I ordered parts on sat and monday night someone went hog wild on my credit card charging over 4 grand worth of stuff. Fraud dept at wells fargo caught it. Was my info compromised by them i dont know but sure seems to be a place to start.
This site is a scam. They will only ship partial orders and will not provide a refund for the missing parts.
This Place should be shut down... waiting a month for a part. Called told it was delivered 2 weeks ago. Really? Then the wrong part, same order no was delivered the next day, called they said the parts were on backorder, said they would refund our money for parts we have not recieved... still waiting! Going to contact BBB..
I ordered a $300 prop and was told it would ship the next day. It never did. I had to call them and found out it was backordered for another week. After reading these reviews, I doubt it will be shipped by Wednesday. If only I had read these reviews before I ordered it. WORST SERVICE EVER! DO NOT BUY!
Cannot contact after you place an order on line. No eta on shipping. Try to call, on hold over 30 minutes several times and never able to speak to anyone. No response to email inquiry. Never again!
Ordered parts from Boats.Net.com. Worse place I ever dealt with. They took over a month to supposedly get my part then told me twice it had shipped and it hadnt. I cancelled the order and was assured they would refund the amount to my Pay Pal accoutn. Never did. Countless e mails in which they DELIBERATELY jerk you around asking all kinds of idiotic questions that you have already answered at least FIVE TIMES and copies of the Pay Pal statement sent to them. THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF REFUNDING YOUR MONEY. They are total crooks. Never again.
HORRIBLE! TERRIBLE! DECEITFUL! UTTERLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
Ordered almost $300 worth of parts... 14 days later and at least 5 calls/2 voicemails I've received only half of it. Heard numerous different stories of why it had not shipped yet and this last one was "Your backorders came in a few days ago but we just got a huge Evinrude order and we need to get to that first... It might ship in the next few days". I've asked for return calls with order status with 3 CSR's, all have taken my number, none have returned my calls. Zero professionalism with this company, managers don't care about you and neither does the customer service department.
I wish I had read all the reviews first. Slow shipping! They advertise having sooo many parts in stock what a joke. ALL six common parts were backordered, and I had to call and ask where my stuff was they never sent an email letting me know. They also charged me before they even had the parts in there warehouse I should have ordered off eBay all in stock and no shipping charges. NEVER again beware of boats.net
As the below comments metion... DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE people. Very disorganized. Hard to get intouch with. And they are SUUUPPPEEERRRR slow with shipping. I also was charged the day the order was processed, internet said shipped on the 9th, theye rude lady on the phone said the 10th and the even more rude Manager, Chris Powell, said it would be shipped on the 13th... and i have to refuse the order or drive to lake placid to get my money. He doesnt know me... that parts not here tomorrow as stated again today on the 13th- i will be in lake placid. I can not believe these people. The first lady hung up on my husband becaude she told him"you ordered a part that was out of stock" and he said it said you had 10 online- thats why i chose you! No answers or customer service- just pure rudeness. Hope this saves someone some aggrevation and $$."
This place is just terrible. I ordered some items that "were in stock" per the web site on 04/26/13. Several days laters I was told "items are in production". It is now 05/07/13 and I am being told "computers are down". This place is terrible. I should of stayed with wholesale marine. They might be a few more dollars but their service is 1st class. I guess I just paid my stupid tax.
Worst site ever, I ordered 3 parts and after two weeks of checking the tracking information on the site, 2 out of the 3 parts finally arrived. Of course that did me no good, so i emailed customer service - since you can't get a live person on the phone. And the response back was to check with all my neighbors to see if they got the part. REALLY - the reciept said the part was not shipped. After telling them it's not in the neighborhood and that the part was not shipped i finally got a response that they were going to ship it again, it's been another 2 weeks and no part, as others have said you can just tell that they have no intention of fixing the problem. Stay far away from these people, they take your money and that's it.
