$#*! this $#*! this low key may be the worst teaching tool out there, when my school used to use books more students would be passing but now since the math program was implemented there are more people failing, IT $#*!ING SUCKS!
ALEKS is almost a never ending homework site that in some schools can be 50% of their math grade. You have to do that in top of the homework you all ready have. Never to forget those random, time wasting knowledge checks that can be 25-30 questions long. Most students are having extreme levels of stress due to the endless amounts of homework.
So $#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!$#*!
I don't know what to say. This website; it's a piece of $#*!. The curriculum is broken. Someone might use it, wanting to feel or become smarter in math. There's nothing wrong with that. But since it punishes you for wrong answers, throws in bizarre "Knowledge Checks" after you can rest to master just a few topics, the tutorials make you feel like you're an idiot, and rewards can make it seem like it thinks you're some 8 year old, in the end you'll feel even more like a piece of $#*! that can't do math. The QuickTables character's designs are so bland and out of proportion, and there are only 4 characters for Quicktables. Often, when you are solving problems; either on your "path" or on QuickTables, you'll put in the right answer and get the problem wrong. Then, of course, you suffer a huge penalty. If you get enough problems wrong, it "drafts" you to a new topic that's most of the time even more difficult than the previous topic. It will make you feel terrible. The design of the website is very empty and boring, the QuickTables games are very boring and pretty easy; QuickTables gives you a few seconds to solve basic arithmetic, but the answering system is rigged and broken. There isn't much to do on ALEKS, it's extremely boring and if you're struggling you're forced to take the long run and force yourself to figure it out. I wouldn't recommend this website to anyone, especially since there's no main goal; just learn 377 topics by the end of a semester. ALEKS can take it's trashy websites and stick it up it's bumhole. I'm surprised that McGraw Hill actually bought the ALEKS Corporation; better to take down the website than buy it for a cheap price.
This system is an utter waste of money, and it does NOT teach you a single thing. Explanations are confusing, cluttered, and not helpful. You will regret purchasing this system.
I'm in middle school, and my entire school has to do this 3 hours and 30 topics each week. Seriously, ALEKS? I have NO time for completing this math. If I don't do this math, it'll drop my grade by 30%. I'm forced to do this unless I want a C or D in math. I have an A+ in math and I'm still struggling with this ALEKS crap. Aside from this, it's very horrible and will waste your time. It's likely that you won't remember a single topic, so don't buy this.
I'm not a math person at all. So when I opted to take Intermediate algebra first so I could refresh my brain I was hoping it'd help. But the "teacher" said that Aleks is proven to help you learn things better. Now my college totally screwed me over by not telling me before hand that this certain class is not a traditional class, like it said when signing up for classes. So I was basically forced to take it. And by god it is a pain the the f*cking a*s. They say "oh it's at your own pace, don't worry" but in reality if you go at your own pace you're going to screw yourself over. It penalizes you if you get a question wrong by taking the point away and you have to do a other example. It's A LOT of work to do. Sure you have the freedom to do it at your house. Only if you have no social life. I was told by this so called "teacher" that I have to do Aleks 2 hours EVERY NIGHT. 7 days a week. Screw that. I tried, I seriously tried to work on Aleks 2 hours every night but it was too much! I'm planning on doing as much as I can before the semester ends, but I'm gonna drop it because luckily this class isn't worth anything on my transcript. All it did was cost a few hundred dollars. I think I'm just gonna have to get my extra lessons from Khan Academy. Aleks is the worst thing in existence. I wish colleges/university's would stay away from this bullsh*t program.
I was on the same lesson for 3 days. I was on the last question and it said i was wrong when i was right. I even found the answer using a calculator
Hello my name is heinrich schilman and this website is very fine! Im part of hungarian international school in budapest and we use this website everyday for maths and Statistics. I dont understand why People say aleks is stupid n******r i dont think he is. I rate this 5/5 much better than pakistani sal Khan
Ever since day one, I found about as much use out of this site as a eunuch would a condom. It is simply obnoxious in the fact that it expects you to be a mathematician; it ends up becoming a case of if you are a mathematician you don't need the instruction that it offers, and if you're a student the explanations are so narrow and may omit important information due to the creators lack of foresight that they can become near useless which doesn't compliment the site's demand that you input your answer PERFECTLY, so in short, to quote Daniel Keem "ALEKS is a stupid n***er!"
Punishes you for making a mistake, like your a Jewish captive in Auschwitz or some child laborer in Malaysia who works for no pay. The way it rewards you for mastering a topic is sort of like how you would treat an autistic mongoloid to dinner. If ALEKS had a wife and kids, I would sure $#*! this $#*! out of her and take his kids with me.
It punishes you for making mistakes while rewarding those gifted at math. And you have a week to do anywhere from 70 to 100 lessons, which is basically the equivalent of 300+ problems considering each lesson is from 3 to 5 questions or more. And then there's the knowledge check which screws you over even more because if you miss a problem or two, they add even more problems and lessons for you to do that you may have already covered, adding insult to injury. If you manage your time appropriately, you can knock it out and catch up, but you would literally have to put aside everything else. Also it does the most obnoxious thing where if you get one wrong over and over again, it takes points from previous questions that you EARNED from answering the question. So say you're on question 4 out of 5, you could literally get number 4 wrong several times and that would be most of the points you already earned, and that would easily discourage most from wanting to finish, some learned better by using this program and for good reason, but at the same time its extremely tedious and stressful, and it already is a huge part of your grade.
ALEKS has made me feel as though I am incapable of learning. It has caused me many stressful nights, stomach ulcers, and my mother is tired of me calling to complain. I am currently crying real tears. I didn't pay my college tuition to deal with this stupid program that I have not learned a single thing from.
The most stupid site used for studying. Teachers please don't include ALEKS for your class. UgH!
Besides all of the whiny people complaining just because of the work, it's actually a bad site. You spend maybe a few minutes on a topic to learn it and then most people (like me) forget about it later, you do like 500 of these with knowledge checks every once in awhile which can be good or bad. They test you on what you learned, if you don't remember how to do the stuff (and you probably won't) it sends you way back. It's not a "good learning site" it's a chore. It's an add-on to the work students are already doing, it's just another assignment teachers can give to the students and it doesn't help in any way. I didn't even mention the countless number of bugs on the site but other reviews should tell you much about that. Someone please listen to this and take it into consideration. Thanks
Aleks is $#*!ing garbage it does not work, if your answer is not typed in 100% correctly it will count it wrong, i hate this website it can go to hell, i would rather drink a shot of my own urine than have to spend another minutes on aleks
This website is really stupid. It makes u do a knowledge check like every 2 hours. It made me do the protractor thing for like 30 minutes because i didnt put the line in a specific place. Dont use this website its a waste of time
The program is flawed it frequently switches the question after you submit and answer and therefore are wrong. Since its a computer program and single mistake in typing results in a 100% incorrect answer and therefore you can spend hours on a topic without making any progress even tho i understand the topic. When you dont understand the topic you probably should google it because aleks gives you crappy feedback and horrible explantions if you dont get it. It is designed for mathmeticians by mathmeticians for mathmeticians to be lazy. Therefore if you are going to struggle with the subject even a little it will only amplify and increase your frustrations without increasing learning. If you can find a way to get the credits without Aleks do iy!
Pathetic excuse for learning, massive work load, horrible explanations for problems, extremely flawed answer submission.
If you get this as a class DROP IT IMMEDIATELY
I absolutely hate aleks it gets so hard at the end of the year i want to kill myself using this website i want to kill this website kill it with fire
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
