So, I still feel that ALEKS is a poor attempt at a Math website. Though the last time I actually used it was back in 2018. I still think that there is a lot it is missing when it comes to a Math Program. Let's look at other educational websites to see what they are doing right. Big Ideas math does it right by making the interface easy to use. It goes by the what the teacher posts as the assignment. If it is passed the deadline, you can simply turn it in from the late assignments page. ALEKS has a lot stacked against it and all these alternatives wont help it. In general, don't use ALEKS. Big Ideas Math is a MUCH easier to use alternative.

This is the worst program EVER! I was forced to use this because i failed the first semester of Geometry, and this course made everything so much harder and confusing. These $#*!ing idiots who run this program don't teach you anything. I worked on this all day long every single day for the past two weeks on the topics i didn't understand and i couldn't receive help from anyone. I hope they dismantle the ALEKS program and i hope whoever ALEKS is burns in hell!

Throughout my school career we have had to use this site. It has slowly drained me of the will to ever try to get better at math. Everyone hates the site. I do not understand why teachers still make us use it. I don't blame teachers, though. I blame whoever made this site. I normally try to stay calm but this site has me actually digging my nails into my cranium. I hate ALEKS with every fiber of my being. They don't even understand the material they are supposed to be teaching. They tell you to divide the exponent by the pi of the square route then subtract all of that and then add what they got to the root. And it takes five hours just to realize all you had to do was add 1 and 1 together. It is actually ridiculous. I am slowly going mad just writing this review. I'm currently stuck doing ALEKS over the summer so I can move on to geometry, pray for me. I still have to finish 30% of the pie, and then I have to take knowledge check after knowledge check. I have learned approximately just enough to finish one topic, then I forget everything I learned. So I am officially screwed. I am going to be yelled at for wasting the summer when I should have been learning, but it isn't my fault. It's my job to learn but I can't if they don't know how to teach. Do not use this site! And if you are stuck with ALEKS, I pray for you. God speed.

I go to therapy for my anxiety and i literally only started going because of this $#*!ty $#*! website. It does not help WHATSOEVER. It stressed me out so much because it made no $#*!ing sense and the explanations are like a drunk third grader wrote them. The point of aleks was to help me with school but i needed school to help me with aleks because i was so goddamn confused. Please do not use this to help students learn, it's really stressful. I just,, if you've never done aleks consider yourself lucky. When i say it's bad i mean BAD bad, i've stayed up for hours doing like 10 topics because the questions make literally zero sense. This website is like the reason i hate math and i'm not even joking. I've had mental breakdowns over this bs, it made learning hell, please never use this to teach ever it's literally the worst. The worst experience with any math website in my entire life. The topics can take hours to complete and when you get a knowledge check sometimes it doesn't even test you on the topics you just learned, it literally gives you $#*! that you may have done months ago and then you have to RELEARN it. It was the most stressful part of school for me and every one of my friends. The amount of times i cried over this bs. I was like 1 topic away from finishing it and then it gave me a question on a knowledge check over a topic that i never even LEARNED(?) and then i had to go back and redo 5 different topics. Aleks gives you way too many topics to complete each week. These "topics" take hours to complete and once you finish a certain number of them, they give you a "knowledge check" to test you on the topics again and if you get them wrong YOU HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN. I was 5 topics away from completing my work, but guess what?!? IT ADDS 12 BACK. Even if your answers are right, they will still mark you wrong because you forgot to put "feet squared" or it's not "exact" I'm relearning math, but it actually feels like I'm not learning anything but frustration instead.

It stinks. There is nothing of value to be found here. The program punishes you for getting a question wrong, instead of helping you. It lowers self-esteem. The "explanations" offer little to no help in solving the problem. The program gives you different types of numbers in many problems to have more variety, I guess. But it only explains one of the types of numbers you encounter and then assumes you know what to do in every problem with every type of number. If it uses variables, they throw in a fraction and don't explain anything about how to solve the problem with a fraction unless you either get it wrong or hit that explanation button. This site sucks balls and we students are tired of it. We want change. F*#k ALEKS and everyone who assigns it to their students.

Aleks Is not Good for people. 1. It Took me over 1 hour to complete this course and that is not right. 2. The videos are supposed to "help you". Well no they dont and 3. Now I have no confidence in my ability to do math because of Aleks

This "program" is an awful way to learn anything. I've had multiple instances of putting in the right answer and it tells me I'm wrong. Even when I actually do get the wrong answer, it is unhelpful and doesn't tell me what I did wrong, much less how to fix it. The knowledge checks are the worst. For me, it's a 30 question quiz every few days that often takes an hour to complete. Because of the number of topics it goes over in that time, it's more of a memory game than a quiz. Plus, if you get one question wrong it will make you redo the whole thing (30 questions for about 30 topics). Also, the way that you progress is absolute garbage. If you get a question wrong, you LOSE one point (out of 3-5). This is made worse when you combine it with the fact that it doesn't even tell you what you're doing wrong. I chose 1/5 because unfortunately there's no 0/5.
