem Hemisphere Light. They told me when to take it camping and what ever is wrong they will fix it because North Carolina has a 10 day lemon law. We had a leak from the out door kitchen being removed and toilet was broken. Camping World told me to turn it in on the warranty because all sales were final. My floor rotted and became because it took 2 years to locate and fix the leak from the outdoor kitchen. Then recently I went from Charlotte to Petersburg, VA I hooked up the water to the trailer, I had water, went to the store came back trailer was under water and had a river flowing under the trailer. I unhooked the filter and regulator valve from the outdoor water faucet and from the water hose. I went and bought a new filter I left the new filter in my vehicle. I talked to camping World and asked them to look at the hot water heater because water was coming from the hot water heater. I told her water hose was unhooked just hook up water hose only so he can check water heater. Camping World told me they found nothing wrong but I need to pay $141 dollars now I just paid $150 for them to come out and if they found nothing wrong this would be all I would have to pay. They trying to charge me $141 dollars because their repair man said you need to replace your regulator valve. When he had no business touching it was unhooked and laying on the ground. He was supposed to check hot water heater only. He did not have authorization to touch anything else. Do not do business with camping World ever!
Firstly to our first host, the young Hogan Mims, who attended us from the beginning, with interest, professionalism, patience for not knowing the English language (only Spanish), at no time did he feel frustrated or impatient, on the contrary, we he treated us politely and affectionately and found us a colleague who is bilinguals that he could translate and explain everything to us and the best options that we could've, he was attentive to everything that we needed to achieve our purchase, until the last moment he was by our side, we are really very grateful for all his behavior towards us, he is an excellent sales agent.
The second person who attended us was Oscar Dayoub,(bilingual), he was our translator when we needed him, a respectful man, Cuban like us, talkative, intelligent and friendly, characteristics of our countrymen, who treated us as if we were family, explaining all the things in detail and he called us when it was necessary, some document so that we could take it to Camping World and he always gave us his positive opinion in all the procedures that we were doing, at all time he was present helping us to have the best possible time in that process, without this person, Really do not know if we would have achieved our goal, how did we already do it, once again a thousand thanks for your excellent performance as an agent and worker and for your help towards us, many blessings to you and your family. And finally, I also want to thank the gentleman, who explained to us each and every one of the things and parts of our new Rv, he showed a lot of patience, knowledge and professionalism, he was also very friendly, I don't know his name and II apologize for that. And many thanks also to, the last agent, who assisted us Rashaad Duncan, with whom we ended up signing many papers and documents necessary for the purchase of the trailer, he was very professional, creative and explicit, we really liked the attention he gave us, thank you for all your help.
We have had many issues with our Brand new Thor Challenger, but these are factory issues that Camping World Tampa has tried to rectify for us. There was lack of workmanship directly from the factory, that unfortunately there aren't enough workers to fix the issues locally in a timely manner. We're grateful for Nathan, our salesman for making our time there bearable, the service department for paying attention to all of our concerns and all of the employees who went out of their way to make us comfortable during all the long hours and days we spent there. We appreciate all of you! Cindy & Rickie Oxyer
The salesman named Doc was great. He was a wealth of knowledge and information. Not at all pushy or typical of someone who's thirsty to make a sale. Very courteous and professional
Worst experience ever! Purchased new camper during an RV show, refused to give me copies of sales documents. Went to pick the following week to find the brand new unit was damaged. Waited over 5 hours for them to get a replacement ready. Had to resign all of the paperwork, again, not provided with copies. Everything they said would be "thrown in" was charged in the final price. Then CW did not send the corrected papers to the lender and have been trying to get this fixed for over a week. Sent email with details of my complaint and how all of the extras we were charged for were not disclosed prior to the sale are over $5000. Half of which we did NOT agree to but have been charged for anyway. Have called and emailed to both Marcus and the finance manager with NO RESPONSE! Guess I'll have to file a formal complaint to the Federal Trade Commission for the violation of the Truth in Lending Act. Was still not provided with the second set of sales & loan documents at pick up and had to request a copy after the incorrect loan bill came. That is when I found that the extra charges had been charged. So remarkably angry and they just don't care! Buyer Beware of Camping World!
I had an outside LP gas leak. There hourly rate is advertised as &159.00 an hour. When I got the bill there were additional charges (like 40.00 sanitary fee) because they went in the coach, the employee needed covid gear. There was another charge, for materials ( rags to wipe their hands?). BEWARE, there are hidden charges, not mentioned beforehand.
Answer: Honestly, the more I look to find answers on Camping world, the more negative reviews I see, had an RV dropped off a Forklift while I was signing papers! Try to beat that! New RV and dropped off a forklift. Worse yet, the corporate managers DID NOT WANT TO MAKE IT RIGHT, that folks is the legit truth! It's one thing for accidents to happen, it's another to not make things right, bad management!
Answer: Yes I have emails to show. That I have been promised a refund waiting this line I expect a full refund and the run around is with it. If would like I can forwarded you the emails and you can ask where's my check.
Answer: Terrible - didn't seem to care and basically told me I was on my own
Answer: The people at camping world will tell you that they will call you. BULL! They never called me, so I tried calling them FIVE times! Not one return call. Not very reputable!
Answer: Just keep writing letters to all of the local politicians.
