The bathing suit bottoms don't cover the pubic area whatsoever. I'm 5'2" and 110lbs. If a size 0 feels like there is not enough fabric in the size sm there is an issue.
Julia from the brand sent multiple emails to update when the package was on its way, but has not responded to any message to offer any accommodation for the fact that their pattern cut and sizing is severely flawed. That paired with their predatory return policy leads to a terrible customer experience. They charge you back 10$ shipping PER PIECE, plus a 20% return fee, and you pay your own shipping back. Leading to getting Maybe $50 back on a $90 bathing suit top, etc. Save your money and DON'T order from Ark Swimwear!
This is by far the worst return policy I've ever encountered. Not only are you required to pay for international return shipping yourself, but the company also deducts 20% of your order total PLUS a $10 fee just to issue a refund. This is incredibly unfair and feels like they're penalizing customers for returning items. I regularly shop from international brands, including those based in Australia, and I've never come across such unreasonable practices. The return policy is not clearly highlighted during the purchase process – you only truly notice it when it's too late and you try to return something. While customer service responds politely, they show no willingness to accommodate or acknowledge how outrageous this is. I will never purchase from this store again and strongly advise others to stay away.
Based in Europe - I order two tops €130 (carefully using the measurement tool) as they first scared me with their return policy of deduction of 20% + $10 when choosing for a refund. The tops barely covered my nipples - chose S (bra size 70A). To return your package you have to pay €52 shipping costs. So all in all you get €42 back if you return these nipple covers. They cover up themselves perfectly, but this isn't a shopping experience for EU based customers
I don't recommend this brand. From now on I'll check the return policy when using a brand I've never purchased from. I wanted to buy one piece swimsuit from them. I am xs-s size in all my clothes. After reading the reviews I got M size just to be safe. When it came u could barely put it on, it was a children size. I wanted to exchange for the bigger size, they told me they don't provide a return label and I had to ship it myself to Australia for 40$! Additionally, when they got it, they told me that it had a stain in the crotch, which is a complete lie! The protective film was in place, I took it off right away and there simply nothing I could stain it with. That looks like a scam. When I told it to the customer service, they told me they need to keep additional 20$, what pissed me off. I didn't want their store credit as I didn't want to anything with their company. They were so confident, they gave me the name of consumer agency name so I could file a complaint- I guess I wasn't the first one.Now I comment to all their social media posts so other customers don't fall for it, and I recommend you do too.
Do not buy from ark. They basically make money out of you when you refund the product.
Product quality is poor. You will want to refund it. When you do, you will be charged a refund PENALTY. It's ridiculous. I have never come across this in all my years shopping online. They told me they charge a penalty to avoid people returning on mass. What about the genuine customers who only buy two pieces? Do not buy from ark.
On top of it all their customer service is the worst I have ever come across. Misleading.
As a customer, don't be mislead by instagram. I never really write reviews but I felt the need to warn others! You'll be sorry if you do. I lost $40 Do not buy from ark.
I had purchase a couple of swimsuits last year which when received did not fit. Then started the return process back and forth ( spending pretty much as much on returns than the garments) then eventually decided on a credit note which is valid for 6 month. I received my order today to another swimsuit in a size small that looks like a child size 4. Very fed up with In inaccuracy in sizes. Now one again I'm left with a swimsuit that fits half of my body and will have to once again return it. My honest opinion with this brand is that there swimsuits are made for children bodies ( if that) and will never ever buy from this brand again! Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time purchasing from this brand it's a complete joke!
"WARNING"
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Like most reviews on here! Disgusting, fraudulent, misleading.I was not giving up until I got my money back, this company needs to be shut down! You'll notice they have no proper social media outlets, you can't write a review or post on their page, no google review! Very clever of them, I'm so happy PayPal got my money back, 1 star is overkill, there is so much more I could say about this company & the Owner Alex & her disgusting behaviour telling me to except I need change sizes to fit into their swimwear especially when I've always been a 10 for all swimwear & brands, shocking behaviour! I gave my measures & they couldn't even guide me on what to swap it with! THEY DONT EVEN KNOW THEIR OWN BRAND! I live in Sydney (northern beaches) which is where their company is located, might pop past & see if they actually reside at that address, probably just a cover! I hope they read this review & I will try & post this everywhere I can. You should be ashamed Arkswimwear & I hope you are shut down ASAP
I bought a number of bikinis from here knowing they could be exchanged as per Ark's terms and conditions. Only one bikini for so I returned the others with a request for an exchange. Purchase was end of February 2024. It's August 2024 and I do not have my bikinis. I continue to chase by email (the only method of communication) and have had a reply once each month but still no sign of my exchanges. I have never seen such poor (non existent) customer service. It's a lot of money.
Disgusting customer service!
I contacted them 8 times via email before they responded, and when they did they were extremely unhelpful. The products are very overpriced and fit terribly.
The company is in Australia but their pricing is in US Dollars, not Australian Dollars, so make sure you don't get caught because you need to read through all their legal paraphernalia and fine print before knowing this.
My credit card statement shows I paid R1627.00 (South African Rand) for my bikini, which is the conversion in Australian Dollars, but Arkswimwear wrote US Dollars on the commercial invoice for DHL customs. SO I ended up paying R1742.50 for customs duties. Which is MORE THAN THE ACTUAL PRICE OF THE BIKINI! Our customs duties in South Africa are 40% of the price of the item purchased. I paid MORE than 100% due to the fact that they did not stipulate Australian Dollars on the commercial invoice. I have emailed them numerous times to explain the issue, including screenshots of conversions in both currencies as well as screenshots of my credit card payment to them. They refuse to acknowledge the issue, even with proof provided.