The absolute worst customer service of any business I have EVER dealt with. I will never use them again and hope you all stay away from them. Ordered 5 parts and was supposed to get them 4 days later on Friday. Never showed so I called them on that Monday and they tell me it will be Friday which put them a week late. Here it is Tuesday 2 weeks and a day later and still no parts in the mail. Pissed is the kindest word I can conj-our up right now. They suk
So the first order I placed they shorted me some stuff ( $160.00 order total) small parts for a Tohatsu I'm tuning up, took 2 weeks to get to me. 2nd order still waiting 2 weeks now ( I'm not really in a hurry) but if it were summer I would be mad. I call today to see about dropping the quantity from 2 to 1 on a $6 fitting, she tells me there will be a restocking fee ( hello the order has NOT shipped yet). I will NOT use them again I had ordered from eastmarine.us and got my stuff in 5 days last week. From now on, NO more Boats.net ( they did send me the shorted gasket from the 1st order at least).
It's taken a 20 days to get a friction nut for a 2006 Honda outboard, which is not a hard engine to get parts for. The fuel filter, which you can buy at west marine, hasn't even shipped.
They are cheap but, don't be in any hurry to get on the water.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!
These people have been the hardest customer service I have ever dealt with. They screwed up my order THREE TIMES. They are CLEARLY not capable of processing orders correclty. I wish I would have done my homework before ordering because I would have saw the TONS and TONS of BAD complaints from other customers.
STAY AWAY!
Ordered a water pump parts kit for my Evinrude boat motor. I was assured by there tech people it included the water pump housing. When it arrived the housing was not part of the repair kit. Calling them back, they told me I had to order it extra. I could have ordered the kit from ebay for much less money including the housing. They refused to do anything about it. Very poor customer service. Stay away from this site!
Just awful. Guy I talked to in customer service was a complete idiot, I'm surprised he even knew which end of the phone receiver to speak into.
Yes--they have low prices. But what they don't mention is that they carry virtually no stock--so anything you order will have to be special ordered from the suppliers. Is it really that hard to include information on their web catalog for which items are in stock? Seriously, it's like being transported back to 1999 web shopping.
Knowing this, I called ahead for my most recent order and asked their salesperson (i. E., village idiot referred to above) whether a couple items were in stock. He mumbled 'we could get them in 2-3 days'. Over the next 48 hrs, I received several notices informing me that the shipping date was pushed back progressively later and later. At that point, the items would no longer be of use for me, so I requested that one particular item be removed from my order. That's when they hit you with the 'restocking fee' (which is ~20% of the item cost!).
Never again. Seriously. Just don't do it.
At least their prices are low. I think they may have monkeys working there instead of people. They can't/won't do the simplest things unless you pester them. I'll buy elsewhere from now on.
Don't waste your time. Ordered a part, paid for overnight shipping and boats.net will not answer emails, can't find out anything. They update your "track order" once every 3 days so you stay in limbo not knowing diddly but they are very fast at withdrawing payment so they have your money but you don't have your part, information on your part, shipping details, tracking number or anything. Won't waste more time calling either as according to other reviews that is a scam as well and don't need the runaround or more frustration. So avoid this business. Better to pay someone a little more for far better service.
I found parts I needed urgently on Boats.net My local Evinrude dealer, who is very reliable, said he could have the same parts but only in 10 days. So I ordered them with Boats.net and paid extra for next day Fed Ex. Well then I waited and waited 7 days later after no parts and receiving over three auto generated emails a day from the boats.net web site telling me my parts are on their way. I emailed their customer service and got excuse after excuse. I emailed the manager and they just do not reply. Finally I get a email from Customer Service saying most of my parts are in and will be shipped that day. Three days later and I got nothing, so start the contact with customer service. More excuses they blame shipping, so in the end 14 days after the order and paying NEXT DAY shipping and I am still waiting for my next day parts and to top it off they only got some of the order so I still need to go to my dealer to get the other parts. I never read reviews of Boats.net I suggest anyone wanting to use them should read reviews every review or blog tells tales of horrible customer care just like my deal. DO NOT USE BOATS.NET
