I unfortunately, naively, clicked submit to this "mystery hotel" in NYC. It was $999 down to $217. I was like OMG! That must be a really great room.
It turned out that it's a room that others sell about $270.
I felt I fell into false advertisement. So I called the customer service, (since it was non-refundable even after 1 minute of booking), she yelled at me to show her the proof that the room was not $999. She didn't care about how I felt. She said it is still cheaper that other sites so what is my problem? I realize that I was just naive to think what I thought so I am not complaining about the hotel/room. But the customer service was just ridiculous. The way she was arguing with me was just... I have no word for it.
I called the customer support before that to ask what "taxes and fees" charge really include. Like the city tax? Resort tax? Any other taxes and fees? She said she doesn't know. She doesn't know about a policy where she works.
I should have thought better then.
There are some better deals at bookit.com than expedia for example but from now on I am definitely not going to deal with bookit.com.
I would not allow my dog to stay here.
Very poor customer service checking in amd checking out.
They don't care about their guest.
The hotel was close to walking distance to everything.
But the hotel needs to hire all new staff including Housekeeping.
When you check in a room check all apects of the room. I smelled a funny smell and opened the nitestand drawer and some one vomitted in the drawer, which means the room was not cleaned proper.
I called down and was very upset, the manager offered first food and drinks at the Restaurant /bar downstairs.
Then told me he would upgrade me and still pushed free drinks and food, which i was not having.
I stayed for the weekend and believe i should be compt a nite for this horrible experience with this hotel.
Went to check out and there notes stating that i wasbein compt a nite but my funds are still being withheld on my card and won't be available for 5 to 7 business days.
And the raised the rates the second nite of stay.
I will never stay at Club Quarters Chicago again and will contact corporate
I was called hours before I was to get on my flight, informed that my reservation would need to be switched as the Riu was not honoring reservations (spoke with Riu and they indicated this was not the case). Apparently bookit.com knew about this "issue" for days but waited until the last minute to contact me. I indicated I was going to that specific resort for a wedding and could not be switched to another resort. After waiting hours for a returned phone call, I called them, waited on hold for 40+ minutes and the representative phoned Riu (as did I) and informed me I was good to travel and there would be no issues with my reservation. I arrived and they had called and cancelled it on me. I had to pay thousands of dollars unexpectedly out of pocket, and received no communication from Bookit.com regarding. I contacted them upon my return, waited another 40+ minutes on the phone and had to explain why I was calling for a refund. They disputed the amount, gave me three conflicting reasons as to why and then finally offered to "waive a fee" to send me a breakdown of what they were seeing on their end, as apparently it was different than what I had confirmed in writing. They were unprofessional to deal with, and did not care how much they disrupted my vacation. I have written to their executive for a resolution.
Please do not use these guys to book your vacation. They basically stole money off me. I had booked a hotel in Mexico with them, and had received a email stating the dates and times of the booking, plus the price I had paid. I then noticed that another site had the same hotel at a $200 discount to what I had just paid. I recontacted Booking.com to see if there was anything they could do. I was told that they would not match the price exactly but would give me a special members discount of $160, which would be credited back. I felt this was a good solution. I then received an email saying my reservation was cancelled. I phoned back again to query this, and was told that a new reservation was coming my way. The only problem was that I had booked for January, and the new dates were in July. I told them this was wrong, and they explained the only way I could get back my $160 that was promised was to travel in July. No matter how many times I tried to explain that we had no intention of traveling in July, they refused to believe that the discount was for my original January booking. They then wanted $350 more to re-book me onto my original date. When I refused to pay, they cancelled my reservation, and charged me another $50 cancellation fee, even though I had never cancelled the original reservation. Over the course of the next day I was hung up on, placed on hold for 45 minutes, and laughed at. No help at all. Now I do not have a reservation and am out $50 US.
On top off that they still have not refunded any money at all to my credit card. I now have had to involve the bank.
Worst travel experience I have ever had. I also tried leaving messages with executives of the company, but of course no one ever phoned back. Beware
When we asked to speak to a manager, this is what we were told.
Long story short, we booked a honeymoon vacation, a rental car, and airline flights through this website. Over the course of the past five months we learned that there had been a mistake in booking all of these. We had to pay out of pocket to fix the airline mistakes. The company refused to refund the mistake made in booking the rental car. And then honeymoon vacation was a bust.
