I had a reservation for a full size car 140.00;
For 4 days. My time was at 3. And they only give u an hour to get there so I showed up 15 min late. My reservation cancelled no full car in sight and reopen a new reservation. They would not budge so I get a car for 350+ No choice to go to another place because we had taken shuttle This is my first and last time. They won't even have a phone conversation. All by email. POOR SERVICE
Terrible company. Should have been suspicious when customer service was overseas and my billing was from some East European company. The company wanted deposit up front so that should have been warning. Arrived at rental car company and they did not honor the rental rate without a LOT of haggling on my part.
The car rental in Houston Texas had no one on site. It was by a portal. Upon arriving they wanted to scan your driver license and a credit card. They wanted to put $1,000 holding on the credit card that would not be returned for 15-30 days. Then they wouldn't take my apple card (which is a master card) or debit card. Then they were going to charge another day rental for bringing back the car 1 hour after scheduled time.
AutoRentals.com looks cheap at the first moment. But be aware that no insurance or "cdw/ldw" is included in their offers. Other "extra fees" might be collected, when claiming the registered car. It seems that the well known sentence is true: "Who buys cheap, has to pay double!". When I picked up my car the price for the car including all (just) basic amenities, I had to pay double the price announced by "autorentals.com" at the counter!
The rates they advertise are not the rates you get when you're redirected to the car rental websites. It was a total waste of time. They advertised a car at $7/day. So I clicked on the link to find a 4-day reservation for $172. The daily rate was $29. Do the math, that's over 400% of what they stated.
Made a reservation thru AutoRentals, went to pick up the car only to find out that the reservation had been cancelled. I was never notified of the cancellation. I had to spend the next 3 hours of my vacation getting another rental car. Called their customer service department, they stated that the Rental Car company cancelled the reservation because they had problems with the vehicle, which is bogus, its not like they don't have other vehicles to give me. Do not recommend this company. This company reviews on other sites is often very low, which is also concerning. They would not offer any reimbursement for my time and inconvenience. Also, AutoRentals goes thru a company called CarRentals8 who has 41 complaints and a Facebook review of 1.7, hard to believe they would rent cars thru such a bad company.
Easy peasey making reservations. I had used Fox before, that was the company I ended up being redirected too. All the other sites were $349 plus! I was a bit last minute, ended up $223! That was great comparatively. So. I'm happy ;)
Autorentals' price was subdued to the availability of ******* € on my credit card. I think they should write this condition everywhere in HUGE CAPITAL LETTERS. To get the car (since my credit card is not Uncle Scrooge's) I had to pay twice as much. I think that Autorental should give me back the difference and then, maybe, I could change my opinion. In the meantime I'm publishing my experience on every traveller's website and social network. I wish them a day as good as the one in which I picked up the car.
I used this site to book a week of car rental in July 2022 for Costa Rica. Paid for full car rental to their partner site (Thrifty car rental). Once arrived i was told they don't have that car that has been fully paid for 6 weeks ahead of time. After long arguments they finally gave me an old van with few mechanical issues. The counter person even told me about the issues to begin with. Since we were in a foreign country with little help, we had to take the rental. Autorental was of no help and could not care less about the issue. No one to talk to and email complaints are ignored. This site is a SCAM do not use it if you want peace of mind.
Example #2. Tried to book a car here in Reno, NV for 4 days. Rates shown on the site is under $21/Day, however, once you go to to pay, total is $320! How do you go from the initial quote to four times that? See my screen shot and you see what I mean. I had no intention of using this site again but when you are on Kayak, they automatically send you to this site. DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
I always like dealing with one person there her name is Deana Steward she is so professional and very helpful and very kind thats why I will always rent from Auto rental ETC because of her she is the best.

Buyer beware! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We rented a car on rentalcars.com for pickup at an airport location. Our flight was delayed and we arrived late to pickup the car. The woman at the rental company told us that Rentalcars.com canceled our reservation within 15 minutes of our pick-up time. Meaning even if our flight was on time and we were held up in baggae claim, or the rental car shuttle line, we would not be able to pick-up the car. Why would they cancel our reservation you ask? Because then they pocketed our full prepayment of 500!
We ended up having to rent a car at the desk and pay in full. Again!
When we finally got through to rentalcars.com- which is also very difficult when calling from overseas - we were told that since we didnt cancel our reservation 48 hours before our pick up time (who knows their flight is delayed 48 hours prior to the pick up time?!) we couldn't get any of our money back unless we made another rental agreement with them and then they would give us one day back.
This is a fraudulent company! Don't take a chance! Just pay more! In this case paying more will definitely cost you less!

The pricing was excellent and when I had some problems with the airline on dates Scott at Customer Service was very helpful.
Made reservation for two passenger van specifically Opel Vivaro since there were 14 of us and lots of luggages. Avis declined my hard copy of the reservation which clearly had the pic of Opel Vivaro and explained in two areas of the reservation "Opel Vivaro or similar" and offered us Opel Zefir which was much smaller 7 passenger suv. Since we could not fit in them with our luggages we insisted on Open Vivaro but they declined and said we need to contact carrental.com with our issue. Finally we were forced to pay additional 150 Euro per day to upgrade one of the cars to what it was supposed to be. Send email to carrental.com and they claim the reservation was for Smaller Opel Zefir and when I sent them the hard copy proof of my reservation for bigger Opel Vivaro there were no response. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE IN YOUR RESERVATION WITH CARRENTAL.COM OR YOU WILL PAY DEARLY AND CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. They are scammers who will tell you anything you like to hear but after the sale there is not even a phone number you can call them
Achtung, uns wurde eine ganz miese Autovermietung zugeteilt. 1000 Dollar mehr als offeriert schlussendlich. Ich empfehle dieses Unternehmen auf keinen Fall!
