From the very beginning their design team was amazing getting me fabric samples. They stayed in contact with me while it was being built this took about 12 weeks. Delivery went smoothly and the product turned out beautifully. Couldn't be happier.

I've been pretty happy with a couple tables I bought from Ballard. I wouldn't have been if the items hadn't been on sale. The quality is just not quite up to the price tag. The site makes it look so high end, but it isn't. The furniture did ship quickly, but smaller items I've ordered have taken a RIDICULOUSLY long time to ship. Furthermore, if the add-ons they suggest you buy -- such as bulbs for the expensive lamp you purchase -- don't reach you for over 2 weeks, then it's hardly a convenience, is it. I've spent enough time and money buying here. No more Ballard Designs shopping for me. They are a mess.

They sent me the wrong rug, then I had to wait for them to send me a return bag. Finally got the bag, filled out the return form, and sent it back. Every person I spoke to gave me different information about how the return/ exchange process worked. They claimed I didn't include the return form (I had a picture of it in the bag so I knew they were lying) then they only tried to give me a partial refund. The first and last time I will ever order from Ballard Designs.

Ordered a rug and we paid approx 100.00 for delivery. This delivery company requested a date for delivery. Finally the day before comes on a Friday and they call saying they will not be here until 4:30 to 08:00 after dark. We live in a busy curve and after dark delivery is not an option. So we called company Ballard design. They give us a number and we call this delivery service to reschedule. The delivery company says I will have to call you back to deliver when I can find a date. We are headed to supper meeting some friends at 0500 and my wife gets a call from delivery driver stating he will arrive in thirty minutes. So I drop her off and drive fifteen miles to take delivery. Very nice, and patient customer service people. Sadly, you will need them a lot. Orders come with something missing, or something is wrong, just small mistakes that put off your project more and more.

Shipping added when it says free shipping.
I attempted to place an order but it wont take the shipping off. This has happened to me numerous times and Im tired of it. I think they just lost a really good customer.

Order the Geneva bookcase. It was delivered damaged twice. Ballard's white glove service took the bookcase back under Return Authorization for full credit. Over the last 30+ days I have called the company 5 times to find out where the credit was. No communication at from Ballard's customer service. Finally today I received a partial credit. I had to call again to get the shipping refunded. Now they tell me it will be expedited - maybe 3-5 more days. This company does not want to refund your money even when their product is clearly defective. Their own delivery service flagged the problems and said..."this happens ALL THE TIME." Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Tip for consumers:
Getting a full refund is like pulling teeth. The damage to the bookcases was flagged by Ballard's delivery people before I even saw it. The delivery people said "this happens "ALL THE TIME!". There is no communication from Ballard Customer Service. After 30 days, 4 phone calls, and a complaint to the BBB, received a refund for the bookcase and tax. Now fighting to get the shipping refunded.

None. After two attempts, Ballad Designs failed to provide a Geneva Bookcase that was not damaged/defective.

Same as all these other customers - ordered June - end of October after many chats and phone calls they make me call the delivery company myself and the delivery co said order had been cancelled and returned months ago. Woman at Ballard said she'd mark it as their fault so I didn't get charged restock - how kind of you Ballard! Do not order from this company - laziest and worst customer service I have ever encountered

I placed an order online. Received an expected delivery date that this Company were unable to make. Called for status and was told that it was still in the warehouse. The lady on the phone told me I was wrong that I could not have an email stating the delivery date because what was entered in their system was accurate and had not change. I decided to cancel the order due to her disbelief. She did not even try to saved it. Oh well, their loss $3,600

This company has some SEVERE supply chain and customer service issues. Do NOT buy from them. They have no visibility (or say they don't) into their furniture maker or warehouse (JB hunt). It's like they just take your money and then wash their hands of responsibility if there is any issue after that. Never seen anything like it. If you go on social media to raise awareness of their problems they block you from commenting, So shady.

I ordered 4 pool umbrellas on May 13…total approximately $2200 total. After MANY emails saying "shipment delayed a month due to global manufacturing and shipping problems", I received 1 umbrella 4 days ago. Yesterday, I received 3 canopies, but no poles. I called and they said the other 3 are on the way. Of course, summer is now over, so won't be able to use them this year. If our company ran this way, we'd be out of business.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t order from them unless you don’t mind waiting for 4-5 months for your items.

