Put an order in on 3/3/25, it's now 4/1/25, still have not received my order. Contacted customer service, they said it'll be another 3 to 4 weeks. The same day I ordered from burpee, I also ordered tomato plants from Amazon, got them the next day. I have ordered every year from burpee and never had an issue till now. I will not be ordering from burpee ever again. Horrible customer service. By the time I get my plants tomato season will be done.
Purchase Russian tarragon seeds, planted them and they were some type of mint or lemon balm. Contact burpees customer services about a replacement. Here was their response.
I am so sorry to hear of this issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship to Alaska. Are you able to bring this packet back to the retail establishment for a refund? If you have anymore questions, please reach back out! Happy Gardening, Azalea

I would not recommend this company!
I just recently placed an order with Burpee to buy my spring seeds for. Two days later I get an email with the coupon code spring 25. I called up to apply the coupon and they told me they could not apply discount. The supervisor would not get on the phone to speak to me directly. I would think twice about ordering from this company.
I decided to try something new with online plants. Home Depot had everything I needed in 1/2 gallon containers. I spent $86 when I could have paid less. So upset at this crap company. Will never order plants online again.
1. The bone meal bag (their brand) where you tear top strip to then separate the two sides to pull it open so you can later reseal. I had to cut it all the way to the locking device. It was sealed all the way down. Then, even though the two locking parts were still intact (just barely) it will not lock shut. Four of us tried. The whole bag needs to be thrown out after using about 1-2 tablespoons since we were only using it to start seeds.
2. The tomato packet was empty save for two seeds in one corner.
3. Half the packets don't open and needed to be cut with scissors. Not the end of the world but everything came across as extremely cheap in presentation. It was all kind of a joke. Won't buy from them again.
I have used burped seeds for years and have been generally happy with them however this year i ordered bean seeds two varieties of bush beans and one pole type two of those were as ordered but one of the Bush bean packets had seeds of some sort of vining terrible bean seeds mixed in which took over the area and ruined that planting completely. I probably could get a refund on this if I mail back the unused seeds but that would be at my cost which would be more than the cost of the seeds to begin with and it does nothing to reimburse me for the lost growing season.
2 years in a row I have purchased several different seed packets from burpee. I have 50 yrs experience planting seeds. Out of a dozen, maybe 1 seed will sprout. I have other brand seeds growing in identical conditions that work. So it's not like I'm doing something wrong.
I ordered seeds and live plants. The Lincoln Peas turned out to be snow peas and the 21.00 live plants were barely a sprout. Won't be ordering from the site again. Also I tried to post an honest review on their website and they denied it. I guess only good reviews are acceptable, what a joke.
Bought two value packs of burpees Bush Blue lake beans, mind you they are supposed to be Bush Beans, over 80percent did not germinate so I kept planting this is what I have, no flowers no beans to say I'm pissed is a understatement. I will not make the same mistake again, burpees used to be top of the line...no more sad to say.
I bought a plant in fall 2020. It never germinated or bore fruit. I decided to give it some time to see if it would flower or fruit and it never did. The pandemic was distracting honestly and I didn't notice their 1 yr germination guarantee meant that if it didn't germinate EVER they wouldn't help. I emailed customer service and they said very coldly: Your purchase is no longer covered for refund or replacement.
It NEVER bore fruit. It's not like it bore fruit within a year and then died. They didn't even apologize - a human touch makes a HUGE difference and they didn't have one. Very disappointing customer service.
Ordered Organic Heirloom Beefsteak Tomato seeds from Burpee in February 2023. Received seeds and started indoors in April, transplanted in early June. I didn't get Beefsteaks, I got mini cluster tomatoes, possibly Cherry Tomatoes. Burpee admitted wrong seeds place in packet, would only return cost and shipping. I have a pathetic Tomato crop and doubt they're Organic. Can never trust Burpee again. Will only order from Harris Seeds from now on.
