Working with Armstrong has been a wonderful experience. I just past the design phase working with Breanna Ibanez my project manager who has walked me through each step. We made a few design modifications which dialed in my building requirements. Can't wait to see the product onsite and built. Blueprint and logistics are up next then to fabrication. I expected the remaining steps to be just as smooth.

DO NOT BUY from Armstrong Steel
I believe that Armstrong Steel is using unfair and deceptive business practices. They misrepresented that my $6524,00 deposit was required to "lock in" a price and then falsely blamed me for delays as an excuse to deny me the $5219.10 "rebate" agreed upon in the original contract. They claimed I didn't sign a final design agreement on time that they had never sent me!

And a Facebook page Armstrong Steel Buildings Victim group has 154 members. My experience with Armstrong Steel is not unique.
Armstrong Steel employees refuse to take responsibility for their breach of contract and delay issues but have no problem refusing to refund your deposit when you do not agree to pay more than the original contract price. Be aware their terms of agreement on the website states: " You, the consumer, forfeit all rights to go to court to defend or assert your rights. The consumer also forfeits all rights to bring class actions against Armstrong Steel. By using the goods or services provided by Armstrong Steel, you give consent to these restrictions." What type of business demands customer forfeit their rights? A dishonest one...

You purchased your building on 6/17/2022 with the understanding that you would need to finalize your design to be submitted for fabrication within 30 days. Instead, you did not do so until August 14, which was well outside the contracted time period, resulting in the loss of your rebate. Despite our attempts to find a resolution and offer the rebate back, you refused to move forward with the project.

I ordered my "dream" shop upon retiring in July of 2021, put down my $9K deposit and was told my the salesman that I could expect delivery first of the year 2022. I contacted my "project manager" numerous times during '22 only to be told "a couple more months", so after a couple of complaints to the BBB I finally received drawings in the late fall. I submitted my drawings to the permitting department for approval and had to pay all fees AGAIN because it had been over a year. The plans as submitted to me could not be approved, there were no footing details, no slab details, and no details as to how the shop was to attached to my home. I contacted Armstrong and was told everything they needed was on page 2, permitting checked the drawings again and same results. Contacted Armstrong again and this time was told that they did not supply these details and that I would have to hire an outside engineer to supply these details. Why was I not told this the first time or early on in this process? I am sure that they have some satisfied customers but again they aren't what they seem! Check Facebook victims group, over 135 members! Can't add pictures because there's nothing to show! I'm just glad I didn't do the excavation on my property preparing for the building!

We do our best to detail costs a customer might incur and provide a short and detailed explanation of what every customer is agreeing to on the first page of a purchase order, including our refund policies. Our records indicate that your Project Manager reached out to you via email and phone several times, and received only three replies from you. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible for you, but without communication, this is impossible. Because of this lack of communication, your scheduling documents we sent to you were never returned to us, nor did you reach out to your Project Manager to notify us of any issue. We allowed an extra 30 days as you requested to finalize your project, and also clearly state in the terms and conditions of your contract that it is the customer’s responsibility to design their foundation - we manufacture metal buildings, we are not a general contractor so we do not provide concrete foundation plans. We sincerely apologize for your negative experience, and we do appreciate you taking the time to post your concerns. Excellent customer service! I had been getting quotes on a building from several suppliers and Joshua of Armstrong Steel was the most responsive and answered my questions in timely manner. He was easy to get it touch with and always returned my calls and emails. Joshua gave me great confidence in the quality of service Armstrong Steel could provide. Other companies could take a lesson from Joshua on how to provide excellent customer service.

Armstrong is a scam. They will take your money and wait until you forfeit the deposit. Youll never get your drawings or structure. Once they get your deposit, nothing but crickets and when you had enough, they will offer to expedite your order but ask you to sign a gag contract and they sign it AFTER you do which means it will be edited to suit their needs. They can't change your position in line nor do they intend to.
They hide things in the contracts they provide, they won't provide dates, confirmed prices, everything is subject to change at their whim and they want you to believe there's nothing you can do about it. They have ruined hundreds of lives by trapping them in their scheme.
They also tell you theres a discount or you can be expedited if you leave a good review. If youve been scammed, please reach out to the groups out there who are trying to make this unethical business practice stop.