Nowhere on my invoice emailed from Arkswimwear does it stipulate US Dollars. Very misleading!
A horrible experience with this company to say the very least!
Made an online order with Ark Swimwear on 19/5/24 received on 21/5/24 sent top only back for exchange for different style top they received the exchanged item on 30/5/24. After numerous emails chasing them up, they sent 1 response after I made a claim with PayPal saying they would send the top if I cancelled the claim, I immediately replied asking them to email the tracking number and confirmation of shipment and I then I can cancel the claim. Received email from PayPal last night that Ark Swimwear has sent response to my claim with a tracking number, I searched the tracking number with AusPost and it's the original tracking number from the 21/5/24! They are playing games. All I want is the service I paid them for! DO NOT BOTHER WITH THEM. There is better swimwear out there.
Teeny-tiny bathing suits made for teeny-tiny people. Do not buy with the hopes of seeing if they will fit, and definitely do not plan on returning them if they do not fit. Returning is a horrible experience. No refunds are possible. Exchanges only. But the company is in Australia, so prepare to spend $70+ just to ship back. I paid Ark $25 for a DHL shipping label on May 30, per their customer service's suggestion, and still have not received the label (it is June 6), despite multiple follow-up inquiries I've made. So, adding insult to injury, they got my ridiculous amount of money for these un-returnable and unwearable suits AND an additional $25 for what feels like a scam. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied by my experience with this company. Never again.
A company that does not disclose where its products are made, out of which materials and with what production practices, in our day and age can only mean one thing - FAST FASHION. You are accomplice in polluting the earth we all share, probably exploit factory workers in the global south, but you have the audacity to claim a "moral" stance in a conflict you have no personal stakes, experience or expertise in. Your hypocrisy screams you are only doing this for internet clout, and on the expense of real human beings - some of which are in your costumer base. Clean up your own harmful practices before lecturing anyone else about morals and justice. Especially when according to your set of morals SA is okay if it's done to women civilians from a country who's political leadership you disagree with. Such a shameful stance to take as a business selling to women. If you think some women deserve SA, my moral compass says I will never support you.
The worst swimsuit and customer service I have ever experience in my life. I am 63kgs and 5'3. I ordered a Medium and it fits like an XXS. There customer service only got back to me after I resorted to commenting on their instagram pictures. Such poor customer service they dont give a crap. They dont offer returns only exchanges and you have to pay for postage both ways.
I agree with everyone's complaints on return exchange policy. I only gave them a 3 because I do believe the suits are great. After much complaining I finally got exchange form. I included it believe for anyone else trying to find it
They have the worst return policy and customer service, The return policy basically means you are out of pocket regardless. They take ages to respond to emails, and even though I had emailed 3 times, they only replied to my first email pretending they hadn't seen the others. I can see they work off a Salesforce CRM as the images they sent me came off that web address, so they would have clearly seen the whole email chain!
I just wouldn't buy from them ever again. As a bikini company they would know how important it is giving their customers a way in which to try on the stuff without making the whole experience in returning so difficult.
I ordered this for my girlfriend as a suprise gift. I wanted a high quality rauched bikini and I liked the colors and options I found on Ark's website. She is an XS in just about all her clothing so I ordered that knowing I could exchange sizes if I needed to. The first thing I noticed is single stitching everywhere and threads coming off nearly all the stitches - I expected better quality for $160USD. The bottoms fit fairly well however the top wasn't even close. The cups fit well but it didn't even come close to fitting around her ribcage. This top measure 22" around (think toddler!?) and she is about 27". She's 5'4" and 97lbs - I know proportions are different for different people but this is ridiculously small.
So I figured no problem, I can exchange the top for a larger size. Think again! Since they are in Australia, UPS wanted $160 to ship just the top back at the cheapest rate. Additionally, subsequent emails to ask about options have gone into never never land. We need policy in place to allow online reviews directly to the company - because with what I'm seeing here, they wouldn't be in business if that was the case.
After indicating that we were not happy happy with the quality of the swimsuit they offered an exchange with shipping both ways at our cost. We made an exchange, to find the quality was still terrible and asked for a refund. They told us no refunds then stopped responding altogether. It's very sad to see a local business giving local businesses a bad name like this. We have submitted an ACCC complaint.
The bikini tops have no support like shown in their adverts. They also have a no refunds policy. Steer clear!
Emailed 5 times, got back to me a week later saying they "were updating communications". Item came unfinished with strings hanging out of the seams in multiple places. They said "the item is not damaged" even though I fully had proof. This company is a money hungry scam as much as they claim to have the utmost care for their customers. Styles are cute but cheaply sewn and don't even tryyyy to email them for any reason bc they won't reply and will gaslight you. Gross business practice. Save your money.
Clasp pops open while wearing, fabric and clasp hook both slippery (plastic and flimsy). Customer service will only exchange if unworn… catch 22 if you have a problem after you wear it. They suggested daughter should have gone down a size because stretches in the water but that would also negate their exchange policy.
Fabric also started to rough up after hardly any use.
Multiple emails and Insta messages to them but little response.
