Once again, as in so many earlier purchases, Biblio had a lower-cost, fair-priced book, with a spot-on description of its condition. Great service, tracking, and delivery! Thanks, always a first choice in used book buying.
I was able to purchase a copy of saga hardcover for cheap considering it's out of print. It was about half of compared to ebay. Good purchase and got it quickly.
Thanks for the review, Carlos! I'm glad you had such a good experience!
The book I received was of better quality than listed. This was a welcome surprise as the book purchased was in mint condition!
Thanks for your review, Quency, and I'm very glad your book arrived in such great condition!
I purchased a quantity of College textbooks St the Biblio.com website. The books received were in superb condition, and the original "cd" for the books were in most of the books purchased. I was not expecting this, as usually the Student Chapter "cd" for used books are not with the book! Kudos to Biblio for exceeding my expectations for "used" books in quality, quantity, and price!
Biblio is nice for the most part, but they house way too many Indian fraudsters. I think I've had three separate instances where a seller turned out to be located in India (even though it says they're located in the US), and I ended up receiving a makeshift copy of the book. The kicker is that they don't offer refunds on the shipping cost, which ends up being exorbitant. Their customer service is atrocious.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your feedback, and I'd like to do all I can to resolve this. Can you provide your most recent order number where this was an issue?
We have a strict policy against counterfeit items on BIBLIO, and if we believe a seller has a problem with their inventory, we work with them to fix it, and if they are unable to fix the issue, we remove their books from the site.
I'll be happy to dig into this further when I get your order number.
Thanks so much,
Ashleigh
I love books. I love used books the most; tangible, previously-loved vessels of thoroughly enjoyable entertainment and for whichever location you choose...
Biblio present as nicely customer-focussed through speedy and friendly service. They also boast reliable and sustainable delivery. 5 stars no less. Thanks for a great first experience! Means everything when it comes to accessing my books!
Biblio does a great job of platforming individual small business owners who wish to sell quality used and rare materials to a wide audience. In my opinion it stands head and shoulders above AbeBooks and Amazon (which now owns Abe.) while it seems some users on SiteJabber have had bad experiences, they should blame the independent booksellers they bought from, rather than Biblio.com.
I received DSM 5TR from these guys and I have had it for 4 months and all the pages are becoming loose and starting to fall out.
I know of DSM's that have been clinical officers for years being used by entire teams and not be like this.
I asked for replacement or refund and denied. Though it's clearly not made for purpose.
Very disappointed
Hi Jackie,
I'm sorry to hear of your experience, and I'd like to dig into it a bit more. Please confirm your order number so I can investigate, and I'll be sure to get back to you ASAP.
Thanks,
Ashleigh
We regularly use Biblio.com and appreciate the personal service. The book which we purchased on this occasion was well described and arrived on time in good packaging.
We would recommend their services.
I ordered a book from Biblio onAugust 17. I received a confirmation email acknowledging my order and setting expectations I would receive the book between August 24 - August 31. Here it is now, November 6, and the book has still not arrived, nor do I have any reason to expect it ever will. I have reach out to them via email and received no response. Have NOTHING to do with them.
Hi Joan,
I'm so sorry for the delayed response here.
Please confirm your order number and I'll be sure to investigate thoroughly.
Thanks,
Ashleigh Redmond
I have been a customer of Biblio for several years now, I have always had excellent customer service from the shops from which I have purchased my books. The condition of the books has always been spot on can't fault that. The only thing that I might say is to look at where the bookseller resides, the first book I bought was from Oregon and it took me several minutes to understand how it was shipped so soon, I had ordered it on line at about 22.30 on a Saturday, so when I received confirmation on Sunday morning that it had been shipped I was thinking that the bookseller was working late into the night before it dawned on me that there was a little time difference between London and the Pacific coast!
No photograph, sorry, I buy books to read not photograph.
Hi Stephen!
Thanks so much for your review, and I'm so happy to hear that you've had such great experiences with BIBLIO! Please let us know if there are ways we can improve, or just let us know when you're searching for your next great book!
