I got a bike and a professional tried tuning up, but he could not because there is a faulty component. Customer support as usual sent the videos to fix it, which I tried and after spending 4 hours, I failed and complained. Customer support now ask to send it back if I like and I have to pay for the shipping fee. You might get lucky for me, its a pain. I have already spent money on the professional tuneup, and now I have to pay $100 for shipping it back... that's not called a good customer service.

BD gets a bad rep from others. But they are always quick to fix errors, and leave a great level of satisfaction.

I come from a road cyclng background- and a few years ago wanted to try MTB. But I could not justify spending $3k+ on a new bike from the big brands. BD helped give me a solid bike at a great price point that I used as stepping stone into the mtb world.

Now, my gf is interested in trail riding so I did the same for her. I always recommend BD to others!

I bought a paid alot of money for what I was told is a high performance bike. I spoke with a representative before my purchase to confirm what I was buying. Two weeks after purchasing my bike the crankset broke. I contacted bikes direct that day to report what had happened I have not received a message back. I have tried calling but I keep getting sent in circles to try and get this part replaced. It's been 3 weeks since I've tried to claim warranty on my purchase and it has not been resolved. The customer service is horrible. Go elsewhere.

I recently ordered a Motobecane Immortal Spirit after reading dozens of reviews about Bikesdirect.com. Like a lot of people, I was hesitant to buy a bike on line but I went ahead and took a chance. The bike arrived in four working days in perfect order. Even though I have some experience in bike mechanics, I took it to my LBS and had it assembled for $60.00.

Took the bike out last night for a 15 mile ride. My only complaint is that the seat is too hard and I am going to have to replace it. Otherwise, the DA components worked perfectly and the ride was great. I would not hesitate to buy another bike from them again.

I just got a new Hal 5 and it's been great. UPS smashed up the rear derailleur hanger, and Larry send me a new one and a surprise with the package 30 min after I explained the problem. These guys have top notch stuff and function with a very high level of customer service. I'm a customer for life!

I purchased a Gravity 29Point3 18 months ago. I am 230lbs so the bike supports quite the load, and last year, I rode every month (some were cold rides) and other than the chain break, which was replaced by Bikes Direct without issue, the bike has been great. Small adjustments here and there that come with using a bike but I love it. I have had at least 2 friends that have since purchase Bikes Direct bikes and I am eyeballing a full suspension upgrade. I just wanted to say thanks and I love my bike.

We have ordered 3 bikes from bikes direct. Each one has been amazing and you cannot beat the price! Shipping is very fast. Even better is the after purchase support. We had a small issue from shipping and Larry was able to correct the issue very fast. He responded to us same day and correct the issues before the end of the evening. Amazing!

I just bought my first bike from Bikes Direct and I'm happy with the product, shipping and service. I was mostly afraid that the bike would be damaged in shipping and I had no idea how the service would be. I ordered on a Monday morning and I got it Thursday morning (Florida to Illinois). The box was in mint condition. The bike was without blemish in the box and packed fairly well. On examination I believed I had a defective part on the bike and I emailed Bikes Direct about it. Turns out I was wrong and I figured that out before they got back to me. When I got an email back from Larry, he explained that this is how that particular part is, however, he had seen issues with this part recently so he sent out a replacement of a higher quality. I think this was a good move and showed he wanted to make sure I didn't have any trouble down the road.

I will be buying from Bikes Direct again based on my first dealing with them.

I ordered my bike July 3rd. Received a UPS label July 6th. It is now July 10th and no movement has been shown for shipping. I emailed the company two days ago... no response. I have called the company 6 times, with no answer. I finally left a voice mail... hoping to get a response soon! My friend ordered her bike from this company the day before me... and received it on Wednesday. We were hoping to go for a ride this weekend... apparently thats not going to happen. Very unsatisfied with the lack of customer service. No one should have this much trouble contacting a seller about a product they have already paid for, but not received!

I have ordered 3 bikes from them, 2 Road bikes and a MTB. I have had the MTB and one road bike for a few years with heavy use and they still hold up. Last road bike I got this spring. Came damaged. Emailed BD right away and the next day they had a return shipping label, and as soon as the shipper had the bike they sent out a new one. I lost only 1 week from this, and the communication was top notch all the way through. 20 miles on the new bike and love it! Would recommend BD to anyone and will use BD again.

I thought they were honest but I was wrong! I had a hard time choosing a bike and when I eventually did, they bundled a worn-out machine for me. Spokes were bad and bent with creaking sounds. Tube was punctured! Totally disappointed.

My husband ordered this bike. It arrived with some damages. He went back in forth between sending back or not. They were very patient with him and he ended up keeping it and they compensated him for the damages. Very helpful.

I ordered a Dawes Bullseye fat tire from bikesdirect after searching for a budget fat bike. Despite being such a large item, it showed up as promptly as it could. I'll say it was TOTALLY worth the wait! I've had a blast with the bike so far, especially when I remember how little I paid for it.
If you want to avoid the hassle of salesfolks trying to upsell you (I know I can't stand it.) and impairing prices, definitely consider giving bikesdirect a try.

Overall, a really good deal. Customer service was initially slow but responsive. The wheels came in missing parts. The box arrived open by UPS. Initially had trouble fitting the wheels because of missing parts. Once in touch with service adviser Larry the problem solving began. Larry stayed a bit late with me on a Friday. Found out I was missing spacers. These were sent the following Monday and arrived on Thursday. I needed to file the spacers down a bit but got them to fit. Wheels are well built and true.

Basically, need to be patient if there is a problem. The hours are limitted, but I felt Larry was helpful.

I was so hyped up when I found BD that I just couldn't wait for the bike to arrive. A few days later, my new motobecane arrived and I had it slapped together and road-worthy in under an hour!
Bikesdirect is awesome and you won't find a better bike for the money. It also helps me practice my mechanic skills at the same time.

I bought two bikes feel that I really got more than my money's worth.
They look awesome and the ride is killer!
I did have to settle on another color for my girlfriend's bike, as the first one had sold out shortly before I placed my order. Wasn't really a huge deal for us as we were in it for the value and bikesdirect hooked us up on the 2nd bike.

All-in-all happy with my purchase

I purchased two bikes from Bikesdirect.com. The first was a Motobecane road bike. I liked it because the components where better than anything I saw at a local bike store. To me the components are the most important. Frame weight, not so much for me. I am a big guy and losing weight would do more than loosing a couple ounces on a frame.

I also purchased a Motobecane 29er Mountain Bike.

I am more than pleased with both purchases.

I ordered a Fat Bike from bikesdirect. I was less than half the cost of an equal bike in a bike shop. It was shipped the day after I ordered it; arrived 3 days after that. Super quality, sweet ride, and looks fantastic. All my riding buddies think it is a great bike and deal.
