Site should have been labeled Anal Nurses.

If you are banned, there are 'hacks' in the program that will alert the Powers That Be if you try to register again. BUT... why are some of the Admins allowed 2nd accounts? Siri? Aka winkibach.

And why is Thunderwolf now posting under his real name? Why hasn't he been on in so long? The story he gave doesn't ring true.

If you want any profession advice this is not the place to go. Please contact the state board of nursing and your school instructor.

I was just banned from this site for no reason? It's ridiculous. I didn't do anything wrong or posted anything illegal.

Full of themselves
October 23, 2019

I went to the site and hoped to experience a community of shared experiences. But instead, I was greeted with elitist, self-centered, snobs with closed minds. If you have a concern or a question regarding your experiences in nursing or prenursing, google is your friend, because all nurses will only further make you feel like crap. Please dont contribute to this horrible place. It will ruin you emotionally and deter you from your ambitions. It will also impact your self-esteem even more than when you first came onto the forums when you had a real concern and legitimate questions. Just go to your school's counselors, these bigots are on a fascist level. They will discriminate against your GPA, your experiences with an absolute lack of compassion.
This place is a circle jerk and if you sell your soul and kiss $#*! here, you will be fine, but if you have an actual question or need support emotionally? Good luck, it's like throwing a bloody limb into a pool of piranhas. They will rip you apart. If you honestly have questions or concerns, make an appointment with an advisor.
I warned you.

You will be called awful, not good enough, suck it up, deal with it,

Unlike the reviews here, I don't have any problems with the moderators of the site. From what I've seen they get rid of the trouble makers. Basically, it's a positive place and they try to keep it that way.

If you are a new-comer, read the TOS. If you break it you will be warned. Repeated abuse will get you banned. I believe that applies to all discussion sites. It's the first thing I read and it was standard stuff with specifics on what you can or cannot do.

Now, let's get straight into a review of the site...

It's monetized with ads - but so is a lot of other sites.

The mobile version is a bit slower than others.

Their search is basically powered by Google but for me it's not that robust. For some reason, I have a hard time finding anything new or specific.

It's a large site. I had a hard time finding where to post but eventually I learned. I did noticed that they will move your post to the "best place".

It's great talking to familiar 'professionals'. People who are going through the same thing you are at work.

Overall, I like it. I keep going back.

I had been on this site since I was a nursing student. At first, I thought it was a great way for me to network with other nurses around the globe. Unfortunately, it was detrimental to my state as I was bullied on numerous occasions in which I was not even heard by the moderators. Finally, I gave it right back eventually getting banned from the site. I did not ever pay but, if I was treated this way as a free customer I do not think someone who pays will get treated any better.

My point is we come from different backgrounds, cultures, and places. Our career path will not be the same as everyone else's. It is unfortunate that many of them have Bachelor's degree and forward (or so they claim) who should know better to make such assumptions on a person that they do not even know. With this type of education you need to look into yourself and put your biases aside. This site does not do this. I can just imagine how they treat their patients when they have some kind of issue that they have not experienced.

The members of this site constantly told me and I am sure others that I was not good enough. After being off the site for a year and find my way I realize everything they were telling me was not true. They did not know me personally and they certainly did not have the same career setbacks that I have had. Most of them who commented have had the same job for years and did not suffer from the economical crisis. As a matter of fact, they did not even work in a hospital type of setting.

Stay far away from this site as it might give you depression since you will be surrounded by (*&^%$#. You will find better networking with Registered Nurses that actually know your strengths and weaknesses that can help you move forward.

Bullies
May 2, 2017

Simply put. You have to sugar coat nursing and all the nasties that come with it. The people on here are the bullies and crybabies that grew up. It does not matter if your post is within community guidelines. Your post will be deleted if a mod doesn't like it. You will be banned if they don't like your post. You have to conform to group think on this website. You cannot discuss issues between nurses. You cannot share your own opinions and experiences. You are not allowed to comment on common nursing issues such as bullying-they will delete it. Self proclaimed Nurse Veterans will pick apart at everything you write. Heaven forbid, you disagree with an RN, BSN or MSN and you are an LPN. Even if you are a CNA, they will rip you apart if you're too opinionated. They chant their credentials over and over. They act as if they are some sort of God that you should praise. They totally need a reality check.

Not to mention the entire website is an ad for online colleges. This is not a place for opinions. This is were you kiss butt and get praised for it.

Whats the point if this website anyway? It is a bunch of miserable nurses getting off on being byches.

This is the complaint I filed with the BBB: I suggest anyone else that Allnurses has done this to (many people, a Google search will reveal), file a complaint with them too.

Paid $30-40 for a Premium Membership - Was Permanently banned after only a month. Unforgiving and heavy-handed censoring and banning.

I paid $30-40 for a premium account on Allnurses. I do own a business and did want to help promote it on this forum. I was not aware that this was very much against their policy. On their sales page, they offered a "signature" and the option to link to my website as perks of the premium account, leading me to believe that I could promote my site. They do state on a separate page that they don't allow this, but I hadn't seen it at the time.

1) They sent me a warning not to post links in my signature. So I removed it and stopped making any mention of my website it posts. I only posted helpful content that other readers were asking about. They deleted the posts that had my signature.

2) They put me in "moderation status" because I put a link in my signature to me "About Me" page (Which is not an external link. It is still on the Allnurses website). So they deleted my posts again and put me on moderation status.

3) So I made sure not to mention my website, nothing at all about my business, and I expressed that to them via their help center.

4)On the morning of 5/21/2013, I go on the website to this message:

Attention: Please Read
You have been banned for the following reason:
Blatant advertising self promotion

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

No contact info, no way to reach them. Nothing. I have no idea why, since just the day before I told them my intentions are to not mention my business at all.

I did post a few posts the day before, but none of my signatures had links nor references to my business, only identifying me as an "RN and Entrepreneur."

Again, I did not mention my business a single time. I gave helpful advice only, to people who were already asking for them. I really have no idea why I was banned, and I paid for the premium membership.
