I rented a property from them for three years. It was given to me dirty with stains on the carpet and yard dirty but I moved in anyways thinking all this would be fixed by my move in date and boy was I wrong I never paid rent late and also paid a couple months in advance. Then when it came time to move first of all if your purchasing a home you can't get out of hour lease which most places allow, Then you have to give a 90 day notice before you move which maybe it's just me but i believe that's a far stretch heck i wasn't even sure I was gonna close on my home within 90 days. Then once I moved out oh boy the Property manager gave me issues from the beginning kimber Davenport was completely unprofessional. It was like pulling teeth trying to get her to fix things in the house that were normal wear and tear and the only time I did hear from her it was through email which was nothing but threats and complaints from her never trying to resolve any issues or concerns. I'm sorry but I'm like how do you expect me to have things done to the property that weren't even done prior to me moving in? I even left the property way cleaner then how it was received it. At this point I feel like she's money hungry! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU'LL GET MORE THAN WHAT YOU BARGAINED FOR YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

Berkshire Hathaway
September 28, 2019

Jeff told us there was another offer on this home. 6225 McCords in Alto Michigan. We paid 590.00 for an inspection and offered 356,000 and wasted our money. The seller did not disclose the flue on the roof was bad and he conducted his own electrical work so the wires were backwards. I was told by Jeff that the screens that weren't on the chimney would be a total of 75.00 and the caps and the flue to be fixed would total 500.00. I called a chimney company and they told me 3,500 to 7,000 to fix the flue. The caps are 300.00 to 400.00 each and 75.00 each for the screen. Jeff made it seem if we asked the sellers for anything that we are asking for to much. Why would I pay 7,000 more than the asking price then be stuck with a water problem on the home because the chimney had no caps or screens to keep out water or animals. Then on top of that the flue was bad which was not disclosed because it is apart of the roof and the seller caulked it knowing the flue had issues. Also, Berkshire Hathaway is a nonsense to deal with, they don't like to release your earnest deposit. Took me 2 weeks to get my deposit back as if I didn't lose enough. His boss Jim Face is the broker and doesn't care as well. These are people who have been give. Their jobs because their dads were in the real-estate business. They do not care about getting you the funds, then they make you feel inadequate because you want something fixed. I would not recommend Jeff or Berkshire Hathaway for any home buyer. I was tired of the way I was treated. Then Mr. Face threatens to call the law if you request your earnest deposit back. If they have a review as I see they don't I will leave my review because this was ridiculous.

I am a first time home buyer and expecting any day now. I couldn't believe the unprofessionalism this company has. This has been a roller coaster through them. We knew there would be some stress but was not expecting the lack of communication and professionalism. This company has pushed to move our closing date up which we have agreed and then on multiple occasions they have dragged there feet with sending documents or even getting the documents over the the seller. We have been dealing with Lynn Risch and she has been nothing but unprofessional. She has spoken bad about our realtor on multiple occasions, dragged things out when they were trying to close early and now that we finally closed she is keeping the keys from us. I find it unprofessional when you can tell us the garage door code and tell us how they will have the keys on the property and let us know where they are. The next day we pack up and go to the new house for them to tell us they won't release the keys to us. After multiple attempts to get in contact with Lynn we finally get a response and had to wait for a document to get send over because once again there was no communication of this. It has been extremely aggravating. We have done everything on our end to bend over backwards to get everything to them, any documents they needed signed we had reviewed and send back same day but when my realtor would ask for things or need signatures they would drag there feet. Lynn has been nothing but unprofessional and has bad talked our realtor. She never answers her phone, doesn't reply to our realtor. This whole process has been a waiting game with her. I will never go through this company nor will I recommend anyone to sell, or buy through this company especially through her. We have spoken to multiple people regarding our situation that have bought homes and no one has had to deal with this much aggravation or unprofessionalism when buying a house. Like I said I would never recommend Lynn or this company to anyone that buys or sells a house.

I live(d) at Magnolia Manor on SW 37th St. Everything was fine until the new owners took the place. I had previously renewed a year ago and was going to renew again this year. I went through the whole renewal process and even spoke to the owner who was excited I was renewing. That was a lie because a week later I received a notice I was denied and the reason was "he had other plans". They then offered to put me in another apartment under the condition I pay another security deposit and pay an extra $100 a month for the same type unit.

