Did you ever buy a car from a dealer only to DISCOVER the "Selling Price" "wasn't" anywhere near the "selling price" because they omitted the hidden costs? In the case of this alibris transaction, the hidden costs totaled 39.5% of the billed charges. That is absurd and an insult to the buyers! The fulfillment charge is built into the selling price. (if not, you don't know how to do biz); the carrier get a huge piece of the action action... 24% ($2.89 USPS media rate), so Alibris gets their additional lift $1.10 (9.1%) and of course the government gets their touch as well $0.77 (6.4%). It would be better for the buyer to know the TOTAL estimated in the SELLING price. In this case, the increase was 39.5%. Easy fix, the ZIP Code hold the devils details. It is not to say savvy buyers don't understand it is cheating to understate the total cost. IT REFLECTS BADLY ON ALIBRISS! Cheated buyers remember! So list your selling price (include all your lifts) and ask for the ZIP Code up front and calculate shipping and tax so the buyer knows. THEN REMIND YOUR BUYERS THIS IS THE "Net, Net Price" and is not deliberately understated. Cleaner approach and certainly more honest and buyers appreciate honest sellers! One last point, if i don't check Yes for a follow up, even if i paid the same money, i don't get: "order confirmation, additional feedback options, and convenient customer care resolution services should any issues arise." THAT SUX BIGTIME! IT ALSO CHEAPENS WHO YOU ARE! THIS IS MY 1ST AND LAST ORDER!