Bought a large shop, once deposit was secured early last year they say "its out of our control" until you start demanding a refund. Then they will send you a gag contract under the guise that youll get your papers. In reality, they already have your papers, they want you to forfeit the deposit so they wont have to provide anything.

We are just in the beginning stages of deciding what type of building we want to go with on our future property, not ready to buy yet. I let them know that upfront but that didn't stop them from giving me the best customer service, answering all my questions, and giving me all the time and information I needed to make an informed decision. I worked with Conner Donohue and he was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Hello everyone. There admittedly is some negative press going around about this company BUT take a few minutes to check all the facts. Remember that IF people are making reviews it is typically the few that had a bad experience, or an exceptionally good experience. Were some people disappointed with their experience through the COVID crisis with delays and/or cost changes? Yes. However, COVID pricing affected all of us and still is. Finally we are starting to see some relief. I am not affiliated with this company at all but rather was working to get a building through them.
Well, what about my experience? I have been on the phone many multiple times with these kind, helpful and accommodating people. They went out of their way to make my project work. The worked with me on the pricing and the shipping to make the project fit my budget. I was able to get in on some special pricing due to a large order being placed, however a budget problem came up and I was not able to continue with my project. Again, these people worked with me to everything they could to help me out. Ultimately I was not able to continue with the project, at least not yet, but even though this was the case they STILL were kind, understanding and helpful. They really wanted to help me make it work but when my budget got killed by unforeseen circumstances they came through. In a few months I guarantee I will be working with them again, detailing my dream garage workshop. Thank you Armstrong. Good luck!

My husband and I signed a contract for a 30' x 80' metal building. We put +$15k for the deposit back in March 2021. Armstrong goes MIA for NINE MONTHS until November 2021 when we receive our preliminary drawings. We were verbally told we would get our building the first of the new year. Negative. The only thing we received at the new year was an additional +$52k in miscellaneous material price increases. A building we signed for at $40k is now over $90k and still no delivery date. It's been OVER A YEAR and still no resolution.

A class action suit is being filed against this company as 36 b other victims have paid a deposit and received nothing but excuses. No plans. No Steel but many excuses., Avoid this company.

I have been looking for metal building manufacturers for quite some time and after a brief call with the Armstrong Steel team, all the questions I had were promptly answered well beyond my satisfaction, and it was extremely easy to go through the process to commission a building. Alexandra Claudio went WAY above and beyond for me in designing the building and then helping troubleshoot all my questions and making what would have been an OK building into an AMAZING building. The local building code threw a massive curveball and she again stepped up to the plate and made all the necessary changes. This is truly an impressive company. Anyone looking for a well-oiled team to put together a gorgeous building at a very reasonable price, look no further. Armstrong Steel will absolutely have my repeat business and I'm already planning our next build.

Armstrong Steel is a terrible company. The first thing they did is the way they got me online. They did a Black Friday sale. So, it tells you you're almost gonna get $4,000 off. Based on that price, it comes out really cheaper than everybody else. When you do it, you don't really get the details of everything because they said, "Oh, project manager will give you the details of everything." When you sign up for it, on the bottom, it tells you, you have 30 days to figure out all the details to keep the Black Friday's pricing. So, I got that. Two weeks went by, there still was nothing. I did it on Black Friday, which was around Thanksgiving.

I've called a couple times and said, "Project manager hasn't called me. I already lost two weeks." They said, "No, no. He'll be there." I lost about two weeks out of the 30 days. Then once I started dealing with the project manager, I realized that an extra door was an added cost, the side door was an added cost, and everything was nickel-and-diming. It ended up being a lot more. I was still trying to find the details of everything, and within that four weeks, my project manager was gone one weekend because her grandkid was born. Then another time, she had a stroke. Within those 30 days, I was asking questions. Right after they sent me something, I lost a day because they had to come back the next day.

