My old Bluehost host was running out of disk, so I asked to upgrade. After several emails back & forth, one of their IT folks spent several hours on the phone with me, arriving at an appropriate hosting solution and enabling the transfer of my shell account and web site to the new VPS host, dealing with startup issues, making sure nothing (especially the constant stream of new emails) was lost, and helping configure the site.
I myself am a software professional with decades of experience, but am not a sysadmin. The explanations, planning, and execution, the support in general, were faultless, supportive, clear, and professional.

From the 11 pm first call (what and how do we do this?), next day 2nd call (here's how you do this for what you want), after holiday weekend 3rd call (check out your site!/make changes?) to minutes later 4th call (review changes and site done!), EVERYONE we spoke to was friendly, courteous, very knowledgeable, understood our needs, explained options, easy to understand, quick, and efficient! Copy writers & designers are the BEST at Bluehost!
The service has been reliable over the years. It is also reasonably priced, and the website editor is pretty easy to figure out. Technical support rep's have also been skilled at resolving any issues. I just wish there was a better discount for purchasing multiple years at a time.

The biggest issue I have currently is the login never logs in with my password. It tells me that I'm locked out. I know that I am using the correct password. I'm thinking there is maybe a brute force attack or someone trying to crack the password, but its very annoying.

Then he said he had, and that out website would be up in about half hour. 7 hours later... no. I also did the online chat, and was told some plugin was the problem. I'm having financial difficulties as a freelance designer, and every time I log in to my Bluehost account, I'm constantly being pushed to upgrade my plan. You are a business, so I understand about turning a profit, but I would put more value on serving the customers where they are rather than for extra profit. I have been online with chat for about 40 minutes with minimal help today about my subscription. Very slow service and not a lot of help. I asked how much my renewal would be and it took them this long to tell me.
The billing system is super annoying. "Renew" button did not work. No invoices were emailed. Notices that a payment did not go through do not provide any details, just a log in link - this is annoying when one has multiple accounts and services.
Change is good however if it effects in a negative way it's bad. It took me a long time to master the old platform, I'm not sure what else to say. I will be transferring all my domains to a new hosting platform.
The instructions for setting up existing domains are unclear and I am currently in a loop of attempting to add a domain and it constantly loops between two pages rather than going to the next step in the process (without an error message)
The last person I spoke to was incredibly unhelpful and could not provide me with any useful advice on how to migrate my website. He also got my website wrong the whole time and thought we were talking about a totally random website

Answer: NO - please do not go with Bluehost, it will save you a lot of hassle. They have the worst customer service and take your accounts offline just so you upgrade for more money even though the thresholds were not met. This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I've lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost. I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I've warned you. They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.