Do not buy in this store an item not available in store, more so if online. It's gonna be a pain in the $#*!. Status of your order will forever be "In process". The chat person are not nice either, they don't know how to handle complaints. Instead of getting an answer, you'll end up annoyed. I placed an order Aug 19 and status never changed, still "in process" as of this writting.

I ordered over $5,000 of furniture from Ballard Designs in Charlotte, NC and both chairs in my order were delivered in the wrong fabric. I called the store they apologized for the issue and reordered for me, however it has been 6 months and I still have not received the correct chairs or even gotten any compensation for their mistake or additional time this has taken. I highly recommend if you need furniture especially anything custom go somewhere else! This is NOT a reliable business.

They screwed up orders for a month and a half. Saying they shipped some thing which never arrived. No accommodation. Basically they could care less if I ordered from them. I'm an interior designer and I've dealt with many other companies but no longer with this one. I will use Horchow or Frontgate or Pottery Barn

I bought 4 drawers/filing cabinets to build an 11 ft desk with a butcher block top we bought from another company. I wanted better quality than Ikea and didnt want to spend the absurd amount for Pottery Barn. I was nervous reading bad reviews about shipping issues but decided to order them anyway because they were exactly what we wanted. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. They all arrived promptly and were already completely assembled which was a massive bonus. I honestly just had to pull them out of the box. None of them were damaged in anyway and the quality is great. Can't wait to finish the top to finish our desk.

Tip for consumers:
When I made my purchase I was confused because my payment showed it went through but no money was taken out of my account and it kept showing awaiting confirmation of payment on their website. It was confusing but payments went through when they shipped a few days later.

My sofa & Chair are several years old by now. I purchased them because they were slipcovered & I could wash them. So, washed them I did in cold water. First time I air dried and it took an army of strength to get them back on. Next couple times I washed them I put them back on right from the washer. It still took an army of strength to get them back on. I called Ballard and complained & they said they have never heard of a problem. It can't just be me and I believe with great certainty they were not being truthful. This is my story so you take your chances.

I ordered two custom ottomans from BD April 29th, 2022. I was told they should be shipped within 3-4 weeks. After that period of time, I would get these auto emails changing the shipping date. I called customer service in August. "So very sorry, it will now be shipped September 7,2022. Just received email today that the new shipping date will be October 17th, 2022! I am fairly certain that will change. Stay clear of this company! I am canceling this order!

The sofa was ordered May 3,2022, delivered September 9,2022. The due date promised was in mid August. Refer to the attached photos to see the upholstery work. This is NOT a slipcover. I paid 10K for this quality? I cannot recommend this company. Just awful.

I ordered 2 Large Olive Jar Planters in early 01/2023-Items shipped to incorrect address despite going online with "live chat" and assured order was going to correct address; called by delivery man, order going to wrong address many states away; then spoke with AIT Delivery and assured order was redirected to correct address; order arrived 1 month later, only 1 item from order was received; shipping co said only 1 box was given to them; went online and on phone with Ballard-told I had to reorder another item-o help/poor customer service and I wil Never Order From this company again-problems like this are the reason many US companies are failing and closing-Do not order from this Headache of a site again unless you love stress!

Guess its a forum to give public information about poor service/no service/and 0 results-even the CEO emails do not work-do not order from this company

We ordered a 60 inch bench and a bench cushion from the King of Prussia store in this specific color we liked. Several days later I ordered the same fabric from their website to make matching pillows myself. When the cushion arrived it was a 48 inch cushion. I called customer service (which wasn't so apologetic) and was told that they don't even have a 60 inch cushion in that color. And they told me fabric isn't returnable but she put in a note to stop the shipment and cancel the order. The bench arrived cracked... Called again to return the bench and make sure I won't receive the fabric, it was their mistake after all. I also emailed them only to get a "sorry fabric cannot be returned" email. Emailed again, explaining one more time that this stemmed from their mistake and it is just not fair for them to make me buy this fabric. No response. The fabric got delivered, I was charged the amount. Now I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and going on every social media channel to talk about my negative experience. I can't believe Ballard Designs wasn't able to make up for their mistake and lost a customer over $65.

I ordered a lamp shade in February. Had to call today to find out it will be at least September before it arrives. I am moving, so I simply asked to change my shipping address. I was told I couldn't and would need to cancel my order and reorder it. Seriously? Such horrible customer service.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t use Ballard Designs if you want to receive your item in less than 6 months.