The last of my final 30-day deadline was on a Sunday. I had the email saying on Friday, "Hey, make sure that you get the correct detail. The space between the doors must be five feet. So, please have that on the final paperwork so I could sign off on it." It says if you sign off and you don't have the correct details of it, you're stuck with that. So, that was me on a Friday. Magically, Sunday came and went, and on Monday morning I went, "Oh, okay, I'll do it." They sent it to me on Tuesday. A month and a half later was when I found out, "Oh no, no. You passed your 30 days. So, this is the normal price." So, I got stiffed for another four grand there.

COVID came into play, but we passed the deadline by another five weeks. When the parts got delivered, they give you five days to tell them if there's anything missing. The way they pack this stuff is so tight. You have to take everything because everything's sandwiched on top of each other. And if you take it out, you expose everything to the elements if there's been a break. Come to find out when I finally finished everything up, four pieces are missing. I called them up and they said, "Oh, well, you pass the five days. So, now we gotta charge you." So, for four pieces of metal that are probably a double size of a toaster oven, they charged me $75 shipping from Colorado to Arizona because I didn't let them know five days when I originally got the piece.

I was pissed off. I went on Reddit, and everybody has the same thing. They give you five days, and then they charge you outright. So, everything that happened to me was exactly everything was for everybody based on the reviews. I've talked to their manager, *. I got screwed out of $200 for shipping that I had to pay in parts that they didn't put in there. I got screwed $4,000 because their project manager sat on it for a few weeks, and then she couldn't get me the information early enough, and the whole thing, going back and forth with her about pricing.

I had to order a lot of parts outside the company because their pricing was outrageous. The problem with the company is on that initial, their salesperson said, "Oh, yeah. You're gonna get 40x60 building. Yeah, this is it, $22,000." I asked, "Well what about the door?" "No, no. You'll talk about that with the project manager." There was no mention that those things are gonna cost extra. They make it sound like, "This is the price. You just gotta tell the project manager where the door is gonna be."

Too bad they don't respond to this review.

Malinda Widrikis Was awesome to work with thru the process of getting the right building layout and pricing over so we can make that choice. Very knowledgeable on understand our wants and needs. If I need a second building later down the road will go thru Armstrong steel again.

There are several updates to this posting but I'm requesting that anyone in a similar boat as us, contact me at:

It has been 5 months after we gave them a deposit of $27,000. The plans have not been touched and they said we likely won't get steel this year. The communication has been almost non-existent and they refuse to return our money even though they have not provided services. We were also told they can't just refund money for everyone who is currently disappointed. All we want is our deposit back. Please do the right thing and give my elderly parents their money back. They've saved their whole lives to do this and so far Armstrong Steel has been one of the worst purchasing experiences of their lives.

Also, they have been deleting negative reviews and negative comments on their Facebook pages and I have been banned from the Facebook page for this same professional statement.

I would love to turn this negative experience into a positive review, we just would like the plans done or the money fairly refunded.

UPDATE:
So we have finally gotten the preliminary drawings and sent them back for the final permit drawings. I called today to ask for a timeline and once again got told they don't have any clue and "you are in the queue".

There were no changes to the drawings AT ALL.

So early February, we paid a deposit, we got the plans back at early July. We will see how long it takes to get the next drawings that will allow the home builder to actually start.

And I am STILL banned from their Facebook page despite only asking who else was having problems. They are hiding their bad reviews.

The same day that I inquired about a building project I received a call back. I was nervous at first because I thought my questions might be stupid. However, Conner Donahue made me feel very comfortable and we were able to start planning what I needed to do so they can move forward on the project. Connor was very knowledgeable about every step of the way including the prep of a site. I'm very excited to work with this company on my new project. Below is my old building, I plan to add a Mother in law cottage to the Existing structure.

