I was on Brain Q. The different brain excercise games were complicated without excellent directions. Their are so many brain game companies like cognifit that I am that are giving me more benefits with organizing and concentration. Brain Q have great marketing to bring people in, and they charge a lot of their program. They don't care to help their clients, I would go to another program. I bought Brain Q on my credit card and have not used them for two years.

BrainHQ
August 27, 2020

I have a mild cognitive disability that impacts my working memory...
Our Doctor and Team specializes in Brain identifying whether it is related to Alzheimer disease and/or other maladies of my brain.

My Doctor suggested trying "Posit Science". After about 6-8 weeks Of working with the people behind the science based APP I decided to invest in BrainHQ for 1 year. Like anything new, I realized the real value of commitment when I noticed that my real brain life was capturing better/faster reactions when driving. My confidence increased! Yes I still muggle up words. My decision making processes is better than a year ago. My memory is getting better as I concentrated on realistic goals.
I am confident that I can complete household tasks such like cooking, BBQ, remembering what kind of wine pairings, remembering friends names are easier to remember them. Putting my tools back where they belong?, I am working on that. Driving to the cottage Yahoo.

This app has very limited free content, so if you have no intention of paying for this kind of service, then keep on searching.

The app appears at first glance to have something to offer. It very well could have but I has put off by the way the app presented ifself as a free app, but was not.

To sum it up: If you're not ready to pay 13.99 - 89.99 dollars for seeing what the app has to offer, then dont waste your time, like I wasted mine.

Great program!
October 21, 2022

I love this program! It is very challenging, but if one enters into each day focused and with a determination to advance, it is very doable and progress is measurable. My only objection is the "In the Know" exercise, which is gossipy and woke, neither of which I need polluting my mind. I wish I could eliminate it from the menu, but instead I just skip it.

BrainHQ is a new online brain-exercise site run by Posit Science, Inc. The site is similar to Lumosity. It is a paid-membership site, so you have to pay an annual or monthly fee. Basically, you are paying for a site that continues to update with exercises designed to challenge your congitive skills. Like going for a run, brain fitness exercises increase the levels of neurotrophins in your body, which are proteins that help with neuronal development. The theory is that by introducing your brain to diverse stimuli, it keeps neuronal development going. Enthusiasts of brain-training sites like BrainHQ say it helps improve memory, attention, concentration, executive functions, decision-making, and mental flexibility. I have found the exercises fun, challenging, and the site definitely gets harder as I get better.

Not very good
September 30, 2020

I used this app for about two months. Was not happy at all. Sent the developers an email and told them so. Be sure you cancel this APP asap or they will automatically charge your credit card whether you use the app or not. I got stuck paying for another year when I hadn't used the app for 10 months. Cheaters is all I can say about this company.

I so much wanted to like this. Attempted daily game in Memory, enjoyed the first two days. After that, as hard as I tried. I could not continue, the third game, I misunderstood directions and the fourth, I just couldn't grasp directions, exited the game & feel like a failure. Not the games fault
I obviously need help in this area:-)

Easy to use, sometimes even fun ;). The science is rock solid. Makes me better each day! It can be hard/challenging, but thats what working out is supposed to do.

There are so many brain game firms. Even enjoyable sometimes. In this site, free content is very limited.

I got to access this for free via a senior driving program from AAA. At first I was having fun, but soon it got boring. Very boring. VERY B O O O O O O O O O RRRRRRRRRR I I I I I I NNNNNNNNN G G G G G.

Either you track tomatoes floating around in the air, or you try to remember the locations of two things flashed randomly here or there for a microsecond or two.

That's it. Over and over and over again. Did I say this was boring?

Somehow along the way, you get stars. Stars! I love stars, don't you?! If you finish a set of trials, you move to the next level once you get 10 stars! If you attain those 10 stars in the middle of a set, do you need to bother trying for more stars? I have no idea! They don't say! Ever! Do your extra stars carry over onto the next level? Who knows! Maybe even the programmers who designed this drivel don't even know themselves... they certainly don't explain it to anyone.

This is supposed to make me a better senior driver? The whole thing is so boring, the criteria for advancing to the next level so fuzzy, that I think the company is taking AAA for a ride. I just read that their contract was cancelled at the end of 2020, and so I have until March 31 or maybe May 15 or whenever to "finish" my training. NOT A WORD about how much I still have to do. NOT A WORD about whether I slip back in levels if I don't practice every day. I did a rough calculation, and discovered that in order to get my 4% insurance discount, I'd have to "work" for so many hours that it's the equivalent of paying me less than $1 an hour.

My advice? Certainly don't spend your OWN money on this nonsense. Complain to AAA that you can save more money than you would save with your 4% discount by finding a part-time job that pays more than $2 an hour instead of wasting time on this. This program to improve senior drivers' skills has zero hours of education about new traffic laws, zero hours of anything simulating real driving, zero hours of feedback about how to improve your driving... zero plus zero plus zero equals... zero.

Oh, and it's extremely boring. Also repetitive. You do the same things over and over again. Did I mention that?