The owner cannot be trusted. I had to change a wheel on my car and the car was on a jack and for not even an hour. The owner showed up and spoke to us and complimented our cars. He asked if we could finish up what we had to do and not do it again and we said that was totally fine and we apologized. The following Monday I received a notice that I had violated the lease because the car was up for 24 hours. It was up for 1 hour, at most and we did as he said. I wouldn't even consider changing a tire "mechanical work". I've worked on my car here before with 0 issues before this new owner and I've seen others do the same. Their inspections are a joke. God forbid you actually LIVE in your house. My roommate was in the process of moving and they knew that and they still complained that my apartment wasn't immaculate. It was clean, it was simply lived in. They thought my house was "cluttered" and they said my toilets were disgusting when I had just cleaned them with bleach and borax.

The price for this small apartment is ridiculous at $875. I'm honestly glad they decided not to let me renew. They did me a favor! I don't know about their other properties but stay away from this one.

I forgot to add that the maintenance people at my property were fantastic. I give them 10/10. They were very sweet and kind. They always fixed the issues asap.

I don't usually like to leave bad reviews, but I need to let people know the type of business these people conduct. I was recently scammed out of nearly $2800 by Ritesh Patel (Advocate Lutheran General) and Priti Patel (Berkshire Hathaway) and I do plan to pursue them in court.

I agreed to rent a town home from Ritesh Patel with Priti Patel acting as his agent. They are renting under the name J&J Real Estate LLC. There were certain repairs that they agreed to make prior to my move-in date. Upon inspection at move-in, these repairs were not made. In addition to that, there were no window blinds, washing machines not functional, living room floors damaged, backs door not secured (no keys), and a very obvious gas leak in the home.

I immediately took pictures and notified Priti that these repairs are needed and it's a safety hazard. I know this because I am a corporate property manager and a home owner myself (currently selling my home now, with possibility of moving out of town next year). After speaking with Priti, Ritesh immediately called me back stating he would not fix anything. He was screaming "that's how I bought the house so that's how I'm renting it." He then demanded that that I leave the key on the table as he changed his mind about renting to me. No problem at all, I immediately left the key on the table and sent him a snapshot to confirm that evening. I prefer not to die in a unsafe rental property. This occurred on the 1st which was my move-in date.

Till date, Ritesh Patel has refused to refund my 1st month rent nor my security deposit. He even had the nerve to immediately repost that dangerous and unsafe gas-leaking town home online for the next victim. Priti Patel has attempted to remove herself from the equation although she is very aware as an agent that Ritesh is illegally holding on to my funds. I will be filing suit against Ritesh and Priti very soon. They courts will have a field day with all the photos, text messages, and emails that I plan to submit.

This is just a word of warning to think twice about doing business with these two unexperienced persons. Avoid at all cost!

I was looking for a Real state company to help us sell our home in NJ. My husband's disabled and the property has gotten just too much for us.

We decided that moving to a warmer climate might actually help him with his disability and the pain that he is in on a daily basis.

So we listed our property with Berkshire Hathaway. Biggest Mistake we could have made.

So... it's on the market... our agent leaves after a few months and we never are notified... the new agent never contacts us and our house just sits and sits and sits.

I decided to email our first agent for paper work I needed and I did receive an email after about a month... that's how I found out that she was gone. She told me that she would have the new agent get in touch with me and would make sure I got the paperwork I needed. Needless to say... it never happened...

I called and asked to now talk to the agent responsible for our property and I was told that he was away for personal reasons. I asked to have him call me when he became available. That was on a Saturday. A week pasted and no phone call. I called and asked for him and was told again he wasn't in. I asked again to have him call me.

But, this time the receptionist yelled at me that I should call him... that it was up to me to call him. Honestly I felt like well... I will just leave that a lone...

I told her that was his job and I gave him an entire week to get back to me... that I would be there in 15 minutes with the sign... that I no longer wanted to have them handle my property.

I hung up... picked up the sign and went to the real estate office... to my surprise no one was there... it was deserted... I had to yell for someone twice and bang on the front desk for help.

A women came up and all she kept saying to me was... I don't know who you are... she must have said that about a dozen times or so... as I tried to explain the situation. My daughter who was with me just said let's go mom... it's obvious that she doesn't care... and we left.

Now we have wasted numerous months with an agency that doesn't work for their clients... yet alone get back to them. My husband is a sickly man and after all this and I did write the corporate office I get " sorry and good luck with the sale of your home"

You tell me... if you were in my shoes and you wasted valuable time... how would you feel...
So... my advice to anyone. DON'T USE BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY AS YOUR REALTORS... YOU MIGHT JUST END UP LIKE US...
