I love this app. I love the fact that my favorite books can be read to me. I can listen to them anytime, especially when working or cleaning the house. I would recommend this app.
Its really not as bad as everyone else seems to suggest. I didn't really expect much from a free trial. Its also pretty easy to find more free trial links so just cancel it before the last day.
I was about to give up on them, after 8 months of no smartphone service, long hours on the phone with the helpdesk, I finally got someone who fixed the issue. During this time I signed up for the Romance / Escape package. It is only available through the US site and is $6.95 US per month. It has unlimited access to a selection of romance books (over 1000+) and was introduced to many great authors, ie. J. Bengtsson, Dakota Cassidy, Lauren Blakely, Katie MacAlister. The package also has select Molly Harper! A great deal!
It tells me to go to my library that is empty? So I've been listening directly in Amazon. Terrible app.
Don't waste your time typing a review if you do not like a book, as Audible states the review immediately becomes their property - meaning if the review is poor it will be deleted. I've read 5 books so far and was critical of two - both reviews were deleted.
They make it intentionally difficult to cancel membership. And their instructions to cancel membership don't work from a smart phone. You have to be on a computer to cancel.
Absolutely shocking! I have been charged for Australian membership and without my I knowlage also a us membership. I cancelled my Australian memebership but was still being charged for us memebership! Be warned
I did not sign up for Audible and today I found that I've been charged, not once, but twice for a subscription service that I don't even know about. I went to their website to contact the service but the options are unable. What that hell is happening?
I canceled my membership, but the charging kept appearing on my credit card. I eventually had to change my card.
Somehow duplicate accounts were created using the same email address on my account. Not only am I not sure how that can happen, but neither is Audible, nor could they explain anything to me. After several attempts to resolve my issue through their Live Customer Service, Chat Customer Service and emailing Customer Service directly, no one could solve my issue. Yet everyone kept telling me to contact another form of customer service, "Please contact out Live Customer service", "Please send an email to customer service". My books were only showing up in the app but not on the website due to the duplicate account. As a result of this I ended up with and extra months Audible charge and and Additional Prime membership somehow. On a positive note all charges were refunded, I'll get my money back in 3-5 business days.
The fact that I had to contact Audible daily and they were still unable to resolve my issue, or even sound concerned that I was having an issue is crazy! I figured out a resolution myself. I changed the email address on the duplicate account to a different email address to completely separate the account. Then I deleted the duplicate account. Done. Resolved. Unfortunately I don't know how their systems work, and I bet if someone would have just listened to my issue instead of rushing me off the phone, there is probably a simple explanation that I would have been able to understand. I have never had an issue using Audible before and I actually really like the service, but it's not worth the headache of contacting Customer Service if I have an issue.
I canceled my membership months ago but the charge kept appearing on my
Credit card. Last month I asked my wife to make sure she had all her
Books off the list and then attempt to cancel again. She said she went
Through the process and then canceled. I see yesterday another $14.95 charge.
What do we have to do to cancel this service? This is the gift that
Keeps on taking, and taking. I chatted with a rep today and was told the last two months were a mistake and they were going to issue a refund. It showed that the account was still open so I canceled again. I asked about the other months and was told, "Sorry about your luck." I see others are having similar problems. Would like to have them stopped
I did not sign up for Audible, but some how I was being charged for two straight years. I called up and in minutes, my account was canceled and my money was refunded without any problems whatsoever. I have no idea how this Audible service works, but if you are interested in learning more, their customer service is OUTSTANDING!
I have registered for 'First-month free' membership, then have tried to cancel membership on the last day of the free month(Aug 21st, 2018). However, I couldn't cancel it, because the system said "I am not a member.". So I thought that means they would AUTOMATICALLY end my membership unless I declare otherwise. THEN I just looked through my credit card purchase history after a month and found they have charged for the monthly fee! I couldn't believe that! WTF! I went back to their website and finally could cancel my membership. But I am super frustrated on this and want to get it reimbursed.
Audible places arbitrary credit storage limits! They keep charging you, no problem with that, but they throw away the credits you paid for because it's over the limit! I've been stockpiling credits so they'll be available as an accompaniment to the written text to help my slow-reader at school. It is outrageous that after 12 credits are reached, they will throw them away on you. If you call to complain they will put the credits back on, so buyer be aware. In addition, it's annoying that you cannot sort search results based on price, etc as you can on other sites. You are also unable to edit a review. Ever. The actual product and number of titles are the only thing good about this company. Shame on you Audible!
So many bugs.
The desktop app doesn't work at all in that it won't play back any of the content that I have paid for.
The desktop app tec support doesn't work either and just gives cryptic error messages when I try to lodge a complaint.
I have always loved listening to books in the car on vacations, even when they were on cassettes. I was a little uncertain though when my son bought me a year long subscription to Audible for Christmas a couple of years ago. When would I have time to listen to a book? I even let a couple of credits slip by before I figured out that I have time every single day! I have a lot more time to listen to a book then I have time to read. I listen as I clean house, run errands, mow the yard and if I'm fully engrossed, I've been known to crank it up in the shower. I have now managed to figure out the local library system so between the two, I keep up with the latest books on the market. Audible does make it a little difficult at first to select and pay since you have to deal with two sites and passwords but once you get past that stumbling block, it's a breeze. And, I DON'T like the fact your credits will disappear if you don't use them within 6 months. I feel like, by golly, I pay for them, I shouldn't be penalized for not rushing my preferred order. Send me a refund if you're going to take back what I don't use immediately!
Got this as a gift, got some books, I put together a library which vanished without explanation. The help line is useless, lots of jargon which does not match anything on my device, followed by more different rubbish fixes by email, they then require you to phone at goodness knows what cost to offer more fixes. Looks like the old phone help line scam of years back costing hundreds while they keep you talking.
I wish I had read the reviews before accepting this 'gift'. It really is looking a bit of a scam, Amazon really needs to take this in hand and either fix or dump. One month to go, I cannot wait to cancel. Think carefully and read the reviews before any involvement with these people.
I signed up for a particular book to listen to. The audible site did not recognize my amazone site. On the Amazon site there was no audible transaction. When, after hours of downloading "Brothers Karamazow" I wanted to listen to the piece, they wanted me to identify again. But that did not work. I amdeeply frustrated and cannot recommend this type of misarable service.
Never signed up to it. I paid in dollars when I live in Yorkshire!
$#*! right off.,...