DO NOT EVER GIVE THIS COMPANY 1 CENT - YOU WILL NEVER GET THE PRODUCT OR YOUR MONEY BACK. Any positive review is more than likely fake - we have discovered dozens and dozens of victims of this bait and switch company - every story is almost identical. They lie about "locking in your steel price", give u a very reasonable and affordable quote, lie about plan/engineering timelines, double the price of your building, keep your deposit. This is what they do over and over and over again. They refused to give our > $50k back, months and months later we got plans that are egregiously flawed (unbuildable according to our engineers), received no building after they doubled the price of our building from ~100k to $200k and then refused to give our money back. Every review has the same copy and paste response but they have absolutely zero intent of ever refunding you. Somehow on sonme other platforms, they have removed bad reviews. Run for the hills - this predatory behavior on unsuspecting consumers must be stopped and Armstrong needs to be exposed for what they are.

We are very sorry to see that you feel this way; however, our records indicate that several factors came into play concerning the pricing of your building.

First, your order was placed in October of 2020. When a customer purchases a building, they have 30 days to finalize a design as we cannot lock in a price indefinitely due to various external factors outside the control of our company. At your request, we agreed to extend the standard timeframe to 60 days in good faith, understanding that you would finalize your design within the agreed-upon timeline. Ultimately, the 60-day timeline was not adhered to as it took five-and-a-half months to finalize/approve the design. We do our best to communicate with our clients every step of the way, which is why we stressed early on that price increases were inevitable if the design was not approved on time.

Furthermore, in April of 2021, you requested we add components to your order such as an upgraded roof, loading for dormers, 2' overhangs, opening for a chimney, and additional custom-shaped window openings, which increased the cost of your order. You signed off on these changes; this was not a price increase that we simply added on without notifying you.

Despite our best efforts to obtain the necessary paperwork from you to keep your project on track and cost increases to a minimum, the project has been delayed for more than a year since last April. During this time, the cost of materials has continued to rise, adding to the cost of your building. We always do our best to absorb price fluctuations and shield our customers from increasing costs driven by economic factors outside our control. As material prices rose in May of 2021, you were issued less than a 20% price increase.

We regret that you've had a negative experience but feel we are doing our best to help with your situation. Please contact your Project Manager to discuss your project further, or email us at ClientAdvocate@armstrongsteel.com for assistance. We ordered 3 buildings from Armstrong, during the selling process they promised engineering in 2-4 weeks and the building delivery in 8 weeks. AFTER they received our deposit they told us the engineering would be 8-10 weeks, its now MORE than 12 weeks and they have no promised date for completion of the engineering. In addition they told us that IF we paid an additional 20-25% we might get the design engineering done in 6 more weeks, with no promise of delivery time. They also said there is NO possibility for refund of the money we paid them. THIS is a warning to everyone STAY CLEAR OF THEM! You might loose your money!

He answered all my questions, and it was easy explaining what I was looking for - I felt heard, and it was so quick to get a quote and render. Would absolutely work with them again.

I had a hard time finding a place that would service Alaska until I talked to David Schaut at Armstrong Steel. Their service was quick and the quote was in the same day. Davis Schaut was very helpful and polite. Looking forward to to getting the building and putting it up. I will do another review after I get the building built. Thank You Again!

Steel Building Purchase – Pima, Arizona

I have enjoyed working with Armstrong Steel. Every person I have dealt with has been very professional and courteous – the salesperson, the project manager, engineering department and accounting/billing.
In particular I have been extremely impressed with my project manager – Devian Trevino. Although everyone has been good, Devian has gone beyond what I expected. She has been extremely professional and responsive to my questions but has added a very personal touch while still representing Armstrong Steel. In my professional life I lead a process engineering group within a large oil and gas company. I was concerned with the technical ability of those individuals but also with their ability to find answers to questions and to deal with the customer in a manner such that the customer would come back to work with us again. Devian has the characteristics of the person I would like to hire.
There has been no pressure, and they went out of their way to give me advice in several areas along with providing quality structural drawings of the building and an anchor bolt plan for the foundation. YES, I am happy with my purchase, and I have recommended Armstrong Steel to my neighbors to contact regarding their own Steel Building Purchase.
