Quick service. Book in excellent condition as described, well packaged. Too often used book descriptions are inaccurate: "may have writing or underlining." Very good should mean no writing or underlining. This book met the description.
Some people don't understand that Biblio.com is a service that connects them to booksellers that have listed their books online with Biblio. Biblio is not selling the books, they are only the intermediary. I never had a problem with a bookseller (and there have been many) that Biblio.com hasn't resolved for me when direct communication with the seller has failed. Research the bookseller reputation before placing your order.
If you buy membership to reduce the cost of a purchase and they cancel the order, you won't get a refund on the membership. Just don't buy anything from Biblio at all. Because no one needs to feel so stressed! This is actually meant to be ZERO stars.
Hello Sae D. If you can write to support@biblio.com, it sounds like we can refund your Bibliophiles Club membership, unless you've used that discount on other orders! Just drop a line with your email and order number and we'll get it taken care of for you. Sorry for any difficulty or confusion. I hope we can get this resolved for you soon.
I study in an Ivy league grad program and found 3 books from Biblio at $1-$ + 3 to 4 bucks shipping.
I thought there was no way they would delivery but lo and behold 12 days later they all arrived!
I'm talking about hard bound cover books. 2 in good condition and 1 marked up but still usable.
I'm still shocked. I had super low expectations and i had little to lose paying $12 with paypal loaded cost for $100 worth of books and they all arrived.
Most likely the low score is because ppl don't rate good service.
Biblio, like ABE, etc is a venue for sellers to sell their books. What I love about it as a seller are it's fair commission rates, the ease of use, and the fact that it isn't owned by Amazon. I love ABE as well but they were bought by Amazon which I can tell you from selling at Amazon is like trying to survive a capricious God. Anyway, many of these reviews are unfair because customers might have encountered a lousy seller which sold them a lousy book. Same thing would hav happened had they bought from that same seller on ABE. Amazon is much worse because there are thousands of people who aren't booksellers and don't know how to describe a book unless it's new. I list on 5 services and this is by far my favorite. I don't sell as often but when I do it's generally my more expensive better books.
I received an email from Biblio that the book I ordered was not available and they were processing a refund. Because of this, I ordered the book from another seller whose price was twice that of the Biblio seller. I then unexpectedly received the book from the Biblio seller, leaving me with an unneeded and more expensive copy from the second seller. I contacted Biblio and they refused to make me whole by refunding me the additional costs associated with buying the second book. I wouldn't have bought the second copy if Biblio hadn't sent their email. They don't have a handle on where their books are and their inability to do so cost this customer.
I tried to order a title through Biblio twice over three days, from two different sellers--in both cases the order was cancelled apparently because the book was out of stock (though no actual reason for the cancellation was given in either case). I had to contact their Help page to find out what was going on, as in neither case did the order appear in my Order History (Help claimed this was because I placed the order as a guest, but this wasn't so--I was logged into my account both times); although both orders have been refunded, it just seems bizarre that two sellers would both be unable to supply a book that isn't hard to come by--not a rare volume. It almost appears as if Biblio is hosting sellers who are taking orders for titles they don't have in stock, not a good business practice. I'd have to think twice about attempting to order from them again, and I'm definitely glad I made my purchase via PayPal as opposed to directly through their site, as I suspect I might have had a much harder time obtaining refunds otherwise.
They said September 5th as the latest date it would arrive. It's the 23rd and I have emails and not a book.
No tracking number. Just money gone.
Book arrived promptly but dented/bent (poorly packaged in mylar envelope, no protection) AND not as advertized.
"Dust cover intact..." NO dustcover.
Rec'd good service on Biblio until recently when book ordered was not delivered after several weeks. The seller apparently refused to provide tracking info, never replying to me or Biblio. Biblio refunded the purchase... And after doing that good deed the seller is still on their platform selling the book I ordered.
I didn't get the impression the lapse mattered at all to Biblio. It was just nothing... they sent me a link to buy the book i'd originally ordered that directed me to the same seller and the HIGHER priced book. So, do poor performers ever get sanctioned, or do they just keep selling books as if nothing happened? I could've reliably gotten the book in the first place from stinky Amazon... If there's a lesson here it may be that all independents aren't good or worth the trouble of supporting.
I expedited my book and it still came after the time. It put me behind on school work. I am very disappointed at this as I paid extra to make sure it would arrive in time.
Do not use this site if you don't have to.
Their sellers lie about book conditions. One of their sellers sent me a bogus tracking number and never sent the book. Waited over a month and finally had to threaten to dispute directly through Paypal to get a refund. They use a third party review system that automatically filters out the negative feedback and reviews posted. They even block facebook reviews. Don't trust them.
I ordered a book for my mother for mothers day with expedited shipping. Not only have I not received any information, or the book, but when I went to contact the seller, I was told my email was blocked. Great job Biblio! As I have not ordered with this site before, I have no idea how to be refunded, and I ordered as a guest. If my order ever does turn up, or if Biblio reached out to refund me, I'll make sure to change my review.
Hi Crystal, so sorry for the delay here. If you haven't already, please reach out to us at support@biblio.com, or call us at 1-800-813-9432. You can ask for me by name, Ashleigh, or dial my extension, #144. We'll get this handled ASAP.
Ordered a book for a gift. Received notice that my order was cancelled because they couldn't get a response from the book seller. This left me very little time to make other arrangements. After additional searches and two additional rare book websites, I still have no idea if I will receive the book I want. At best, this site and others like it, have a huge problem with advertising items that can actually be delivered. At worst, they are scams. Unless you have months to deal with these sites, don't waste your time.
I ordered a book from an author on the day he died. The website and the bookseller did not fulfill my order and took 5 days to notify me. Now a book which had multiple copies for under $30 on the Internet is more than $150. It feels more that coincidental to me.
Right before Christmas, when time is short, it took four days for some one to notice that the book I had ordered was not in stock, even though it was listed on Biblio. This has created a problem for me, and I find it to be unacceptable that the item was even listed in this day and age of automated inventory control.
GREAT VALUE, PERFECT REFERENCE BOOK, UNBEATABLE PRICE, FAST SHIPPING.
Probably the finest experience. My first purchase and I bought the same book as a gift from another Biblio
In another state. SO two flawledd transactions from Biblio... I give you a score of 11 out of 10.LOL Thank You
Hi EdK K!
Thanks so much for your review, and we're psyched to see that you've had such great experiences with BIBLIO!
I ordered 3 books and only one arrived, the rest two should be there since 3 weeks but there was no refund, they steal my money and the costumer service is poor,,
I will definitely file a complaint on this site
One of the worst customer experiences I have ever dealt with!
When I didn't get my order, after some back-and-forth with the postal service, I was told that my package was lost, but there was insurance the retailer could claim, so I should contact them. However, when I was trying to get some support from the Biblio, they were just sending me the same message that I should contact the postal service, and that the package must have been delivered over and over again. I was trying to call them hundreds of times and only managed to get through once. I was told that they'd give me a refund, but nothing happened.
I don't recommend buying anything from here!
Absolutely disgusted with the treatment and service I received by this company. I made an order before Christmas for a present and the company have not engaged in conversation with me regarding a refund and have refused to respond to the 8 or 9 emails I have sent them over the last month requesting the refund in question. I paid for the item and special delivery. This company takes your money and does not provide any goods or service. Daylight robbery!