I ordered tomatoes from Burpee April 7, end of May I had already planted my garden, but contacted them because I hadn't received them. Immediately got an email they were shipping soon. Sent them a response immediately they were too late and I wanted a refund. June 1, I got a package. Poor service, poor customer service and lack of communication. Won't ever buy from them again.
One Star because you cannot give ZERO stars.
I am Sorry to be Blood Related to this company.
Place an Order, No urgency to fill nor ship your order., Bad Enough USPS Fecked up delivering it to me.
Let's try them one last time. LAST time.
Place an order, PAY for said order. SIX days later they finally ship it. Lets see what USPS handles it this time?
Used their chat bot to no avail last night.
Talked to them in Person today. That was fruitless.
Where's my Order? Well you placed it 2 days ago and we ship within 3-5 Business Days. NO, I placed and Paid for it 6 days ago! I have the receipt.
Well our record say that the post office has it now.
WTF!?
How hard is it to gather 10 packets of Seeds, should them into an envelop[e and MAIL it!?
Effing Worthless
Ordered six packs of tomato seeds including Orange Slice Hybrid. I germinated probably 6 of those seeds and the plants looked odd. I sent a picture to Burpee and they said "oops" it's probably broccoli rabe. They offered me a new pack of seeds or a refund. I responded asking for a refund and they sent me an email saying they were sending me another pack of seeds. I responded saying I didn't want the seeds, no answer. I tried to write a review on their website and the review link is dead. The plant in question is the one on the left.
Bought San Marzano tomato seeds along with the 49 day to maturity seeds last year. Missed the season as I had to travel for extended periods last year; tried to use them this year- 3/20 seeds germinated. Very poor quality. Do not buy
I have not received my rather substantial order of seeds from this company in over a month. I contacted them for the second time today and they were extremely rude and refused to issue me a refund, which was requested after it became clear that there was no guarantee that I would ever get my seeds. Their answers were nonsensical and inconsistent. It turns out, they are quite dishonest. This saddens me as this was part of a themed holiday gift for my husband for our new house.
Please don't ruin your gardening experience by buying seeds from this company who clearly does not care about its customers.
Order placed 1/24 - most items 4 of 7 were shipped (seeds). 3 plants remain MIA even though I have paid for them. Contacted Burbee 2 24 to get status- got a commitment to get an answer with 48 Hrs- it is 120 hrs later and no answer.
Bought burpee sweet pea old spice mix seeds for $2.79. Worked diligently to follow growing instructions. Started seeds early in ingested greenhouse, pinched plants at proper time. Planted outdoors on June 1. Plants grew nicely but blooms were all dark purple and only two flowers per stem. What a disappointment. All my work and patience for pathetic failure. I'll never trust burpee seeds again. Doubt if they care but wanted to warn other plant lovers.
First, they do not respond to customer complaints submitted on their website. The following is my experience:
1. Ordered seeds and also 6 plants. 2 plants arrived dead. Never sent one of the seed packets. Asked for refund in April-May. Never responded
2. Order small grow light. It had been opened before and was not able to assemble it. It cost more to send it back than they would refund.
3. Just planted gherkin cucumber seeds and only 50% germinated. Planted cucumber seeds from different company and 100% germination.
4. bought 16 cell self watering seed starting system and the growing pellets did not expand when water added per their directions.
All in all, I'm switching to Johnny Seeds-it's cheaper too...
I have had problems with Burpee shipping live plants as designated for my agricultural zone. Generally the plant arrive in ok condition. Recently, they have claimed a computer error put my shipment back a month and a half even though ship dates started March 27. After repeated calls, email and FB messages to the company to correct the error, they are now stating they have 14 business days to ship it, which will still put me outside of optimal planting time. They constantly avoid correction of their error and do nothing to expedite the product which I have paid for since February. The customer service is spotty and most seem to try to make excuses.
Answer: Impossible. They're not accepting calls or answering emails. I know these are hard times but...
Answer: I ordered my seeds over a month ago. Still have not received them. I've contacted them twice and they've been very rude and not helpful.