Ordered a textbook without any apparent problem, and received a confirmation that all looked legit.
Book didn't arrive on time. Contacted seller and was told that it had shipped, but it takes some time to arrive. Note that I had paid for expedited shipping.
I asked for the USPS tracking number. None was provided.
The phone number for customer service went unanswered, despite numerous calls.
The emails I received in reply all pointed to the same (apparently unoccupied) phone number.
The emails were all strangely signed with different names, like "Chris R.", "Robert M.", "Susan B." - all first name and last initial, even when they were giving a reply to a mail that was on a thread. Made me think that the responses were auto-generated.
Ultimately I asked for a refund, which was processed.
What a hassle.
I placed an order 2 months ago, still haven't received it and to contact the company to inquire about information is like pulling hens teeth. Don't waste your time or your money.
Hi Collin,
I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. Can you please confirm your order number so I can investigate this?
Thanks,
Ashleigh
Crap service, crap site, ordered a book off their site and a week later I get your orders been refunded because the books no longer available what a crock I'll never buy from them again should have known the 2 star rating they have speaks for itself don't waste your time or money
Notorious for false advertising though confusing wording and placement of sales information. Many books are at least 4 times expensive as Amazon.com. Biblio.com will place verbiage on the site indicating that you are buying a bulk package of books, but in reality you are only paying for one at 4 times the price. Be wary, their support staff is a little sarcastic and will not treat you with much respect if you wish to make a return.
I ordered 'Cosmos: a sketch of a physical description of the universe'' from Alexander von Humboldt via biblio books. I did not want any new edited ones, I wanted a new reprint of the original 1866 version. I was not sure because I had never heard of biblio books, and in general I never quickly fully trust anything online, but did it anyway as the book was not expensive and I did some limited research on biblio books. My book arrived in Berlin (where I lived at the time) and I just love it so much. It even has a small yellow textile string to mark which page you are. Very happy with the purchase, cheap and exactly what I wanted.
Ordered a textbook on September 9 and it was to be delivered by September 23. They said it was lost (no tracking) and they would send out in 2 days. It's been 4 days with no book. I have called all morning... been disconnected 5 times. Natalia called me back and again we were disconnected. Then Amy! Again disconnected. I even emailed the CEO. I just wanted the book and to please communicate. Now, they have refunded the money and I have wasted 2 weeks waiting for this book. Absolute worst customer service ever! And they want me to call if I get the book so they can charge me! I am charging them for my time! JOKE OF A COMPANY!
I ordered a book with express shipping (3-5 days) and it has been 2 weeks and no book. I contacted their customer service multiple times and have gotten nothing but generic "sorry" emails. The tracking number says it has never even left its first location. They have offered me no help at all and I would never suggest this site to anyone.
Recently ordered a title for them, had my card billed for the amount, and then never received a confirmation email; when I went to my order history on their site, no trace of the order existed. Fortunately I had paid through PayPal which refunded my money, as otherwise there would have been no way of getting a refund for an order that seemingly never existed--except for Biblio to scalp money off of my card for it.
Not the first time I've had a poor experience with them, but it will certainly be the last.
Hello Muriel - can you please write to support@biblio.com with your order number or email address used to place the order? We always send a confirmation email when an order is successfully placed, and if you ordered as a guest, you wouldn't be able to find an order in your history. I'm glad you were able to get your money back through PayPal but we'd love to sort out what happened with your order.
Non existent customer service, bait and switch pricing, rude, and not worth the hassle. They more than doubled the shipping cost a day AFTER I paid for the book. I asked why, and instead of answering that simple question they outright cancelled my order.
It took almost a month before I could get tracking information. When I messaged Biblio about the delay in shipping, I received an email response that had strange sentence structure (period and half words in the middle of a sentence) and was difficult to understand. UPS reported the package was delivered, but it was not. I set up a claim with UPS and they settled it as delivered, so now I am out $35+ with nothing but frustration to show for it.