Just today, we spoke with a representative regarding why the honeymoon vacation was a bust. The quote above comes directly from that conversation. Through a miscommunication with the hotel and the "company", my fiancee and I will not be experiencing the honeymoon package that we paid for. The manager we spoke to chocked it up to a "mistake in advertising." Oh well, that is all good and fine. The company owned up to their mistake and will be fixing in accordingly, right? Wrong! Through a dance of legally correct jargon, the manager informed me that they would be doing nothing to fix the "mistake" made.
Will they be refunding us the extra money we dished out for the package? No.
Will they be working with the hotel to ensure that we get the package we paid for? No.
Will there be any concessions whatsoever for the mistake made? No.
We were literally told by the representative we spoke to before that the manager that we "need to live with it."
That's what you get with BookIt, just "live with it".
I booked a hotel through bookit and after my purchase was completed I stumbled upon a bunch of negative reviews which severely concerned me. My stay was only a month away so I let it go and crossed my fingers for the best once I arrived at the hotel. Bookit sent them all the information they needed and it was smooth sailing my entire stay. Not only did I get a great deal, but there were no issues. I'll definitely book through them again.
I really like bookit, they give you some good perks depending on the hotel you choose to book. I recently booked a stay in Orlando and got a flight credit, how awesome is that? My family and I love bookit!
One of several good places to book your vacation! Great, easy and fast way to book your vacation but shop around sometimes are a bit pricey and sometimes there not
The customer service (Ingrid) was horrible and very disrespectful!
This is my second time calling Bookit.com because of their prices are reasonable. Well this is my second time having a problem with them. On 6-16-2016, I called to make reservations. I spoke with a lady named Ingrid *******879 (X9402) and she was VERY nasty and hateful to me. She act like she did not want to be at work. I told her that I didn't get an email with the reservations and she stated "I DID SEND YOU THE INFORMATION"! So I let that go. So she asked me "SO ARE YOU GOING TO BOOK!" And my response was No. Well Ms. Ingrid (the customer service rep) hung up on me without saying "Well I'm sorry is there anything else I could do?"... I thought that she was not showing good customer service. I called many times after that asking to speak to their supervisor... Well I was transferred 4 times and on hold for 30 minutes to an hour waiting each time! Then when I got so frustrated I ended up speaking with Amber who was nice but wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor. She stated that they do not send calls to the supervisor. She was talking to him/her back and forth while I was on the phone. I was OK with that and the supervisor told her to tell me that he/she apologized for whatever and he/she will look into it. I would love to know if something will be done with that representative. Most companies will let it go but I will not know the resolution of this problem. I am very upset and will NOT book anything with Bookit.com ever AGAIN!
I travel often, and bookit.com was BY FAR THE WORST experience I have ever had trying to book a trip. I typically book through some of the better-known travel sites, but bookit had a discount promotion going on for my trip type so I gave it a try. I was trying to book a flight plus hotel package trip for vacation, and when I submitted the payment and order, an error message came back saying that the flight was booked but there was an error with the hotel and that part was not booked. It provided a number to call. I called immediately.
The person I talked to on the phone said that it looks like neither the flight or hotel was booked somehow, even though I was looking at a message from bookit.com saying the flight was booked and there was an error with the hotel part of the booking. I went to go book it again on the website while on the phone and received another error, then I couldn't find the same flight online. The person on the phone said the flight was available, and she can book me on the same trip, but the pricing she was receiving was about $90 more than the same exact trip I submitted payment for a few minutes prior when it allegedly partially booked and then didn't. I was annoyed, but wanted the experience to be over with so I told her to book it. I wish it ended there but it didn't.
She quoted me the new total (around $2800), and asked permission to charge. Then, when she submitted, she said that she got a different error. Somehow the flight was booked but not the hotel on this new reservation. When she went to go process the hotel reservation again, she said that the cost was actually going to be more expensive, AGAIN, than the amount she just quoted me when asking permission to charge me for the trip. The person on the phone said that there was nothing she could do about it and that it is what it is. I was trying to book specific flight and hotel because I am flying out with another person that booked separately, so I just paid it. The trip that I originally booked through their website at about $2700 ended up costing me about $2900 instead. Thanks bookit.com. No one I know will ever use your site again.
