The new site layout obscures what I am looking for. It appears to have been designed for people who are just beginners and don't really understand how things work. I spoke to a representative through a chat session to have it cancelled and was assured it was taken care of and would not be charged, but today I see $89.88 has been taken out of my account for SSL. I'm certainly not happy with Bluehost and am looking for other hosting providers.

Had over 30 sites hosted on GoDaddy platform. When a question or issue would arise I could get someone on the phone within 10 minutes to work out the problem. Great customer service. I had one site that due to WP needed to be hosted on Bluehost. The migration took 5 days, customer service is non-existent. You call to press various numbers, enter your phone number, customer ID number etc., to only then wait for 30-40 minutes before a person picks up to ask you the same questions. Then they can never find my account, have to give them my customer ID again and PIN several times before they find the account. This is 10 minutes or more in addition to the time on hold. They can't fix any issue. They always say their servers are updating or some other useless answer and to check again the next day. Connections with emails continually break between cPanel email host to customer end.
Took quite a while to get going with the chat but once started all went well
Called Bluehost today. 30 minutes on hold. Who has this time and patience? Forget it. Give my GoDaddy

I have made a number of calls and spent an hour + each time with an agent to "fix" the issues I'm getting emailed about, and at end of each of these calls, per agent, everything is fixed. Only to later get yet another email that there is something more to be fixed. I am not even yet actively using this for an active website yet, but am concerned, given how it's been going, that this is only going to be a headache if I choose to get a website going and then need help along the way.

We count on you guys to provide reliable up time. Getting security errors trying to access SEO optimization and couldn't log on for 30 minutes. Your shared hosting results in everybody on a box gets flagged for spam if one of the accounts spams.
Bluehost has grown so large by employing very low sign-up pricing with a huge increase in prices when it comes time to renew. At this point they have you and you are stuck with them, because it is quite difficult to change over to a new hosting company.

The same is true for Bluehost Live Chat, who will ask you, exactly what you just asked them over and over again as if you are a 5 year old child, until you become infuriated. Eventually you will be given a support ticket for escalated support
Escalated support can only be contacted via email and are not open on weekends. Response times are usually 2 to 3 days and are usually just a canned response. So, if it is urgent or mission critical Bluehost will not lift a finger to help you or take any notice of any damage they are doing to you. Bluehost does not care less about you or your business, only your credit card number
If there is anything unusual such as an invalid Auth Code or EPP code, login issue, emails not being received, incorrect charges etc. it will literally take you months to have this resolved, if at all, because escalated support will just say the same thing over and over again no matter how many times you explain it to them
If you complain about this they just close the ticket and you have to start all over again
Recommendation: Do not use Bluehost. You will be overcharged, receive very poor service, and be treated very poorly

Answer: NO - please do not go with Bluehost, it will save you a lot of hassle. They have the worst customer service and take your accounts offline just so you upgrade for more money even though the thresholds were not met. This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I've lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost. I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I've warned you. They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.
