Aspen Dental advertises the 1st visit is completely free...LIE! Not only did they bill my insurance, they would not clean my child's teeth unless they had $8,000.00 worth of dental work done first...I went to another dental group that cleaned my child's teeth and stated that they had NO IDEA what Aspen Dental was referring to...STAY AWAY from ASPEN DENTAL!

I have been dealing with them for 8 ot 9 years. I had implants put in and have had nothing but problems. My new dentures look like horse teeth and the mini pegs are falling out. They want me to start over again to the tune of $37,000 for new dentures and implants. They have totally failed in their promise to patients to make dentures that look good and feel good. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Dewceptive Advertising
February 29, 2024

Aspen Dental engages in false advertising on their website. The prices listed on the website are far less than the prices you get from each practice. They refuse to give any pricing on the phone or in email and insist that you make an appointment to "discuss" pricing. In my particular instance, the website offered $500 off their best denture. The office in Warrington didn't know about the offer and couldn't find it online. I took the office manager's business card, went home and looked up the site, and sent her an email showing what the site offered. $500 off the comfilite denture. I emailed her two more times to get the exact cost of my denture but she failed to respond. BEWARE...these practices are intentional!

Over Billing
February 23, 2024

Do not go to Aspen Dental in Peru Illinois. They are committing Insurance fraud. If you have insurance and are in network you should not pay anything except a copay. But most time nothing. Fraud

Are they kidding?
February 14, 2024

I am disabled and have a limited income. I did purchase private dental insurance though but, I was told by Aspen Dental that I would have to pay up front for my dental work and the insurance would reimburse me. My insurance told me they never heard of such a thing. They told me that they have to submit the estimate first and they pay after the work is done.

I would not recommend them. I recently found out that there is a class action lawsuit against them for deceiving patients.

Aspen Dental Rip-off
February 11, 2024

My wife came in to have a tooth ache addressed and after X-rays, a hygienist and finally a dentist looked at her and next thing you know that want to remove four teeth get a bridge and a put a cap on one of the teeth. Then they send you to an office manager who drops a bomb on you. She said you have good insurance so it would only cost over $2,000 not eight thousand.
My issue is they didn't treat the issue at hand my wife's tooth ache.
My wife was is pain and we had to remind the dentist to prescribe an antibiotic. Nothing was accomplished on Friday 2/9/24 except getting an antibiotic. We still have to get care on Monday 2/12/24 and do pain management until we see a dentist that will help my wife.
This was the same scam they did with me last year.
I'm getting in touch with WBRE/WNEP to investigate Aspen Dental, that up charge you and say that you have to do certain procedures before they can do what is really needed immediately.
We are not the only people who had the same issues, we are seniors and should not be treated like this.
Even CVS said all their customers complained about Aspen Dental.
They should have ZERO stars.

So far... Not so good.
February 6, 2024

I went to AD for general xrays/cleaning etc. I was handed an estimate for care that was nearly $3000 with "insurance discounts" and other cryptic and suspect billing nomenclature. I left without an explanation and called back a few weeks later which was an ordeal all by itself. I could not reach the office where I went for care and was repeatedly put on hold and dumped to dial tone or sent to corporate where they just transferred the call where I was summarily put on hold and dumped to dial tone again. I have had the "Deep cleaning" they are recommending and it is simply cleaning up the tooth beneath the gumline. I have had it done with and without anasthesia and without was infinitely easier. My instinct is that this cleaning is being renamed and repackaged as something it is not so they can charge an exorbitant amount for it. Dentistry in the USA has become a great way to "Take the money and run". So tired of the wolves in health care taking advantage of people who just want to be healthy and not go broke. Aspen Dental 4602 East Washington Ave Madison WI ******* Buyer Beware.

Now for the teeth. 1 year later still waiting for teeth that fit. They want me to take what they have made even though they don't fit at all. Start with where the implant hole is supposed to be.

Money hungry
January 3, 2024

This is the kind of place you would send your worst enemy to. And just like any Corporation all there about is money When they're bugging you about implants (which take years to fully heal ( if they don't get infected) an cost 10s+ks - tell them you'll think about it before you have your work done. Otherwise you're going to be treated like crap, You'll barely get any novicain and your stitches will probably fall out before you get home like-mine. Edit one month after my extraction I had to go back and have my jaw bone ground down from a piece of bone that broke off and reattached that should have been suctioned out. After my last extraction I was so sick from a respiratory illness thanks to the girl hacking all over the place no mask. The only reason my charge was low is because my family member works there and she gives me her break. An she had implants, yes they got infected leading to more required work.

