I've bought books from BWB many times. Their range of stock is amazing. Pricing excellent and international shipping is free! The books have always arrived in good order. On one occasion time passed and the book (an obscure scientific journal in which I had a paper) had not arrived. I queried BWB and since more than 60 dsys had passed, without my asking, assumed the order was lost and refunded my credit card. Needless to say the book arrived several days later. Now that is service. For me BWB is my first choice for books.
Purchased a book during COVID (from BetterWorldBooks UK) and still have not received it at an overseas location 4 months later. No tracking information was provided so there is not evidence the book was sent. Better World Books have washed their hands of the matter and said they don't offer refunds if you contact them after 60 days of not receiving a book. Have just lost $50. Buy at own risk. Don't do it! There are lots of reputable sellers out there and this is not one of them!
This was my first purchase from BetterWorldBooks, and I can only say that I was delighted. I ordered what I thought would probably be two scruffy paperbacks, and received two softcovers in excellent condition. I have since put in two further (separate) orders and await the result with anticipation. I happened on this site quite by chance, but it looks likely to become my go-to place for older books and if the standard remains this high I expect to be buying here for a very long time to come. I would have added a photo but I don't have that capacity.
A great concept - buy pre-loved books and support good causes. Found several books here I'd not been able to find outside Amazon. All seven were delivered in good time (in two bundles) and in good condition - the only thing I would have liked would have been updates between shipping and receipt. My thanks to my colleague for the recommendation!
If possible, I buy all my books from Better World Books, and I purchase a lot of books! You can't beat the price, both of books and shipping (free!), plus you are supporting literacy programs. If there are problems with shipping or the condition of a book that is received, I have always received prompt service. I have now donated over 250 books to literacy programs through my purchases! My passion is wildlife and natural history and thanks to BWB's great prices, I've created a wonderful personal reference library. Also, I live in Colorado, in an area with abundant wildlife, and am on a local committee that works to educate our community on its importance. We just purchased 100 books from BWB to made a small lending library for all ages on books that educate us on the wildlife!
I found the book I was looking for with a recent enough edition. The book arrived in pretty great condition. There were sticker marks on the cover, but the pages were all clean and intact. The price is awesome, and the delivery wait was standard.

I order books several times a year - I prefer to reuse books than buy new, and I approve of their mission to donate books along with their sales. If you're careful (and patient), you can get good deals on all sorts of books, even languages other than English. They are used books with all the caveats that come with that, but if you read the descriptions carefully, you'll know what to expect. I've never received a book in unacceptable condition. If the books aren't coming directly from BetterWorldBooks, shipping times may vary.
This is any excellent place to recycle your already-read books via their many drop boxes in the Michiana area. For every book purchased, the company donates one to a literacy project somewhere around the world. The prices and selection are always wonderful. It's the first place I look for a title or author.
If you don't mind gently used books this is the place to go. I have ordered quite a few times and have not been disappointed. I have a Kindle but every once in a while, I like having a real book to read. They may not always have what I am looking for but I can wait, they eventually get it.
As a teacher, sometimes there is that book that is perfect for teaching a particular topic. The book has been on the public library shelves until now. Oh no! Contact BetterWorldBooks, they are likely to have it. That has happened several times. The inventory is very deep, and I have very rarely stepped away without the book I wanted or needed.
Thought I had found this book with oracle deck however, it was not even listed it had the deck so that's why I ordered it. I was very disappointed to find out this was missing, so I ended up ordering another on eBay that HAD the complete set as listed (book guide and deck of cards). Be careful if you're looking for oracle cards and guidebooks and make sure you ask before you spend your money! Now I am stuck with the book that no one will buy back!
This is the 8th book I have ordered and I can confidently say that BWB is, hands-down, the best place to buy books online. I received this order in perfect condition. The book was almost brand new and well-worth the price. I've had a few issues with past orders but their customer care service was extremely helpful and provided prompt solutions. Love getting used books at a reasonable price! This order one of my books had a bookmark from Indonesia. I enjoy finding other people bookmarks in the book. It takes my imagination to a place of wonder. I do find it difficult to remove the library stickers yet not too high of a deal.
