After they can't charge my card (when this one have enough fund and works well on amazon) they delete my credits already paid.
It was no where visible or written. I thought i was subscribing to free trail. U must always use desktop version for amazon website. They looted my 100 sgd and more. All teh amils where going to scam. And i ddi not check my account statement properly. I regret knowing about audible in first place
They link with amazon and get your account charged and hacked. It will charge you from a different country and steal your money. I'm from the US and NEVER signed up for audible, but was charged from the UK and have yet to get my money back.
Amazon should never be affiliated with this terrible company
Don't fall for this scam. They charge you $15 a month for the ability to listen to an audio book that you must pay for in the first place! To put that into prospective, I can go out and buy a CD player for $15 and then buy a CD version of the audio book and save myself HUNDREDS of dollars! It may be a little more clunky then having a one stop shop for all my "audio CDs" but $15 a month is nothing but a kick-in-the-nuts rip off! Also, I'm AMAZED they do not give you access with your amazon prime account... All in all, don't touch them with a 10 foot pole, just read all of the other reviews.
They are a rip off, they charge you every month but if you dont use your credits they will expire after a certain amount of time. And if you want to cancel, you will lose all of you credits. These people should not be in business. If should be illegal to charge someone for something that expires.
I signed up for the free trial on their Canadian site, cancelled before the month was up, thought everything was fine. Just found out I've been getting charged by Audible in USD every month - I checked their American site and it says I have an active account there, created the exact same day as my Canadian one. This is so sketchy, I did not create an account on their American site. Wish I'd read these reviews before signing up for the trial.
Like most others here I found it a complete scam. I managed to stop it billing me after a few months on my "free" account. I signed up to see what they had but did not buy. Once I realised the scam I cancelled but now the titles I "purchased" I can only listen to on registered computers. Wanted to listen in car on USB for a long journey and this is not possible.
Check your bank they keep taking money even when you unsubscribe. Customer service just states they have no record of you but they keep taking money. Bad bad service.
I recently saw I was charged 16 bucks for audible. This was going on for two years every month. I started a free account but believed I had canceled my membership. Don't trust this service. It is a complete scam, and they robbed me around 300 bucks!
Audible billed me for 3 years on a general household account, attached to Amazon that I didn't sign-up for. They've agreed to credit me back, but 3 months, 4 calls, 5 hrs of BS still has no money credited back to me. I had to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision
I've been a member of Audible for over 14 years and have loved it. HOWEVER, Audible recently "dumbed down" their software, replacing useful information in my Library - especially the column that provided information about whether or not I own the companion Kindle books, and whether a Kindle book is available for that book -with completely unnecessary big pictures of the books' covers. As if we don't know how to read a list of books and need a picture. What? Does Audible think its listeners are children? I am incredibly annoyed by the change as it affects one important way in which I decide where and when to listen to a particular book. I have contacted them in every way possible, and only receive vague responses. Amazon and Audible are supposed to be linked, but eliminating the Kindle Whispersync column in my personal Library is stupidest move ever.
I bought a book from this site, supposing that is the same than Amazon. But I realised that they charged me every month $15 for services that I didn't know that I'm paying
I like the service. Very convenient on my Android phone. Every month they give you a credit or two for books. Recently used two credit to purchase books. For some reason they did not show up in my library. Tried customer support. They went back through account and say credits were not there and not used. Funny how I spent 30 minutes choosing books, purchasing and deciding what to leave for later. From their side, it never happened. So either it was a rip off or the credits in my account were erroneous. Not happy. Makes my drive better, but this is crap. Customer support was no help. Need to find a good substitute.
Found a surprise charge on our credit card statement (the card has never been used). Online search discovered the charge originated with Audible.com. Contacted customer service and all they wanted was names, e-mails and billing addresses. For what? To sell? They claimed they needed the e-mail associated with the account. There is no associated e-mail because an account was never created. Two separate representatives were contacted. Same answer from both = waste of time. TOTAL SCAM to get your amazon account information.
Ok, maybe its me but Audible saved my life. I have been listening to Books on Tape since the 1980s. I do not listen much entertainment but instead chose to use my time to expand my mind and enhance my weapon to engage in the battle that is life.
I have learned new skills, achieved personal goals, and improved both my family and love life. I do not know how to put a value on all of that, but I do know that it has been valuable.
As a long-time Audible subscriber, I have had nothing but good experiences with their services. The best thing that I can say for Audible is that I encouraged all of my children and extended family to join also.
For those who have had issues with their services all I can say is patience & persistence, its what I teach my children and those I love
DO not ever give your credit card details I was charged a fee for not even having an account I can cancel THEFT!
I tried their Free Trial through Amazon.com, and found their recorded books were unplayable on my MP3 player, despite the fact that they claim they are compatible, and my MP3 came pre-programmed with Audible software. Tech support was useless - all they wanted to do was remote-access my computer. They can't even resolve a simple play-back issue and I'm supposed to give them access to my entire computer system? Seriously?
And to add insult to injury, they either gave or sold my email address to other companies. I know it was Audible because I have my own domain and I assign different email addresses to each company I deal with. I just got 37 new pieces of spam today alone. If that's not illegal, it should be...
This is waiting for a class action lawsuit. There was an offer for a free audiobook which i accessed, and downloaded Audible. I was actually charged for the book and then underhandedly debited monthly for membership - despite not using any books! They must have just used my Amazon payment details. Only realized this when i saw amounts debited off my bank account months later.
Then when going to cancel (after demanding a refund to avoid legal action) i see that they say you will lose the credits! Absolutely shocking to see daylight exploitation and robbery from Amazon.
I signed up for the trial and got my free book and then got charged for 6 months until I finally noticed that my money was vanishing into thin air. They used my amazon credit card for payments without my permission. I cancelled the service and they removed all of the credits my account had. I thought okay then if they are taking away all my credits then surely I will be able to get my money back. I went to the purchase history and the last 6 months of membership charges said "not eligible for return," so my 90 dollars just disappeared then? I ended up contacting support and they refunded my money but i'm still mad about the whole situation. Stay away from audible and do not support this shady business practice.
You sign up for the service, try it out, cancel the service, and are still charged for months on end. It's an absolute scam, and the support department is a joke.
Answer: I've had the same problem, they charge me from the US AND Australia so I can't even cancel cos no access to these sites. If you manage to contact them, they should refund you
Answer: Not not a clue but they refunded me all the money back they took out my back so alls good