Yes I'm jaded I spent over 45k trying to "save" my teeth. Not just at Aspen Both parents lost theirs in their early 20s. We always went to dentist, carried a brush my whole life got braces at 23 an problems started. I knew the end result was going to be me losing my teeth. These dentist fought with me that I was too young and convinced me continue on with a non-stop work, years of pain, not eating. In the end I went to a foreign country, was treated properly and got done what needed to be done. Be your own advocate. Read. EXAMPLE Anytime a root canal is suggested pull it. The rubber plug ( mine was a metal spike that went thru tooth into jaw, i was given tooth from dentist in foreign country) causes bacteria and infection to be permanently trapped. It is impossible to fully clean, disinfect inside tooth. Causing other health issues that you would never relate. Sorry I digress. Take care of your teeth to avoid these doctors if at all possible

Money hungry con artists
December 27, 2023

Aspen dental are money hungry con artists. My husband went in for a simple extraction. He paid for initial consultation and X-rays and was told he needed more work. He was placed in a waiting room and someone from "finance" came in and said it would be 11,300 to complete all necessary dental work. They offered financing. Lol. That right there was a big red flag. But he explained that he didn't want any other work done just the extraction. So after waiting another 20-30 minutes they came back and said in order to do the extraction he would need a deep cleaning first. In the end they offered to do this for 3,300. What a joke. We should have read reviews before making an appointment.

If I could give -100 I would. I got email from Care Credit this morning regarding my online application. I did NOT fill one out, but Aspen Dental did because I was stupid enough to give them my SS number. I told office manager Katherine Trott that visit that "I would not commit to anything right now, and would get back to her when and if I decided to get the work done there". They applied online, in my name w/o me even approving their estimate or work or need for application for care credit. I want to prosecute whoever did this in my name. Good news is my credit file is locked down and they could not get into it therefore CareCredit refused the loan. I cannot believe they have done this. I will be there Tuesday after Christmas speaking to their office manage. This may be illegal. If I can prosecute them I will. I knew the mi Ute I gave my SS it was not smart but applying for a loan in my name w/o my knowledge speaks to unethical at the least and illegal at the most. BEWARE OF ASPEN DENTAL

Look elsewhere
December 14, 2023

I came to Aspen in hopes of trying to get back my smile and confidence. UNDERSTAND THE DENTAL ASSISTANCE WERE WONDERFUL AS WERE MOST OF THE DRS. That being said, I have never felt so rushed in my life. Almost like an assembly line. From the first set of finished dentures I was given, I experienced pain due to ill fitting dentures. The first 3 FINAL SETS? All broke at the bottom middle plate whenever I was eating. Each and every time I called to get back in, it resulted in being put on hold a total of 78 minutes between 7 calls in 4 Months. IN WHAT BUSINESS WORLD IS THIS ACCEPTABLE). I made a previous complaint. About having to be on hold so long, which I was told would be addressed. Perhaps if Aspen Dental treated their customers like people instead of a cash assembly line where you extract their credit cards, check books and cash it would be a decent place to visit. I have had to take Too MANY days off from work For an appointment that yielded a result of ZERO SATISFACTION. I'm convinced that Aspen either turns the ringers off on their phones or have a new policy that requires no one is to answer the phone. Aspen Take a look at all my previous calls and my appointments like I mean something to you. How hard can it be to have someone assigned to answer calls without placing them on hold for 15-64 + minutes.I have a job and a life. Let this serve as notice that I have done my part to mitigate this as much as possible. I'm sure your pockets are deeper than mind as I have spent half my savings on ASPEN. However I'm sure I have enough $ left to hire an attorney to seek resolution. I look forward to hearing from you before December 18 2023 at 5pm

My normal dentist was no longer in network so I tried out Aspen dental since they accepted my insurance. They did some x-rays and measured my the spacing of my teeth (which I do not believe was accurate). There scanner was broken (so they say) so they did hand measurements.

They recommended a "deep cleaning" based on the 4 and 5mm spaces they recorded on a couple teeth. The deep clean consists of them spraying water between my teeth and applying an antibiotic called ARESTIN. I declined the antibiotic as it had a pretty alarming warning disclaimer in the brochure they handed me.

They took me to billing and told me my insurance was great and it would actually cover a good amount. The total charge for the deep cleaning was going to be $1,700 but insurance would cover all but $700 that I would need to pay out of pocket for. I asked for a regular cleaning and told the woman I was not comfortable with the antibiotic and I did not want to pay that price for them to just spray water in between my teeth. The woman told me that because I'm at risk for gum disease (based on there hand measurements) they can not do a regular cleaning it must be a deep cleaning or they are at risk for neglecting the patient.

I will never go back to this Chain in my life and I will never take my children there and will advise against anyone going there. It felt as though they were initially screwing numbers and trying to lead me into fear. My regular dentist had always told me I had healthy teeth and gums so I was suspicious from the beginning.

I'm will be returning to my regular dentist and paying there $50 cleaning fee for out of network.

Horrible Service
December 13, 2023

Aspen dental Elizabeth City is the worst. I went to Aspen Dental to get my snap ons completed. They did nothing but give me excuses. First I had to provide a letter from Orthodontist of what was needed to finish the work. Big mistake. I wound up giving them 3 clearance letters. One letter sent from Orthodontist which they said they never received. They gave me a speech that it takes alot of time to order the parts. 30 days later.parts were still not ordered. They promised to call in 2 weeks...30 days later no call. Parts still not ordered. Keep in mind that I have only posts on my bottom gums. Because of this I have only been able to eat soft foods. I have lost nearly 15 pounds. They have no empathy. I had to start the process all over again. This is during Thanksgiving and Christmas. My heath is still deteriorating

Disputed all charges for their si-calked root canal that I had to have redone and paid over $4000.
Aspen did not pay/refund $1 towards my claim.
Absolutely horrible! Would never recommend any type of treatment at their facility.
