My experience with Brightstar was unforgettable. I sent my phone in on December 22 for a repair. All components of my phone were functioning well except for the screen. I was charged $154 for the repair. Two weeks later, I am told that the phone cannot be repaired. Furthermore, customer service informs me that I am unable to receive a refund for my request nor my original phone returned. Their system alongside their customer service support is horrific. They don't tell you anything until after the fact when they've got your phone and your money. They make excuses and expect each and every one of their customers to go online and read their 27 page policy instead of actually being up front with their customers initially. I was baffled by the fact that they refuse to return my "unfixable" phone when I could have easily went to another repair facility who knows how to repair it. After the fact, they send me a "loan" device 17 days later. It's an absolute scam. All my photos, contacts, passwords, etc. that I had saved on my phone are gone forever miserably because Brightstar refuses to return my phone. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I do not advise anyone to send their phone to this junkyard. You are better off bringing your phone to a local repair shop. Disgusting.
It took this company 5 days to get my granddaughter's phone sent to us. The phone was garbage and would not work. It took another MONTH for them to finally replace the garbage phone.
I dropped my phone into the lake. I am still attempting to receive my phone. It's been 13 days and with the Holiday it looks like it will be a minimum of 5 more days. However, they Said it was approved so I could pay my deductible. Once they collected it, they again REFUSED to send my phone saying they need MORE information. They have asked for and received the same day several private pieces of information. Said it was for "my protection". I do t think so! They are trying to stall. And if my phone comes in garbage like my granddaughter's phone was, they will have the chance to meet me face to face!,'|
If I can rate ZERO, I would. They charged me 2 months for an account that was already closed. They give you the run around for refund until you give up asking for the money back. This is a million dollar company who can't be bothered to return $33 that is rightfully mine. I have called for a refund since August and I know I should have already given up because it's a small amount but it's the principle of protecting and standing up as a consumer. If your cell phone provider offers this company to cover cell phone damages - DO NOT ACCEPT! You're better off researching others.
After paying for phone insurance 4 months that may be pay a $50 deductible to have my phone replaced sent me one refurbished phone they had a line straight down the screen. Only to send me another phone that crashed after I updated it. So now I'm stuck with what I started with a phone that I can't use because it won't activate least with the other one and I couldn't see the screen but it would at least activate. So if anyone out there is thinking about using these people I advise them strongly not to. Because they still refuse to replace this phone and crashed tell me I got to still have phone insurance and I can't make both two claims but yet it would still be following under the same claim because it's a broke $#*! phone that they sent me. So I see why they only have one star rating cuz if I could I wouldn't get I wouldn't rate them at all give them zero Stars cuz that's what they deserve. Bunch of f****** crooks.
I had to get a replacement phone because my original phone was broken. I carry insurance thru brightstar. I had to pay 50.00 for replacement. When I got it, there was no SIM card. I had to go spend another 15.00 for one. A month later, I find out Brightstar deducted 82.69 from my bank account because they said they didnt receive phone. I spoke to a lady Angelica who said they did receive it and it would refunded the 82.69 within ten days. That money was never refunded and now they say they did not receive phone back. They said Id have to go to start an investigation thru USPS. I mailed back the old phone per their instruction and that should have been that.
It is a company of crooks, of thieves, the glass of my phone is broken he told me to pay $ 120 plus tax and the total is $ 135 to fix my phone on my side I inquired for the repair he told me said I should pays $ 80. It's a click of mafias, bunch of crooks
My strong advice is that stay miles away from this company. Most unsupportive staff, always technical issues with their system (that's what they say every time you call), no immediate support from the corporate team but only fake promises that the issue will be resolved in 24 hours but takes days if not weeks. It's shame that some of the reputed telecommunication companies use this garbage company for their customer's protection.
Stay Away from Brightstar/Likewise
I filed a claim with them and they told me they couldn't give me the same phone (Galaxy s20 Fe) so gave me an in-store voucher to use instead, Well, All the stores are out of stock for the phones within the price range. So i'd have to use the voucher on a hundred dollar phone when my phone is worth 600! So I decided to get my phone repaired instead. THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU THE DEDUCTIBLE YOU PAY. I spoke to a manger and she said no she will not refund me. I spend 188.13, just WASTED MONEY. DO NOT GO HERE! They are absolute criminals. Worst type of company, I hope they get shut down. I already reported them to the BBB.
This company is all the bad that people have been saying. Been trying to get my money back for months. Called 15 times, every time I told my situation and was told they were going to speak with a supervisor. I either ended up staying in hold for 30 mins or spoke to someone and was told they would start an escalation and I would have to call back in 5-10 days. Called back and the same story. Finally today I spoke to a "supervisor" and was told it was my fault that I was being charged monthly for three phones because I wasn't informed when I upgraded my phone that Brightstar didn't cover Virgin customers.
Which is funny because PC Mobile is a branch of Virgin.
I work for Boost Mobile and I never ask anybody to get the insurance thru these criminals. If you have an iPhone you'd be smart to put an Apple Care plan on it instead. They have taken multiple weeks to send phones that are suppose to be overnight delivered to your door. They ask for utility bills and insurance proofs they have no business asking for, to validate your claim after taking your money for years without incident. They will send you a phone that is not anywhere near same kind and quality. This is exactly the type of place you hear nightmare insurance stories about.
Worst phone insurance company ever! I've been battling with them for over 3 months just to get a new phone. Made a claim back in the beginning of September they asked for documents took a month just for them to send a new phone got my replacement in October 7th. And when they sent the replacement device it was damaged had a green line going through the screen. I called them right away they said they made a new claim and I had to upload documents again even after uploading documents again they said my claim was denied. I've been having to call them every 2 days 5 times a day just to get an answer from someone. At the end I explained my situation again they had said they would make an escalation for the documents I sent. I then called back 2 days later and got no answer claim still showed as denied so I decided to cancel the claim and switch phone carriers completely because it was taking way too long without a phone. I asked about a refund and was informed that if I send back the damaged replacement phone I would be eligible for a refund. I sent the phone back on October 19 and called today on October 22 to let them know that the phone will be there on Saturday the supervisor then basically said he doesn't know what I am talking about and that I can't get a refund I would have to talk to security and that they would call back in 2-3 business days mind you I had already sent the phone back. I even have screenshots of the messages I have with the likewize employee on live chat! Never use this phone insurance company it is the worst!

Beginning of September 2021, I broke my phone and was looking to replace it with Brightstar.
First call, they say my account was deactivated because I missed a few payments...
Then they realize that all my payment were done, but my account was still deactivated.
Then they told me to reactivate my Protection Plan for a mere sum of $115...
But when I went to the kiosk where I purchased the phone and the plan, the lady said: "I don't understand why you have to pay to reactivate your protection plan, when you have a MONTH to reactivate at NO COST...
(Are you starting to understand what's actually going on?)
Since the early beginning of September, I am told to call back 2 days later each and every single time I call them...
So that's what I did... I waited two days, sometimes three... after waiting, I call them back to hear that I have to waiting another 2 days, and another 2 days and another 2 days...
Since September 7th all the way to TODAY (OCTOBER 8th)
I have been recording the conversations I have with Brightstar and I let them know that I MUST record to ENSURE my security.
If it was possible, I would NOT give a single Star and In fact I would remove a few stars from other reviewers.
I even told one of their rep that there is not a single AMAZING review about Brightstar... He then said, "But Mister you know, most of the people renting online are not complaining for the right reason sometimes..."
The guys knew my unfair situation, so I told him:
"Oh Okay, so if I were to write a review of what's actually going on,
Are you also going to say that i'm one of the people complaining for no reasons? "
He just didn't know how to answer that...
I'm currently on the phone with Bright Star as I'm writing this "rent"
Been on the line for 1h36 minutes, nothing as changed yet...

I ordered a phone from boostmobile.com and the phone was defective. Boost refused to exchange the phone for one that works and told me to use Brightstar instead. I sent the phone to Brightstar now Likewize, and they have had my phone for over 3 weeks. No one associated with their customer service seems to know what is going on and it is truly pathetic customer service. Yet, I the customer am the one reaping the consequences of not having a cellular phone. Not to even mention, I am still paying a phone bill for over a month for a phone that I do not currently have due to Boostmobile horrible service and policies.
September 20,2021My purse with my phone in it was stolen. Had it 20 days. My very First Iphone. Iphone 12 Pro. Phoned Brightstar to get a replacement. Was told I could go to a retailer. Wrong.
Called back I had to pay a deductible of $428. Paid September 22.
Was told 3-5 days to ship.
Follow up "Its Back Ordered ". This is the response still today October 4,2021. *******955 someone answer's quick enough to only put you on hold and then it is Long waiting.
Only to still be told it is on "Back Order"

Wow where to start, there's no enough room on this page to write a full review, if you like being lied to over and over and then have your device shipped to someone else brightstar is for you. They blame ups for not delivering my device to the wrong address amd then tell me I have to launch am investigation with ups. One would think that considering brightstar hired ups that brightstar could initiate an investigation but no broghtstar takes no accountability for anything they lied to be numerous times and then said "it's your problem" these guys are idiots... it's been 4 months amd I still don't have my device..
My phone broke. I payed a 50 deductible for a bad replacement that is no longer compatible with boost mobile. Boost mobile didn't help nor cared and the insurance yup brighstart didn't want to exchange the phone. So I was left paying for a phone line and no phone. I ask for a manager to find a solution which is there job and yup they did nothing for me. So I took all my 3 phone lines to another provider that thanks God has nothing to do with brightstars... thank you for nothing and stealing my 50$ you'll suck big time together with Boost mobile!
Paid 175 for a new phone and was told it will be here in 24hours. Now I'm being told it's on backordered. No one will accommodate me. I ask could I get a letter stating it's on back order since I use my phone for scanning at work. I have loss out on 3 days of pay because of it. This insurance is some b. S

Customer service is the worst I ever encountered, charging top dollar to warranty a phone after paying for device protection
